I was a bit nervous to buy this light given the other review that stated how dim it was. I was planning on replacing all flush-mount fixtures in my home with this, but I need bright lighting throughout. Heeding the other posters' advice, I purchased this fixture knowing a few adjustments would make it perfect. First, I used Rustoleum's Metallic Oil-Rubbed Bronze spray paint to change the fixture from brushed nickel to ORB, matching the rest of the hardware in our house. Then, I got a roll of the sticky aluminum tape that you'd typically apply to dryer vent pipes. I lined the inside of the metal shade with this shiny tape, hoping that it would help to reflect some light (at least more-so than the dull finish of the brushed nickel would). I then used two 11W LED bulbs that each put out 830 lumens and VOILA! It's a bright as day in my house! It's perfection with these tweaks, but if you're looking for something perfect that's straight out of the box, perhaps keep looking for alternatives. With the adjustments that I made it's a super cool and effective fixture with an industrial twist. I'll be buying six more for each room in our basement shortly.

Not much to it in regards to construction-so a bit overpriced. Install was easy. Put 2 LED bulbs in and get plenty of light. Looks decent and diffuses light well.

The reviewers who have said this gives off no light are 100% correct! I had a builder globe with one bulb. This was 100% brighter than this fixture. What a pain! We need to return the 2 we got for our kids rooms. Too bad as they look great - off! When they are on, the room looks like a jail.

This is a great looking fixture for the price. A few things to consider though...this is a completely sealed design, which equals no air flow around the bulbs. This fixture gets seriously hot with two 60W incandescent bulbs...I mean, too hot to touch any part of the fixture. I'm actually surprised this thing is CSA approved. With LED bulbs in, it's fine...not very bright though as other reviewers mentioned. Also, the mounting screws need to be super long to mount this thing...if your electrical box isn't flush to the ceiling, the supplied screws will be too short.

We bought 2 of these for our kitchen and they look GREAT! They have really brightened up our beautiful kitchen!

I love this light!!! Thankfully I bought it in the store before reading the reviews. Am so happy I did as it is perfect for my space. I highly recommend!

We thought this would be the perfect fit in our son's room. We loved the modern look of it, as well as the price tag. My hubby installed it no problem and when we went to turn it on...we couldn't believe how little light it gave off. Even with the brightest CFL's, the light it gives off is like a small, intimate glow from a pendant light at a dimly lit restaurant. So disappointing. Returning it.

Insulation was peeling off either side of the fixture as I was putting it up, which should have been my first sign of trouble. I put in the bulbs and screwed on the fixtures body and diffuser (inexplicably, these are separated, so if you have three hands, you'll have no problem screwing this on) and noticed right off that the diffuser blocks virtually all light, only a faint yellow glow makes it through, and that's with the maximum 60w bulbs. I left it up for a few days and one of the bulbs blew, then its replacement blew the next day. So, if you're looking to work your way through a lot of bulbs in a dimly lit room, this fixture is for you.

Looks good, but sadly works more like a single small spotlight. Light is focused straight down and leaves rest of room in a dark shadow. In addition, screwing the outer 'upside-down cake pan' shaped fixture into place is very difficult to do. Glass & metal are two separate pieces. Hard to hold them together with one hand, while screwing in the 3 tiny 1/4" screws with the other hand, while standing on an 8-ft ladder. it was a bit dangerous.

Save your money. I am not sure why, but very little light from the 2-sixty watt bulbs it takes makes it through the shade. Disappointed.

I wish I had read the reviews on this light before buying it. I purchased it on a whim while I was picking up some other fixtures and installed it in my kitchen. Even with 2 60 watt bulbs it was much dimmer than the prior 1 60 watt bulb fixture I had. It only shines light directly down and the sides of the fixture block it from shining around the room. Additionally, the frosted glass blocks A LOT of light. I even went back to the store and bought expensive LED light bulbs that were much brighter and the glass still blocked most of the light. I'm taking it down and returning it. I also had a problem with a broken screw and it felt cheaply made.

Like the other review, this fixture was missing a screw but the poor review is not for that. It is very dim. Between the frosted glass and enclosed sides, the light is extremely low even with two 60w bulbs. We were going to use it in a standard guest bedroom, but even with a secondary side lamp, I'd call this unusable.

2 out of the 3 screws used to hold the light together are missing. Cannot install.
