When The batteries were put into unit, in store for a customer: immediately the device began to have a funky smell and overheat. A Home Depot Employee pulled the batteries out which were scorching hot, actually melted the plastic off of one of the batteries. This Doorbell Unit has been processed as an RTV, it is a fire hazard.

Sometimes it is difficult to hear our main doorbell when we're in our family room. This doorbell vase now sits in our family room and is very loud so we never miss hearing the doorbell anymore! I would have given it 5 stars if the push button had been included. At this price I feel that the push button should be included. After receiving the push button it was very easy to sync it with the vase (once I realized that you need to remove the red tape covering the battery on the push button first - lol) It also does not include the 6 AA batteries that you need to make it work. It has adjustable volume and a few different chime choices which is a nice feature.

I was not sure but took a chance that my existing wireless doorbell system would be compatable with this unique fashion Vase design doorbell. To my delight after inserting 6 AA batteries in the bottom of the vase it took 10 seconds to set up the doorbell and it works with the other unit perfectly. My Hampton Bay wall mount unit is by the front door and sometimes when in other part of our home it is not loud enough to hear. But with this second simultaneous doorbell there is ample notice. I am a little hard of hearing so this makes it much easier for me. I like the vase design which can be moved almost everywhere in my home as it has a range of 150'. Looks great wherever you place it. Functional and eligant design.

I love it! Much cheaper installing a new wireless doorbell than rewiring the old one. Looks nice on the shelf amongst pictures and knickknacks. Sounds nice too. I just wish it was sold in stores and not just online.

Product has nice look and sound. Is easy to set up. HOWEVER.... FOR A DOORBELL NOT TO HAVE A BUTTON INCLUDED IS NOT A DOORBELL. IT IS JUST AN OBLECT. I have looked at the on line site several times since receiving a buttonless doorbell and can find no mention of button sold separetly. Do recommend this product but know the advertised price isn't what it will cost to have a working doorbell.

Does not come with door bell it is just a wireless speaker- desepitive web advertising. Door bell key pad is sold separate at $20.This was a waist of my time!!Buyer beware******

Brilliant but does not include the necessary doorbell ringer has to be found with great difficulty and does not have good mounting options (the ringer button I mean)

Although cute, it’s Way too expensive. It doesn’t say anywhere on the box that the door bell button is not included, that’s adds another $12.00+ to the outrageous price. Not worth it!!!

I purchased this doorbell and it stopped working within 3 months. I replaced the 6 batteries in the base and the battery in the button. There is a reset button and I tried that, and got 1/2 a chime then it died. Nothing. Don't waste your money.

I've purchased 3 different types of Hampton Bay wireless doorbells and they're all garbage. They stop working almost immediately.

This is normally $39.95. Luckily, I bought this item on sale for $29.95 and it was barely worth it at that price. The box makes it look as if it is a terracotta vase when it's actually a cheap, tacky looking grey plastic thing. Also, the box is very misleading when it comes to the remote. Having to purchase a separate wireless button at $14.95 is ridiculous. No wonder Home Depot has it as a discontinued sale item. There are far superior wireless doorbell options available, and they won't cost you $54.90 ($39.95 + $14.95)!

Our door bell (wired) stopped lighting up and working So i put in a new transformer whitch was 15 years. Old but the chime unit was only 2 yrs. old from home depot worked great when i installed it . So i bought this Vase unit looks great works very well very loud too . And the box does say (Button is NOT ) included . People just dont read the box . Anyway wife bery happy so im very happy works great and great price indeed !!!!!

Perfect replacement for the original wired door bell. This you can place anywhere in your home and it blends in with the decor.

My daughter just bought this today she went to install it at the house and the batteries immediately got hot and started to melt I see other person had the same problem I think that they should look into this

We have had this item for only a few weeks and the door button (which must be purchased separately) has only been pushed a few times; but so far, we are very pleased. The only installation involved is to put in six AA batteries, choose the type of sound you want, select the volume and synch it to a button. Some other reviews mention issues with sound volume when the unit is not near the door or when there are intervening walls. We don't have such issues since the unit is on a table right next to the door. Although it looks like a vase, it can't hold flowers. It's not visible in the illustration, but the speaker is in a bowl-shaped perforated surface about 1.5" below the rim in the center. There are three sound choices: one ding, standard two notes, ding dong, and Westminister chimes which are very realistic Choose which by pressing a button in the battery compartment. Adjust the volume by turning a knob in the battery compartment. The chimes can be quite loud. The batteries, selection button and volume knob are inside the lighter band. A twist of the lower dark dish-shaped section gives access. Couldn't find the dimensions in the specs but it is about 8.5" high with widest diameter of about 6.25" in the middle of the grey band, Best use with a Hampton Bay wireless button
