Parkridge 52 inch fan really looks great and has all the features I was looking for. The light is not very bright which is my only complaint. The light is dimmable but even at the highest setting its not very bright. The fan operation is smooth. It has a switch for Summer and Winter operation. The fan blades can be used with either side facing down. The installation took me some time but it was pretty straight forward. The remote control receiver fitment in the hanging bracket was a little tight because of the wires that come down from the j-box. I really like how it looks and serves the purpose in our living room.
This Parkridge 52 in. Ceiling Fan from the Home Decorators Collection (HDC) looks to be a pretty good fan. This is our third HDC fan (all different models), and we like them all. We like the Natural Iron finish and this fan moves plenty of air for the 10 ft. x 12 ft. spare room. The integral dimmable LED light, rated at 3000K, provides plenty of nice, warm (easy on the eyes) light. The “Comfort Breeze” setting allows for random automatic change in speeds. However, we find that high speed is too much for this room. The remote control can be used to manually turn the fan on and off, set speeds, and operate the light. It also has a built in timer switch that can be used for 2 hr., 4 hr., or 8 hr. run times. These HDC fans are very easy to install. I especially like the way the blades install. Replacing the old fan was pretty much a piece of cake. Back when I rewired our house I ran 14-3 w/ground, using switched circuits for all ceiling fans. Since everything in these new fans is operated by the remote control they only require a 2 wire w/ground circuit. No special ceiling fan/light switches are needed. I suppose one could eliminate switches altogether, but I prefer to use a simple SPST wall switch. These HDC fans all run with no wobble, rattle, clicks, etc. However, like one of our other HDC Fans (an indoor model), this one has a noticeable motor hum at all speeds, especially high. Both my wife and I are nearly 6 ft. tall, and the reverse switch mounted on top is a bit difficult to reach, but this is not a terrible drawback. Overall, this is a nice fan.
