This is a fantastic garden lantern. Very durable and very well made. Think Asian garden lantern. The bulb housing is a frosted warm white/yellow so it's nice on the eyes. The illumination shines outwards and not down downward. There is no issue with it shining upwards and in your face, like I've seen complaints on other lanterns. The connectors work really well. I've installed 5 so far and have not had any of them break.

Yes, I am a DIYer and have never trusted myself enough to do anything "electrical." Turns out, I would've needed to purchase a $40.00 transformer (plus additional wiring in my case) in order to install just this one outdoor path light. Although I discovered this while reading the instructions which were located inside the box, I didn't give up right away...I went to HD and looked for this product on the shelf. And, yes, that's where I located four or five different rated transformers, sold separately and starting at $$39.99. I walked around the store and found someone but had to ask them to send someone to my aisle because I needed help. While waiting in front of the product, I decided to call Hampton Bay from my cell phone in an effort to get some help. Well, Hampton Bay couldn't help nor could an employee who we snagged as she was coming off of her break. I loved reading everyone else's positive reviews but I really don't have a review. The quality seems very nice, not cheap. No where on the outside packaging does it say, "Needs transformer, sold separately." I really think I ordered this by mistake. Oh, I did leave the store with two packages of Hampton Bay solar powered lights so not all was lost. :0)

Hampton Bay Low Voltage 3-Watt Path Light with Frosted Glass. Has an oil rubbed bronze patina finish with aluminum construction, powder coat finish and weatherproof electronics. Blends in extremely well with my exterior finish. This light has is a high-end look with the equivalence of 10 watts of light. The light is directed towards the ground for clear illumination. Easily installs with wire connector and heavy duty ground stake. When you prepare the hole for the stake be sure it is not larger than the ground stake. The LED light should have a life of 50,000 hours.

Solid quality construction, pricey but better than cheaper lights I've bought in the past. I was tired of replacing bulbs in my old lights, so these LEDs should avoid that. These are very bright -- more so than I expected or really needed. The package rates the brightness as "6 out of 10", but anything brighter would be for landing airplanes rather than home landscaping. I placed them 5 feet apart, which is very adequate for illuminating the walkway. The color is warm (not the bluish cold light of some LEDs), so I'm pleased with them. Assembly and installation were straightforward. The frosted glass is real glass (rather than plastic), which is a plus. I've only had them installed for a couple weeks, so time will tell how the finish holds up to weather in the long term. I've installed five of these lights so far, and was pleased enough that I bought five more for another area.

Sturdy, elegant, pathway light w/quality well beyond price. Makes yard look like a million bucks! It's a bigger size than most of my solar lights and unlike the cheap solar lights, the stake didn't falter when being shoved into the ground! Very easy to put in my beds and immediately elevates the look of the surrounding garden. In fairness to the light, I'm sure the ease of installation would be equal to or better than other lights of this type but I ordered this by mistake thinking it was a solar light! THIS IS NOT A SOLAR LIGHT, you can't just plunk it in the ground, it requires connection to other lights via wiring and then to a power source. If you're looking for a series of pathway lights that class up the place, this is your light!

Pictures don't do justice to the quiet elegance of these fixtures. These exude quality and style while performing far better than we had hoped. The lights are rated at 135 lumens but cast a very nice warm light quite a distance. We tried one in a small garden next to a path leading to our grill and it looked so good, we immediately bought 6 more to cover the remaining 75 feet of backyard and pool patio gardens.
Installation? Super simple. It took less than 3 minutes to assemble, install and connect each one of these fixtures to existing low voltage outdoor power lines. The cords could be a little longer, as they are pretty short and require the power line to be run close to the fixture. On the same circuit, we have a Hampton Bay landscape speaker that has a much longer cord, and would love to these do the same. The snap on power connectors are a real breeze to connect. We taped them as recommended in the instructions, so I'm not sure how well the plugs would last exposed to the elements, but ours have been through freezing rain and major downpours with no issue. At 3 1/2 watts each, you can put a ton of these on a single line, unlike the incandescent equivalents. The Hampton Bay transformers and transformer mounts are equally easy to install, but are sold separately, of course.
My wife is so keen on these, we'll now need to put another half dozen along the gardens in front of the house. We're delighted with these lamps and highly recommend them. A 5 rating almost seems too low for these units.

This outdoor frosted glass led lantern is so pretty and the oil rubbed bronze finish is beautiful. I have a small flower garden that I thought would look nice lit at night and this is the perfect solution. This light makes your property look more attractive. Installation and instructions are very easy. The light is bright enough but not glaring; just what you want along a pathway or in your flowerbeds or gardens. It was very easy to connect to my already existing line (low voltage landscape line; got it at Home Depot) and would be just as easy to set up as your first one with the proper power source. The thing that I love is that you can keep adding these lights to the power cord with just a snap as long as you have enough length to go where you want it to.
It is sturdy and well supported and looks durable enough to hold up in bad weather and winds etc. A very nice light with real glass, not plastic at a good price and the led light cost is minimal. I definitely recommend it!

This is a beautiful and well made path light. We had path lights along the paver walk in the attached picture but they were not as sturdy as this light and our two playful labs would start chasing each other and break the plastic lights. This light is certainly strong enough to take a hit without breaking but I am placing them in large flower pots along the path way as protection from my canine friends. I am spacing them about 10 feet apart and still have adequate light for the pathway. I ran the electrical attachment cord out of the bottom of the flower pots. These landscape lights put out a wonderful lighting effect through the frosted shade. making the connection to the buried main low voltage line was quick and easy.
