The motor and housing were assembled incorrectly at an angle. This meant that there on one side the blades had enough room to spin but the opposite side scraped and stopped turning. See image.

I'm thinking that this is the nicest ceiling fan that I have ever installed/used. Very easy installation and totally silent but moves a lot of air. Have seen some reviews about the LED light not lasting well and I can't speak to that since I'm only a month in. The color of this fan looks nice with our sage green walls and white ceiling. Would definitely make this purchase again. Also should mention that I wanted one that would work with our existing dual wall switches and this one was perfect for that. If you want a remote, this one does NOT include it.

I've probably installed 60 fans for rentals and whatnot. As long as your jbox is secured to a stud(fan rated metal box) installing this fan should take under 30 minutes. It took me 15 minutes. They make it so easy! No abnormal loud noises, decent whiteish light. I forget what the kelvin rating was but it looks like a 3,000K to me. Kinda yellow, but not too yellow like a 2700K. Kinda wish it was 3500K. Roughly 1300 lumens so 1.5 regular bulbs in terms of brightness

2nd fan I’ve bought from Home Depot in 4 months, both bad This one very loud humming sound. They allow returns but don’t reimburse for all the electrician service calls. So far I have over $300 in a fan and still don’t have a functioning one. Never will buy one at HD again!!!

The fan is excellent with easy installation overall. For the matte black, my only complaint is - while one side of the fan blade is matte black, the other side is dark brown. It looks dark gray in the pictures online. It does not match the coloring, only the graining. I intended to use the gray side but now will stick with the matte black. Not worth taking off a star but thought it worth sharing

Over all the fan works and looks nice. However the color of the blades on the box do NOT match what I unboxed. Fairly disappointed because it doesn’t match the colors in my home.

After professional install looked nice but noticed fan chain rub against the bowl or something (both fans). After approx 1 month the chain broke on one of the fans and approx 2 months later the chain broke on the other one. Returned both and got fans that do not have chains through the bowl.

Fairly easy to install but the housing cover is small andthe screws are hard to access. The blade asssembly was a snap. Reversible colors was a great option. No need to balance the blades yet.... We will see what a few months do to it. The light is bright and soft, a litte yellow but pleasant . I would recommend theis fan to any one that is replacing a fan. Hampton bays should incude. a right anle screwdriver an a few more wire nuts.

I got this without the remote. For the price it is great. No wobbling, very quiet. The light is a softer warm light, not super bright, which is what I wanted. I am using it in my living area of a low ceiling cape cod. My husband removed the old fan and put this in relatively quickly, about an hour or so.

This fan and light assembly was easy to install. It looks great. And really cools the room down. As a result we are able raise the A/C up and save on our cooling bill.

We just purchased 2 of these fans the end of June 2020 for our outdoor deck area. Easy installation. Great color combination of bronze and wood. The led light is also very appealing. Very nice look for a decent price.

The fan was very easy to install using the provided instructions. I only wish that the light as dimable... very bright!

The bowl broke as soon as I installed it. The bowl was crooked so I pushed on one side to straighten it and it snapped! Cheaply made in my opinion.

Looks good, works as expected. I had to hire an electrician to install it because I could not do it myself and he said it was pretty standard install with no difficulty. It was nice to have a choice between matte or shiny blades. Good product for the price.

Very nice fan, but I recommend taking the weights off the end of the pull chains.

Hampton Bay has always been a quality product, this fan is a fifty two inch but the air flow is minimal even on high setting, if you lower the speed to medium or low the air flow is barely noticeable and the fan makes a noticeable humming sound that can be aggravating if you’re sensitive to humming noises. I am a little disappointed by this. aspect of this fan. The bright point of this fan is the LED light fixture.

The Hampton Bay Menage LED 56 inch Ceiling Fan with Light Kit is a very sharp smooth lines that are a decorative alternative to provide cool air and lighting in any room in the house. Simple clean design in a Brushed Nickel finish with reversible wood grain or gray-silverish blades. The air flow is excellent, the reverse direction of the air flow is on the side of the housing below the blades and above the light globe. Assembly is easy following the directions, and when putting the blades together they snap in place very easy. The down position is for warn weather and the up position is for cold weather. They provide a balancing kit, not needed on this one the chains only slightly move when on high speed. Overall the fan is very nice.

Purchased for my home under construction 1/14/19, and just had it installed by an electrician on 6/8/19 (house was behind schedule). The fan works great, but the light will not light up. I am really hoping that we do not have to take the fan down to get it working. Is there any way to just disassemble the light portion to get it replaced? I would greatly appreciate your help, and will update my review as you respond. (PS I tried feedback tab and waiting on the phone for HD customer service for a long time, but neither worked)

This ceiling fan brand new is perfect for our bedroom. The putting together this fan took about 10 mins with a screw driver. The ceiling install took some help from a neighbor who is an electrician. Taking the old one down didn’t take long. I really like the color of the fan arms. The light is too bright for me all I had to do was switch out the bulb. The bulb is a WiFi bulb that works with my google hub. Doesn’t come with this kit. Depending on how long this fan works, I say go for it.

We love its design and its performance, but its installation was a little complicated, as elements of the body had to be assembled. Planning to get another for the master bedroom.

The fan is beautiful, and I suppose I can appreciate that this integrated LED is supposed to be more maintenance free. However, the LED itself cannot be swapped for any other light kit - conventional or otherwise. Further, the LED itself is adequately bright, but not in an omni-directional fashion leaving the edges, walls, and corners of your room dark. Also - there appears to be a 1sec delay between flipping the switch and light illumination (though that may be the additional remote module I installed - but I doubt it and fully suspect the LED) Several other reviewers have commented that this should not be used for primary lighting or task (bright) lighting of a room. I say, a light mounted on the ceiling in the center of your room should be your primary, bright, task oriented lighting. I will have to return this product unfortunately, however if it offered a conventional lighting module to swap out I would gladly purchase that and keep the product.

Very pleased with our new fans. Installed 3 in my home. It took about 20 minutes to put together and install. Assembly is very easy. LED light is bright.

What sets this ceiling fan apart is that it comes with an integrated LED light. There is no bulb to replace ever. There are more pluses than minuses with this method of lighting, first - the light is evenly dispersed (I.E. it looks like light is coming from the whole assembly rather than just a bulb on either side of the post), second, the light is bright (it's 17 watts worth of spread out LED's, so this will brightly light a good sized room). The fan blades are reversible, and have a grayed wood stain look on one side, and just plain gray on the other. We'll go with the grayed wood stain because in my opinion, it looks better. I added pictures of the fan blades, as everything else on the fan is pretty standard. The light cover is frosted glass which will soften the light from all the LED's. The fan itself has 4 speeds (high, medium, low, and off), and there is a switch on the motor to reverse the blade rotation for the winter months. Finally, there is a separate pull string to control the light, so that the light can be on without the fan.

This ceiling fan was easy to assemble with the exception of tightening the screws to the ceiling cover to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket holes are black so ot was difficult to find the hole. Otherwise, instructions well written. Put up three of these.

Love this fan/light. It is well-built and very sleek and modern looking. The blades have a pewter side and a wood grain side to choose from. The pull chains are very long; we removed part of each because our ceiling is not a high one. The LED lighting is not as bright as one with the 3 bulbs, but it is sufficient for our room. It looks very nice in our new addition.

The fan itself and light is great. Looks great, very bright LEDs and runs perfectly. Installing it was another issue. First off the cover that fits over the ceiling mounting bracket doesnt fit over it completely and as a result is not flush with the ceiling. It's off by a few millimeters. I checked it many times and it simply does not fit over it properly. Second, the screws which are attached to the cover where the LED light panel goes were screwed in so tight, they were starting to strip the heads as I finally got them out. The pull chain which controls fan/speed also rubs against the glass covering. I feel this is a bad design flaw and it should be fixed so it does not rub on the glass. When they fix these issues, I can give it 5/5
