These solar lights are very easy to install on either a 4x4 or 6x6 post. They give off a nice not-to-bright light. I liked the fact that they are constructed of metal so they won't break down like prior plastic solar lights we had installed around our deck.

We purchased six lights for the posts and railing along our newly rebuilt deck and the lights are great. The two part base was easy to adapt to the differing conditions. The 4x4 base worked on the existing decorative post cap. For the deck railing it was easy to cut a piece of one-by lumber to attach to the existing railing and then mount the new light to that using the 6x6 base. The light intensity from these is subdued. It is just enough to see by in the evening without being overly bright. You are not going to read a book with these lights, but for sitting out on the deck in the evening having a nice conversation they are just what we were looking for. I did have a manufacture issue with one of the lights. I called their help number, and they walked me thru troubleshooting the problem. When that did not work, they sent me a replacement unit, no problem.
