This fan is identical to the fan we have in the great room, except that one has wood blades and is remote controlled (16' ceiling). I was amused at one poster who complained about the plastic blades--what part of 'this is an OUTDOOR fan' did they miss? Build quality for the price is excellent, exposed hardware is SS and the reversing switch has a rubber cover. I really like the switch included I also noticed that one reviewer was upset with the fact that the speed control goes from 3 (high) to 1 (low). They obviously are clueless about the fact that the speed on this fan is capacitive controlled and so when you first switch it on you want maximum power to get the rotor going, then you reduce speed from there.

The answer to the question about the fan falling off the downrod is unsatisfactory. I watched the video two times. I have read and reread the installation, use and care manual many times. None of these tell the installer to line up the holes in the downrod to the safety tab. In fact there is no information in any of these about how the safety tab should work. What should an installer do if, after tightening the downrod, the holes do not match up. Unscrew the fan until the holes line up? This is clearly a design flaw and a safety hazard. Most fans use a cotter pin and hairpin clip to secure ceiling fans. I have talked to customer service and GP Warranty and no one can tell me how the safety tab works or why a cotter pin and hairpin clip cannot be added to the downrod.

The actual fan is absolutely great. Love it. DON'T USE THE INCLUDED SCREWS! They sheared off and the fan dropped to the ground a day after installation. We're lucky no one was sitting under it. Used better screws for the reinstall and now everything is great.

I only give this fan any stars is because of its very nice appearance. For a fan of this size (60 in) it moves very little air. High speed on this unit feels like low speed on most any other ceiling fan. I bought two of them, very disappointed.

We had this fan installed outside on our covered porch & absolutely love the style & it cools the area where we needed it.

I was a little concerned before buying this fan because of the reviews. we bought this in February 2021. I have installed several ceiling fans in my life and this one not unusual or difficult compared to the others. I was also concerned about complaints regarding airflow. The blades are slightly curved so the fan produces a nice breeze ONLY if the switch is set to direct airflow down from the fan. also, I used a Lutron fan switch that matches my other switches and did not use the switch that came with the fan. No issues with the Lutron switch.

We live in a sub tropical area and replaced a 32 year old Hunter Original with this fan. We purchased a 4’ downrod in Oil rubbed bronze and used an existing bracket to hang from a rafter. So far, so good. It moves a lot of air. I see some purchasers claim it doesn’t, but I’m guessing that maybe they need a longer downrod, as this one moves a lot of air in our 20’ x 20’ bedroom. Our windows are open 24/7 and September will tell whether this fan moves enough air, as that is when the wind stops. As far as looks go, its beautiful. We’ll see whether it holds up to our harsh Caribbean climate!

Beautiful fan. More light gray than white but fit with our modern white and gray living room furniture very well. Have had many compliments. Did not come with the light, so had to buy that separately. Home Depot had the attachment, no problem. Everything in stock. We are not DIY’s, so had an electrician install and had no problems. Remote is great. Highly recommend, nice addition to our condo.

Love these fans! I searched and searched and was happy to find these especially local. These seemed to put off enough air circulation in our rooms.

Bought this for my family room, looks very nice. However, it is very slow, even on its fast setting. Yes, you will feel a bit of air movement, but it will be like a low setting on a regular ceiling fan. Bigger is not better in this case!

The fan is fine after multiple trips on my arc-fault circuit breaker...assume it was trash in the motor from the factory. The circuit only carries a total of 4 amps with fan included. The supplied switch is of low quality and I expect it will fail before the fan. I hope Home Depot will produce a suitable replacement. Master Electrician 40+ years.

I was told these ( 2 ) fans would have great airflow. They do not. They seem like they are running on med fan speed. We have them in our patio. Beautiful they are. But I need airflow. So disappointed with these fans. It does have a airflow (CFM) of 6223 it says . But I highly doubt it. We had them installed by a electricien March 3rd 2020.

I bought this fan to use on my patio because the specs report it as moving the most amount of air. It fails at that. On highest speed it moves far less air than my 52" fans. It does look great and is very quiet. Installation was simple, but I've installed fans before. Even if you haven't, the on-line installation video will guide you. The wall control unit was disappointing. It's not engineered well and has a cheap look and feel. The 800 number on the installation manual is useless. Long hold time, ultimately answered by a representative will very little actual product knowledge.

I installed mine under a balcony. It’s true that it doesn’t spin as fast as the other outdoor fans I have BUT, due to the pitch of the blade it moves a good bit of air. Put it on low speed and enjoy a very slight breeze. Great on a cool morning. Put it on high to move some air! No, it’s not going to blow your wig off, but it does a decent job. I almost took it back because of some of the negative reviews I read AFTER getting home with it. But I really wanted it to work because I LOVE the looks! Reminds me of an airplane prop! The ABS blades seem really sturdy so they shouldn’t sag over time. I’m OK with them. Great Fan! Hope it last a long time! We’ll see.

I put this into my kitchen area. It does the job .

Horrible just horrible. No airflow at all...Installed on my patio and doesnt even feel like a fan is on...looks nice....but no breeze at all... on high setting...just terrible...only a month old and looking to replace, i would rather not even turn it on completely a joke how slow this unit is

I had bought matching fans throughout my house, and needed one for my back porch that wraps around the house. I thought that I would have to seal the wood blades, but to my surprise the blades were plastic. Makes for easier cleaning! Looks just like my other ones. Note others in our house are on adjustable fan speeds this one is not. One speed of high. But I love it! Picked up in person from Home Depot. I have had the other fans for almost two yrs and have had this one up for about a month now.

We bought all new ceiling fans for our house during a remodel. We bought this fan in all sizes for different rooms; a total of 5 fans (1-68”, 1-60”, 1-56”, 2-48”). The 60” is the only on that comes with the cheesy ABS fan blades. I can understand that is what makes it “wet rated” but why make an entire line of fans with one size fan that has completely different blades. They aren’t even close to looking the same. Also, the angle of the fan blades makes it possible to see the top of the blade which isn’t even finished. This is Horrible! We will be contacting customer service about resolving this problem. Replacing it with the 56” or 68” would result in a too small fan and dead switch or too large a fan and dead switch. The fans are really nice and have lasted well, but having bought them all at the same time to match, you would think they would have done a better job at making the fan blades match.

I bought 3 of these fans as I have a very long porch. My ceilings are 9' and the air these fans move is nothing compared to all other fans I've purchased. The manual mentions NOTHING about the blue wire which I know now it is for the light kit. We picked this model because we wanted an outdoor fan with a remote control since our switches are inside the home. The box reads "remote control included" but there's no remote and the fan has no receiver for a remote. It only comes with a wall switch that only operates the fan and not the light kits. The switch is labeled wrong. 1 is high, 2 is medium and 3 is slow!! These fans look great but they're nothing but garbage. returning them immediately!!!

We love our fan. Yes it turns slower than most fans but it moves a lot more air. The only problem we have is when it's on high it slows way down then speeds up again.

Where do I even start? This is HORRIBLE, but since we threw the box away already, we’re probably stuck with it. The “ABS blades” are UGLY. Altura fans are always wood blades that are beautiful, except apparently for this one. We’ve owned a total of NINE in three houses over about twelve years, and needed one smaller than 68” for an office...the 48” with wood blades was too small. We added the Hampton Bay universal light kit because they’ve changed the Altura light kit to a plastic dome, but apparently ALL light kits DON’T WORK unless the fan is on HIGH. After a call to their customer service, that is how it’s supposed to work, and they claim that it’s because we don’t have separate wiring for the fan and light. NONE of the other Altura fans required this, and the control of the separate light and fan was controlled by the control module. And don’t get me started on the wall “remote.” IT IS THE UGLIEST! What happened to the standard remote that goes with these?? We just went to great expense to change out all of the light switches in the home to white Decora switches before putting the house on the market, but this wall-mounted control is BLUISH WHITE and doesn’t match anything...plus it’s BEVELED like cheap Vegas motel decor. And you better hope you have paint...because the wallplate is smaller than a standard wallplate, so you’ll have to match the paint (see picture). I HATE THIS FAN!

I loved the look of this fan. Seems sturdy, but built in China so anybody's guess. I am an expert do it yourselfer! And, this fan was a pain in the rear end! Actually easy to put up, but the other parts a nightmare. I have a 3 way switch that operates my fan they show only one way to wire it, The Wall control has no common for a 3 way. I call customer support, they have no clue. It comes with a wall switch; the tell me it will not work with a 3 way wall switch. Why does it not state anywhere in the description that the wall switch will not work with a 3 way light switch , a common thing with fans, this is not isolated or uncommon? The thing should come with a master Control switch that can work on a 3 way circuit. I give them a suggestion! Can it be wired, without the wall switch and I just keep the wall switch in the on position and use the remote, that is supposed to be with the fan, to turn it on and off? I am placed on hold, “yes that will work.” Okay wire light kit no information on light kits, comparable lights, it has an odd base, minimal information in instructions, that even an astrophysicist could not glen information from. Back on the phone with customer support to find out what fixtures will work, the only one the Home Depot site is an indoor open bowl type. This was going on a porch, so I want a sealed fixture so bugs, and birds will not nest in it. It took a long time but got that figured out, no separate wire for that the light fixture, have to cap that wall switch wiring. Okay, my box said my fan comes with a Wall Control (switch) and a Remote Control was included. Words have meaning. a Remote Control is a Remote Control, Wall Control is a Wall Control there was no Remote Control in the box, to turn the thing on and off since I can't use the wall switch that does not work with a 3 way light switch. Back on the line with customer support, "oh your fan does not come with a remote,” well it says so on the box, “no that means the wall switch.” A wall switch is a wall switch, a remote is a remote. In your online descriptions they are very different! I had to send photos of my box... Got that worked out! The actual installation was simple after that. It does not work as we initially intended, but it does work. I hope it keeps on working! Seeing they build these in China the design team really needs to work on how people actually use these fans, how they are set up in real homes, not how they think they should be set up and build them accordingly. All the reports I read are classic design mistakes of not properly testing in the real working environments, giving a person the instructions to work with and making adjustments to them before printing them. They should design having a number of regular people install them in their own homes report the issues having a local engineer realize , wow our switch will not work in a home with 3 way switches, maybe we should ship it with a 3 way switch, instead of having a fan, and having an engineer hallway around the world interpret their way they think it should work. This is a case of Ready fire aim!

Great fan really moves the air. Pretty and modern look highly reccomend this fan for quality and style along with air movement its better than any other fan we have owned including high end brands.

Kind of a mixed review. Worked fine for three years. Then just stopped working. I do want to be clear I had it running nonstop for about three years.

fairly easy to install for do it your selfers. the fan blade screws and nut kept jumping out of my all thumbs hands. fan blades give better than expected air flow.

We purchased two of these fans. We had them both professional installed by a master electrician. Neither fan worked with the switches provided in the box. The fan only worked when the switch was on the lowest speed (but it ran at high speed). When we attempted to adjust the speed with the switch the fan stopped. We don't know if the switch are bad or the fans are bad. Very frustrating that we are spending more $$$$ trying to get these fans to work.

The fan motor runs quiet and the blades move a lot of air! Also, if you put the unit on a three speed wall switch, you can get a wider variety of speeds using the on-board motor speed control (the chain control connected to the motor). Fast speed on both the on-board motor control and the three-way switch is way to fast! But there are a lot of options with these two controllers in series.
