I bought Hampton Bay Low-Voltage 200-Watt Landscape Transformer for an outdoor project. I hired a professional to install around 60 low voltage LED light bulbs around the periphery of my house and around the trees. I needed 4 such transformers because of the magnitude of the project. It was easy to install and has great durability. The electrician has been using them for a long time and has seen these last years, without any problem. The transformers can be timed so the lights switch on and off automatically. I searched several stores, but this was the best deal in terms of price and quality. Highly recommended.

Crap product. Purchased June 2019, 21 months later aged poorly. The plastic all became brittle cracked open. Cover for the digital display is also cheap plastic oxidized and is not legible anymore. The metal ones, the older version lasted for 20 years.

Ideal for my needs
The transformer was easy to install and set up. It gives you a variety of programming options for any lighting scenario. Manual on-off; timer on-off; sensor on timer off; and sensor dusk-to dawn. I actual purchased 3 of these units so I could zone our landscape. Areas of the garden that didn’t need to be lighted all night vs. walks and driveway for safety and security. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to install or upgrade their landscape lighting. Good value and a quality product. Plus it has enough power to supply all the LED lighting you would ever need both now and future expansion

Flawed design
Do not buy this brand. The design is flawed due to it being made out of plastic and the screws eventually detaching exposing the entite case. I though it was one bad purchase but I exchanged and bought an additional one with same outcome. They are in a safe location away from lawnmowers or being bumped. Main issue florida weather melts the inside where the screw connects the case. All three didnt last more than 6 months but broker after the 90 days return policy. Nice!

Really straight forward installation. Interesting feature is the clock holds current time. So if you want to put it on a smart/wifi switch, you can turn the power off and not lose your time on and off settings. Worth the extra ten dollars to get 80 more watts over the 120 watt unit. Unclear why it takes another $50 to move to the 300 watt unit.

This is a nice transformer with a slim profile. It's about the size of a thick book, measuring 8.5" x 5.5" x 2.5". In one of my pictures you can see it compared to my existing transformer, which is smaller, but only has a 100W capacity. The only disadvantage I see is the power cord is relatively short, only 3', so you need to set it up relatively close to your power source. One of my transformers I have set up in my garage window has a 6' cord, which allows a little more flexibility. If you are using a straight timer, this isn't an issue. If you are using the photocell, that device has a 6' cord to connect back to the transformer, so you have some nice flexibility there. You just have to make sure you can mount it close to your power outlet. The unit has a powerful red display, which you'll either want to cover with some tape or face away from your seating area or window, as it can be a little glaring at night. The unit has nice options to use the photo cell to turn lights on and off automatically, or turn on or off via at a set time. I set mine to turn on at dusk and then off at 11:00 pm.

I ordered this landscape transformer to replace one that I had where you had to set the clips to an on/off time. I installed it in under 10 minutes (I had to drill a new hole for the mounting screw). The instructions are pretty straight forward. You attach the the wires for the lights and the wire for the light detector thing. Then you set the time and choose where you want it to go on at a specific time or on with the darkness. You choose when they turn off, either a specific time or until sunrise. It works great and I'm happy.
