Brought one of those about 3 years ago. Now the plastic holders that keep the diffuser on, have broken. So now the diffuser hangs down. Unable to find replacement parts.

Step 2 diagram looked like all the wiring needed to be done above the housing. The written instructions and pictures from another reviewer confirmed this was not the case. It was the first time we tackled a project like this and had no common sense to go with. It took 4 of us to complete this project and I'm happy to say I'm not in the dark any more!

After a few months half went out. Loved it and I don't have the money to have it replaced. Electrician that put it up now wants 300 per hour no matter what. I am old and handicapped so I can't do it myself like I used to do.

Easy to install. Friend did the work; had installed the same ones at his house a while back. Didn't install a dimmer switch as my range hood provides lower light . Bright so some may want to do that but I'm happy as it is. Twi of these replaced 2 fluorescent 30 year old ones. In kitchen cooking area, definitely didn't want or need the color changing models. Only in for a few weeks, so can't comment on longevity.

Purchased this morning, to replace a flickering/dying fluorescent fixture of similar size/design. Product was missing one of the six clips that hold the wraparound diffuser onto the led light base. Didnt notice until I had it mounted on the ceiling, so I did not return it (it is only in my laundry room). Issues: diffuser has visible color/shadowing flaws, seen only once the light is on. The clips that hold the diffuser are clear plastic, and as such, direct light out through them, instead of just through the diffuser. If they were white (similar to the diffuser), that might solve the light bleed issue. Overall build quality poor, but it is from China. Too bad it costs over $100 at Home Depot. Wanted to load more pics to show issues, but site only allowed one...

I installed this myself. Everything was included. I did need to repair my ceiling first as the previous install was poor. What a difference! So bright! If you take your time you can install it. Some reviews stated that your ceiling had to be absolutely flat, not true. The small knobby feet at each corner will allow for any unevenness. Others said it is not dimmable. Not true. You have a list of specific dimmers included with the instructions that are compatible with this unit. I find no problems with the preparation, installation or operation. Great product for the money!

Not a problem installing this light. I had to repair the ceiling first because the last light installed was a hatched job. The drywall attachment provided was not what I used to secure the light bracket. I felt it would be better to use the metal butterfly devices. That’s just me. Some people said in their reviews that you need a perfectly flat ceiling otherwise the light bracket would not sit correctly. NOT TRUE! The feet on the bracket were great and made the bracket fit snug. Wonderful product Hampton Bay! Make sure you call the customer service number to have Home Depot register the product for warranty. Great customer service.!

This light is labeled dimmable but does not dim like my other lights which go down to 1% brightness. I expected this to be a standard. However this light only dims to about 50% brightness. At lowest brightness it flickers when the AC or other power switches on. 4000k lumens is equal to about 5 60 watt bulbs. At dimmest setting it seems to be about 2 60 watt bulbs

Very bright, made my large kitchen lighting 4 times better than my Florescent lights, very light weight which make the installation very easy, Took my husband less than 15 minutes, very modern, sharp looking ....

Affordable, bright lighting for kitchen. Install was straightforward despite somewhat bulky size. Dimming feature is nice bonus

This is a very bright light fixture! I wish they included a pattern in the box which can be transferred to the ceiling providing location to drill for screw mounting. I made my own pattern by placing the fixture upside down on top of paper, marked where the screw holes were to be inserted through the fixture which later would be attached to the ceiling. I then attached masking tape to the paper and fastened it to the ceiling making sure the pattern was parallel to a wall. Drilled anchor holes through the marks made on the paper pattern, pushed anchors in the holes then drove screws in part way. Position the 4 keyholes on the fixture over the screw heads and slid the fixture in place and tighten the screws. I did not need a 2nd person to help. Installed 3 days ago and it makes a major difference in my one side of the garage.

Bought (2) of these lights to be used in basement. The lights are easy to install and really light up the area. Great purchase.

We are very happy with our purchase this light. It was easy to install probably around 30 minutes from start to finish. What a difference from the old school fluorescent light that was up there before. There is plenty of light in the kitchen now. I highly recommend this product.

replaced a dark dingy weak light and gave life to my hallway

I would recommend this LED light if my second one (replacement) holds up longer than three weeks. My original light failed when half the lights failed to come on after less than a months use. There was voltage going in but none coming out on the dead side transformer. Home Depot was great about accepting the return and the only hassle was installing the light twice. I love the look and the brightness and if this unit last a long time, I would give it 5 stars.

This light fixture looks good and gives off plenty of light. It is more light than I had with a four florescent fixture of the same size that this one replaced. Conceptually it's easy to install but in practice difficult. You need two people to install but three would be better. Two people on step ladders to hold up the fixture to mark off where to drill the mounting holes and also while you are connecting the wiring. There is no template provided for marking the mounting holes. So if you aren't able to have it held up, you'll need to make your own template which I did from the carton it came in. The provided mollies are cheap. I purchased slightly larger ones at a hardware store that could handle more weight. Be sure to tighten them all the way first. Before installing the light, loosen them enough to slip the light over the screw heads or completely remove them and have the light held in place while you reinsert and tighten the screws. NOTE - I was able to put two boards across the tops of my cabinets to hold the light while I did the wiring. Two tall step ladders also would work.

Very bright....use of a dimmer control is a must. Easy to install. Used drywall screws into the ceiling beams. You don't have to use the pre drilled holes in the fixture....make your own where necessary. LIght is a fraction of the weight of my original fluorescent fixture with the heavy metal ballasts....was able to install by myself.

Easy to install and give if plenty of light. I would recommend having a dimmer switch to control the amount if light it puts off. The light feels all natural and doesn't hurt your eyes.

The installed product is great. The problem is in the installation. The drywall anchors included are junk. Get self-drilling dry wall anchors to get a secure installation. The only other issue is the knock-out for the entry of the ceiling wiring into the unit is not centered lengthwise, so unless you have extra long wiring from the ceiling, you may have to drill out a central hole. Also, there was no grommet included to protect the wiring coming through the sharp metal frame. I made due with electrical tape to fashion a protective barrier for the incoming wiring.

What a wonderful replacement for fluorescent lights. Better lighting and no buzzing of lights. The kitchen was quite dark; with the new fixture it is bright and no other lighting is necessary for any of the corners in the kitchen. Thanks for great lighting.

This light is very bright. Far brighter than my old 4 bulb fixture. If it is too bright for you add a dimmer since it is dimmable compatible.

Recommended with conditions. The clips that hold the diffuser up all broke after three years use causing the diffuser to crash onto the floor. Replacements have been ordered under warranty but there is a 2-4 week delivery time.

Best in all categories, brightness and efficiency. Easy install. Installed Two of these and 4 20 inch round ones cut my energy bill in half from old tube lights to these... wow what a difference.

I replaced 4 twin tube, 48" T8 flourescent tube fixtures with 4 of these. The new fixtrures throw twice as much light which was the whole intent, so I am really happy with that - the picture shows the new fixture on the right, old fixture on the left. They arrived in the manufacturers box (no secondary box) and are well packaged and protected. Installation was straight forward and and it took me 45 minutes a fixture to remove the old ones and unbox and install the new ones. My only gripe is that the knock-outs are poorly stamped and a struggle to get out AND do not come out cleanly - I ended up using big rubber grommets to protect the wiring from the ragged edge (easier than spending time dressing the edges). Other than that they seem well made. One of the pans was slightly bent but it was easy enough to straighten out and created no difficulties in attaching the cover. I would also say that the cover attachment is smart and secures it well. At the end of the day, I am very happy with the result.

This product has a possibly serious defect. Over a period of time the thermal expansion of the "puff" cover causes the retaining tabs to break thus causing the acrylic cover to drop. Do not stand under it. Which, of course, makes it quite useless as well as potentially dangerous.

This light is great once it's up. We struggled understanding the directions for putting the cover on but once figured it out, it was fine. Would love to see a paper template for marking the mounting screws. It's difficult to do this on a ladder and not mark up the ceiling.

The light failed upon initial installation. One bank of LED lights did not work from first turning light on. See attached picture.
