There's little to no installation with these - just put the batteries in and hang or wrap them around whatever you want. The battery box has a waterproof seal so these can be put outside, and a hook so it can be hung or mounted if needed. I was really surprised at the quality - the cage around each light is made of a nice metal mesh that is very sturdy - I haven't tried it, but they feel so sturdy I think they might stand up to be stepped on, which is not something I could say for any string lights I've used before. The lights are pretty bright, a single string gives off a pretty decent amount of light, more than I would normally expect from this number of lights.

Nice lights to add some flare to a room that could be used in a variety of settings. I'm using them in my daughter's room, but I would not necessarily describe them as just for kids. However as you can see in the pictures they do add a whimsical flare to an eight year old girl's room! What I like about them for this purpose is they are battery operated, so you are not constrained by the need to be near an outlet. In addition, I placed the switch at the top of her bunk bed so she can turn them on and off from the top bunk as she desires. The negative to that is that I don't know how often the batteries will require replacing. Two small complaints: 1) each string requires 3 AA batteries which makes the battery compartment heavy (smaller watch-type batteries might have been better) so the switch/battery compartment could be smaller and more easily mounted; and 2) there is a timer function that turns the lights off after six hours, but then turns them back on in eighteen hours. That's great to have them come on and off at a specific time each day, but I wish there was some flexibility to have the timer just turn off (not come back on automatically).

I got this 2-pack of string lights for the kids room as they are terrified of the dark and really wanted something to use as a dim nightlight. These work great and have just the right amount of light for them. They cast a soft, warm, yellow light so it's not too bright for night-time or is enough to create a cozy feeling in the evening. The metal design around the light is very decorative and pretty and seems sturdy. The lights run on 3 aa batteries for which we use rechargeable ones to reduce waste and expense. There is a single button to use that has 'TIMER', 'ON', 'FLASH', and 'OFF' functions. The timer function will allow it stay on for 6 hours and off for 18 which is nice to conserve battery life. Overall, very nice!

We needed to add a little light to our back deck and these are working out well. They arrived with extra fillers, so the boxes were not smooshed. No bulbs or cages were broken. They work as expected... PRO: timer feature on the batter pack is really helpful! CON: there is an unnecessary amount of slack on one end of the string. So almost half, have no lights. It’s a bit odd. If you are looking for a little light in a small space, these will be great. But if you’re expecting a lot of light, brightness from the bulbs I recommend upgrading to a commercial version.

This is the best led string lights. I love the fact that they are battery operated. I am always worried someone will trip over all the extension cords I need to reach an outlet. It rated for damp locations so I don’t have to remove it from the outside. It takes three double a batteries ( not included). There is 71/2 inches between each light. Very pretty and practical.

I got this string of gold led lights for my teenage daughter’s room since she seems to have a fascination with lights like this. She has many different types. You can see everything you really need to know in the photo. They are quite bright and even I think they are kind of cool. She loves them. Easy to hang up and built sturdy. You just plug them in. She wants more of them.

Lovely soft white lights that can be placed anywhere indoors to highlight an area such as seasonal decorations (Christmas!) or ambiance. Very convenient battery powered, with a simple push button switch to set to steady on, or blinking, or off. The intricate woven shape around each light is very attractive and durable. This is a great addition to household decorations.

Battery Operated Metal Indoor Integrated LED String Lights (10-Light) is very beautiful golden decorative lights.  It is detailed and well finished.  Golden decoration is shiny enough for the light.  Reflection from the LED light is warm   Three AA battery powers this LED light which enables to install this light anywhere that I want. It is quite fun to have this and decorate. In addition, this unit has on, off, timer, flash modes to suite different occasions.   

Very nice quality lights. The globes are metal and look very nice. The battery case is pretty chintzy though, I don't understand creating really nice lights and then not including a decent battery case. Installation was straight forward, using small gauge electrical staples I tacked the wires to the window frame so it was tight. There was enough wire left over to run it fully down the side of the window and attach the battery pack to the frame also. The light has three functions, one, blinking, and a 6/18 hour timer. While the light isn't enough to read by, it adds a nice warm light to our screened porch that is enough to see the floor and walk around at night. It runs on three AA batteries.

We really like the gold metal cages! This twelve foot in length ten LED lights are perfect for indoor and outdoor area as long as you place it in a covered location. Batteries not included so you'll need to purchase 3 AA batteries. The Hampton Bay golden three quarter sphere are delightful while the LED is illuminated. I placed it on our headboard and it certainly looks beautiful. There is a white button with four settings: Press 1 for timer, 2 for on, 3 for continous flashing lights and 4 for off. While on the timer setting it will turn off in six hours. The distance between each bulb is 7.8". I've included a few pictures of the string lights.

Those are very cute. Nice warm colors, super easy to operate, they instantly make the room classy. They are perfect for the holiday season. It is actually nice that they are working with three AAAs batteries: no need for ugly extension cords. The finish is passable, I had to recenter a few of the lighting elements but otherwise it is fine for an occasional use. Overall, a very safe purchase.

These Hampton Bay LED battery operated string lights are a beautiful addition to my home decor. They are suitable for hanging on covered porches or patios, but for now I will hang them in my kitchen. They have a timer feature which allows the lights to stay on for 8 hours and then automatically stay off for 18 hours. This pattern will continue to cycle. It also has a flashing light feature.

This string of lights has some definite pros and cons for its use. One positive for these lights are their ease of use. Since they are battery operated an outlet or extension cord is not a limiting factor on their use. The lights are bright and the gold metallic bulbs exude a festive feeling. The LED bulbs have options for blinking or steady glow. The downside is the length. There doesn't seem to be a way to attach more strands to make a longer string unless I could not find the way. So use is limited to one strand or else many independent strings each with its own rather large battery area .

Classy battery operated string lights. They look great, but I'm planning on using them in our deck canopy come summer, so I wasn't able to see how they fit yet. But the lights themselves look great, not like something you'd see in a dorm room. They run off three AA batteries and can be set on a timer, or flash. In timer mode the light stay on for about 6 hours, then turn off for 18 before turning back on. Personally, I found the flash to be a little garish, but I like the timer function, and that they're battery operated. The metal globes are really nice, my wife even commented that she could have put them around her smaller Christmas tree. The lights themselves are rated for a damp location, and can be used outdoors, but it is recommended to be in a covered location.

Love these lights and next summer will become part of our back porch decorations. For now I hung them up to show them off for this review and to supplement our Christmas decorations a little. The picture I was looking at when I ordered them does not do this product justice. Each light has a very decorative gold metal cage around it that not only looks good itself but also puts out a nice little light/shadow pattern. Being light weight and using a battery pack for power you can put these almost anywhere, just make sure the battery pack does not get wet. It also has four settings. Always on, flashing or timer, on 6 hours then off for 18, very nice feature to have if the battery pack is out of reach and of course off. The cord from the battery to the first light is long, at least 4 foot on mine. What I don’t like about these lights is there in no way to connect multiple strings together. Regardless, I think these lights are going to really dress up my porch for night times out by the pool.
