Bought this vanity less than a year ago paint is chipping and worn off all over front of vanity looks terrible now

ATTENTION: SAVE YOUR SANITY!!! DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!!! The legs collapsed under its own weight, plus the other defects mentioned by other buyers.

This vanity was the perfect color, size and configuration. The price was great too, but when I got it I was not impressed. I had it in the box waiting to be installed and then covid happened and so I got to putting this together late. The front door has always not closed properly and it was pre-assembled. Also the paint finish started chipping the first week it was installed. So sad because I love the look of this, just not durable AT ALL.

This vanity is poor quality! The vanity arrived out of square and the cabinet doors will not match up (reference the pictures). The door that needs to be lowered is as low as it will go and the door that needs to be raised is as high as it will go. There is missing paint on a small portion of the vanity (see pic). It looks like it was rubbed off. The drawers do not open and close smoothly. Perhaps it is from the whole vanity being out of square. All in all, I'm disappointed in the purchase and wish I would have spent a couple hundred dollars more to get a better quality vanity!

We purchased this vanity just under a year ago when we moved into our new home. We were pleased with the initial appearance of the vanity, but the quality is absolutely TERRIBLE. Within weeks, the middle drawer stopped opening properly, the cabinet door began to warp, and the paint began wearing off all over the front of the vanity. We are a family of 3 - it's just me, my husband, and our 9-year-old daughter, so the vanity certainly hasn't endured excessive use/wear. After purchasing the vanity, separate countertop, and paying to have a plumber professionally install the sink, we paid thousands of dollars. We certainly never imagined we'd be forced to shop for a new vanity in less than a year. Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This vanity is a complete waste of money. I wish I had listened to the more critical reviews.

Well, after an exhaustive search for a decent vanity around $500, this was not it! It is pretty obvious that Home Depot has absolutely NO Quality Control down there in Mexico. It's not even Covid related as this unit was manufactured on September 3rd. There is significant gaps in the trim work on the doors. The paint is almost a chalky white. The drawer slides are so off that once you open draw, it will not close(see photo). The swing door is mis-aligned that it is rubbing on slider below to the point that it scratched and removed paint. I know you can adjust the hinges, but the damage has already been done. A little foam paper would have avoided that, again, Quality Control. The top right side panel is higher than the corner post (photo). Any countertop placed will result in a gap between post and countertop. This unit is going back to store. No amount of fixing will make it worth $500.

This vanity is beautiful and was a great purchase for me. After weeks of looking at different sites for what I wanted, Home Depot was the only one to have this style and price. It is a great value. I am doing a major renovation of two bathrooms and ordered two of them. When they arrived I was not ready for them to be installed so the delivery men put them in my garage. They were packaged so well that I had my installer come by and open the boxes so I could at least look at and inspect them. I ordered them with beautiful vanity tops. My installer is a handyman and put them together in a couple hours. My bathroom was instantly upgraded, especially going from single sinks to double sink vanities. The Chocolate color is great too, not too dark and with warm tones. I love the drawer spaces on the bottom and the depth of the drawers. This was the best decision I made going with these cabinets. They will be enjoyed by me and when I decide to sell in a few years the bathrooms will already be upgraded.

This piece was beautiful when we first bought it. However, after about 1 year the drawers started to be uneven & hang crooked & the finish started to peal off. Now, it looks horrible & need to replace the entire unit!

Beautiful piece, finally was able to install this in our new bathroom. I enjoying having all functioning drawers. Still need to put all our stuff in it, since the bathroom isn’t isn’t quite finished yet.

Seemed like a great cabinet when it arrived. Heavy duty. Drawers worked well. When I started looking closer and installing it then there were issues. Was removing a door to move and install and one of the door hinges broke off. The hinges were not installed well at all. Small screws and not the best workmanship. Worked around it and installed. The product was supposed to come with the drawer pulls and knobs and it didn't. I have gone through all the packing material several times and nothing. So will need to go buy others.

This is a piece of junk. Whomever put this together thought that it was OK if the cabinet doors don't line up. It's not even close, the door on the right side is 1/4 inch lower than the door on the right. It's so bad that it actually scrapes the framing along the bottom, scratching the wood. Garbage.

I am very pleased with the amount of items that fit into this spacious bathroom vanity. The vanity color is vibrante white with nickel polished pull and push handles. The lower drawer is perfectly large and fits a grand amount up supplies. The vanity measures 36 X 21.61 X 34.41. Such an impressive looking vanity with one large bottom drawer, two right side hidden drawers, and two transitional doors. Make sure to follow the important steps in installing the legs, levelers and the hardware. I came across having to adjust the hinge to allow the doors to level by following the step seven on the use and care guide. It's an overall solid, ample space, and suitable for our 5 member family. It comes fully assembled and had it installed easily within under 20 minutes. We are enjoying it!

Love this cabinet. Sturdy for a quartz heavy countertop. Very modern and looks great in my new bathroom. Lots of drawer space.

For the price this is only mediocre quality. Shows a distinct lack of attention to any details (see the photos). It isn't big stuff but it all adds up to mediocrity. The handle holes all broke through to mar the finish inside. Gaps in the joints in several places. The finish looks fine from normal distances but up close you can see and feel inconsistency. Some products made in Mexico have fine quality but some such as this show lack of quality control. Some others have noted door/drawer fit adjustment problems but on this one I could adjust them out. One critical step is to be sure the unit is fully leveled to remove any twisting forces that could also effect door alignment. The back of the cabinet is full open so there is plenty of space to accommodate various plumbing placements.

Water make the stain peel up and it looks awful overtime. Its made to be around water, but it is not waterproof at all.

This vanity looked ok online but once it was delivered it was a complete waste of time. The packing fell apart loading the cabinet in my SUV. The drawer slides were broken. The cabinet is made from paper veneer over particle board and had many holes and wrinkles in the paper. The particle board had exposed edges all over the place so makes me think the vanity will expand in a high moisture environment like a bathroom. Cant imagine what would happen if it actually got wet. This design has square legs and when you tighten the legs down they are either too loose or not square with the frame. The drawers are made of particle board and paper veneer and easily get damaged. The stone top was a complete waste as well. I thought it was real stone, instead was some sort of engineered stone with an artificial veneer wrap. The faucet holes were tiny compared to what else I have seen. I bought the matching storage cabinet too and it came in completely trashed. How Home Depot allows such garbage materials in their lineup is surprising. Save your time and go somewhere else...

If you are a contractor, save yourself the hassle of having to remove this after the finish starts wiping off. The company will make you buy another one or rip this one out and leave your client without a sink in their bathroom. Not to mention the fact that you can't get paid because the finish start coming off a day after you install it and before you are done with the bathroom.. I would recommend to go to a local cabinet maker as then at least you can see the quality of their work and have them fix it, if this type of stuff is happening. Or suffer the consequences of going though this corporate America lack of customer service type of situation. To bad I can't upload the video of the finish wiping off the unit.

Its cheap, drawer glide no longer works and the finish is flaking off the tops of the doors and drawers after just over a year

My wife and I run a small home rental and renovation business in southwestern Pennsylvania. I am the main renovator and maintenance man. In that position, I typically perform and oversee a large number of kitchen and bath renovations. For our higher-end renovations, I usually build our own kitchen cabinet carcasses and vanities in my woodshop and depending on the situation, we either do our own stone vanity top fabrication or we contract it out to an area professional we've worked with for a number of years. In short, this is something I might put in a rental or a quick flip, not one of our better renovations even in this area, where housing prices tend to be very low. It looks pretty nice, but the quality just isn't there compared with custom cabinetry work, of course. The first thing I'd like to draw attention to is easily shown in Figure 1 attached to this review -- if you want to put a deep undermount sink in this unit, you're going to have to offset it. The construction makes it impossible to do likewise. Maximum size on an offset rectangular undermount sink looks like 16 x 22 here The second thing I'd like to point out is shown in Figures 2 and 3 -- most of unit is built out of laminated particleboard joined with pocket-hole screws. Your unit may arrive cracked in the back on one side, as mine did. Figure 3 is a picture of the main top support that you're supposed to screw to the wall on a permanent installation. More than a bit flimsy here. Figure 4 shows something several reviews have complained about -- the doors on the pre-assembled unit do not line up. The vanity is made with standard cup hinges. First assemble the unit, then level it, then install it into the wall. These three steps will minimize issues that the adjustment screws on the hinges should then be able to handle. The doors themselves are surprisingly well-constructed, standard stile and rail construction. Although they are far sturdier than the rest of the unit, the stain finish on them will of course wear faster than the laminated finish on the particle board of the rest of the unit. Figure 5 shows the main weakness of the unit , Many of the working tolerances -- space between doors, gaps between drawers, are all too tight for a prefabbed unit not built to exacting specifications under strict quality control. The drawers take a lot of adjustment and therefore refinishing after installation to get right, or they'll rub against each other. It's clear that the manufacturers wanted to make an impressive-looking unit, but putting in the work to make the cabinets open cleanly and the drawers slide easily like a more expensive unit was just too much. As such, this vanity is clearly overpriced. All in all, again, this could go into a rental with the understanding that it would not be a 20-year installation, or it work well for a quick flip, but you wouldn't lay a nice slab of inch-and-a-quarter granite with a top-quality sink and faucet over it and sell it in a house that would be snagged and appraised by top people. The vanity looks nice but ultimately, its functionality clearly does not live up to its looks.

I was doing a complete house remodel and ordered this cabinet early because it was on sale. When it arrived, made sure there was no damage and it sat in the garage for a couple of months. Well, as I was taking off the blue tape the secured the doors shut, it peeled off the finish. What? This was the first indication that this was not a quality product. Second, none of the doors and drawers lined up. My husband builds furniture for a living and had a really tough time getting them to line up properly. Finally, after 6 months of use, more of the finish has worn off, the drawers don't always close properly, and it is sagging in the middle so we are going to have to buy another leg to put in the center. I have purchased three different vanities from homedepot.com and this was the worst. The other two, were great. From my experience, I would never buy this again no would I recommend it to anyone. In my picture, you can see the center support that we had to put in because the two doors wouldn't close properly because it was sagging. And I don't have a lot of stuff in the center of the cabinet!

The cabinet looks great, and is construction feels good as well. It comes with high quality hardware . Easy to put in a drop in sinK or countertop and vessel. It is also stylish and modern, the color looks great. The measurements are as described. Overall it is of high quality and I think it will last for a very long time, I also like that it was packaged well since it came in without scratches or dents.

The workmanship going into this cabinet was not that good. I understand that the instructions state that the doors could be out of alignment when received because of shipping, but not that I should have to re-drill holes to get it aligned. In the attached pictures the doors and drawer front are all out of alignment. Even following the instructions I couldn't get the doors completely aligned. The drawer front I had to re-drill 3 of the 4 holes to get it from touching the door beside it. Other than that we still like the way the cabinet looks. Leveling was a snap and so was the installation. I just need to put some filler strips on the sides and it will be done. The drawer slides are standard. They slide fine in and out and easy to remove and put back in.

This is a gorgeous vanity, and I wish it were constructed better. The drawer door was attached crooked and I had to reattach it so that the drawer would close without banging the cabinet door. But worst of all is that the finish is already peeling and cracking from the humidity in the bathroom. After four months of use in a two person household I find that obscene. You need a better finish on this item. Some serious polyurethane that penetrates the wood and withstands water, not this weak paste that was applied in the factory. I resorted to varnishing the cabinets with Marine grade Spar Varnish in the hope that it saves the vanity. I have to put my house on the market, I don't want a brand new, falling apart vanity turning off people!!! See the photos I've attached and be warned. It's a GORGEOUS vanity, but it has multiple flaws and if you are handy you can make this work for you. But you get what you pay for, I'm afraid. Also, the idea of asking for a replacement is beyond abominable. They would send a similarly poorly finished and constructed drawer that I would again be dissatisfied with. Simpler to fix it myself and warn anyone else who may not be willing to get their hands dirty.

The vanity may be well made but was VERY poorly assembled. I was extremely disappointed with the workmanship. None of the drawers or doors line up in any dimension, and attempts to adjust them with the adjustable hinges was futile as the pairs of adjustable hinges were at the maximum in opposite directions - even if the top hinge could move down the bottom one was all the way in that direction, essentially making any adjustment impossible. The doors were crooked, and the top drawer does not close all the way. I would expect this from a cheaper piece of furniture. Of course I did not notice this until my contractor had already installed it, and I'm certainly not going to send it back prepaid for warranty repair, nor am I going to have a new one installed. I would not recommend buying this vanity or anything in this product line. Terrible purchase.

Beautiful, solid and modern! Exactly what I was looking for. Shipped quickly and in great condition. The only thing I was disappointed in is how the drawers line up even after adjusting and readjusting.

The beautiful Home Decorators Collection Claxby 36" Vanity Cabinet is sleek and stylish with its tapered legs and chrome hardware. It's beautiful enough to be alongside other fine furniture in your home. The cabinet arrived safely by home delivery and completely assembled except for attaching the door/drawer handles and the legs. All the extra special attention to wrapping and protecting the cabinet for shipment is really impressive and appreciated because the gorgeous chocolate vanity arrived in perfect condition. It has a large amount of storage space and I especially love the storage capacity of the two drawers. Very sophisticated cabinet and I absolutely adore it.

This vanity is more like a well-crafted piece of furniture than a vanity I expect to find in a bathroom. The six side drawers, two bottom drawers and center cabinet allow us to store more than our old and outdated vanity that was original to our condo. The drawers glide smoothly, the feet are sturdy and we really appreciated that the manufacturer kept the back open for easy access to plumbing. We ended up not using the leg levelers because it felt too tall with them on--we prefer the 34" exact height. I replaced the knobs for personal preference, as seen in the posted photos. For the price, I would have liked this vanity to come with the sink, but the construction is solid so I'm glad I splurged on the price. Also, I love this color--it's true to the rich, dark brown as seen on the product page.
