Perfect flooring
I chose this flooring because its color is close to that of the stairs in my house. But I don’t like its sheen is matt, so I applied three clear coats of polyurethane on each plank before putting them down on the floor. The result is gloss and shine which really is what I want. The additional polyurethane coating also increases the thickness of the top protective layer. I found the hair line scratches could be sanded off and reapply the polyurethane to make them disappear.

    Homeledgend flooring and install
The flooring and actual installers were fine. I love the color of the actual floor and it matched our log cabin wood very well. Here are the reasons I didnt give it 5 stars. Mearurement team called and cancelled original measuremement day. It took many phone calls and 3 weeks to get another measurement date. In the meantime, the installing special expired and the manager at the Home Depot store refused to honor the price at the time we went in to order. We ordered moldings to match the flooring and they had to be special ordered and were quite expensive, so this added another 3 weeks before we could set up an install date. We were extremely unhappy with the moldings. They were various different shades of color and some because the tone is so different stick out instead of blending in. We could have bought them at odd lots and got a better match. The entire ordering and setting up the install was a long and aggrivating process. Be sure to review the quote we were able take off over $1000 by doing so.

    easy install and good quality
So far so good. I love the look, it matched our old real white oak floors down stairs. I installed about 750 sqft in my attic. The subfloor was not always flat but this floor made it easy to install. I used a thicker underlayment and this was perfect. The boards are easy to cut in a chop saw with minimal dust compared to full mdf. There are random sizes in each box but once you open a couple you will see the pattern. Mostly full pieces and half pieces. With a couple of 1/3 and 2/3 pieces. The construction is plywood on bottom and the veneer on top with MDF in the middle. The grove and tongue are MDF so be careful not to drop them on edge. The T

Even though it’s easy to install ad looks beautiful at first, they do not last. It’s just my husband and I and two small dogs and after two years, the flooring is scratched, scuffed and discolored. No harsh chemicals were used to clean the floor but the quality is so lacking, the floor just didn’t last.

Absolutely love this flooring. Buying more to use in another project. We got the light brown though, as you can tell, it has an orange-ish undertone. Perfect for our MCM home decor. Wonderful quality, does not look like laminate and the wider planks is another huge winner! People with dogs, this stands up in durability. No scratch marks etc. I would not use this is a wet area, but why would you want to? Anyways, just buy it, you will not regret your decision.

The floor is beautiful I didn't install it so I cannot provide a rating on the ease of install, but it lived up to the tiny sample I took home -- it blends with my other solid hardwoods nicely. I had to take a star away because I can already tell upkeep is going to be an issue every little thing shows and can potentially alter the finish if left for more than 5 minutes.

Installed 400 sq feet of this over the weekend. It went in very well. All of it was in great condition. All 20 cases of it. The important thing is buying extra for waste and to regulate the cutting off the end next to the wall. Generally, I trimmed up the tongue end, then would start the next row with the cut off piece.

This wood flooring looks beautiful in my home. There are stain variations on each piece and the wire brush texture is amazing. Even the installer was impressed. The floor has a darker stain so be prepared to leave you shoes off or be willing to dust mop frequently. I highly recommend this flooring!

Had this engineered hardwood floor installed in my master bedroom in May 2017. I am very please with it visually. It’s beautiful to look at. Love the width of the planks and the dark color: Oak Coffee. The planks varies in pattern. The price is reasonable per box. So far, no scratches or dent after accidentally dropping stuff on it. My bedroom does not get too dirty so I’ve only swept dirt off it and a little dusting. It’s floating over a concrete subfloor with an underlayment. The click and lock mechanism was very easy during installation. But, I did wasted a whole box because part of the locking mechanism broke off and could not lock it in or it was moldy looking underneath the boards (did not want to risk using it). The planks are thin compared to other brands. I had to take my base boards out and when I re-installed it I did have to do some extra painting on the wall because the planks were thinner than my previous carpet. It is a little noisy to walk over it (compared to other homes with hardwood flooring) but it’s not entirely annoying, not sure if this is due to it just floating over an underlayment or the type of underlayment used. During installation, the colors on the edges chipped of very easily if you’re too rough. Overall, I am happy with this product. For future projects like my living room and the kid’s room, I would go with a different/product brand (thicker planks) or different installation method.

My wife wanted to replace the carpeting in our living room with a wood floor. So, for her Christmas present, I picked up a bunch of samples, placed them in a shoe box and gift wrapped it. Of all the samples, she picked the wire brushed Oak Havana due to the texture as well as appearance. It was the first time I installed a wood floor, and overall it went surprisingly well and quick. Pieces simply snap together. No need for nails. Already owned a table saw, but wanted a miter saw as well. Total costs of new saw and materials was less than a quarter of what I had been quoted by installer. After pulling up old carpeting and pad, used hammer and pliers to removed tack boards, staples and small nails. Nailed down flush a few nail heads that were sticking up, and then vacuumed to ensure surface was clean. Floor was already level, but used foam underlayment to be sure and for extra noise control. Ran out of the regular underlayment toward end of project, but found that doubling up the foam wrapping that comes in the box. worked just as well for the few extra square feet. Removed existing molding using large flat head screw driver as a wedge. Was able to easily cut flooring material to about 3/8 inch of walls. Tapped the existing staple nails in the molding, and was then able to simply put molding back from where it came from and nail in. This floor abuts existing oak floor in our foyer. Thought about covering transition with molding. Opted to instead cut material flush with new floor, but then noticed it lifting slightly. So, used some wood glue to keep transition area flush. Floor looks wonderful and wife is very happy.

LOVE LOVE this flooring. Looks and feels like wood.
My 2 sons installed this over an underlayment. The look and feel of this flooring is phenomenal. So far it has held up quite nicely as it has now been 6 months since laid. The photo that Home dept uses is not really the color or look. The sample photo is pretty accurate. MANY compliments on this floor and I receive the shocked looks whenever I tell them it is a laminate. Just order..do not wait.

Good purchase and easy to install. Bad quality right out of the box.
We bought this product originally to do just our bedroom but ended up doing our hallway, Stairs, and office with it. I bought in total of just over 60 cases. Very easy to put in and to work with. Problem is that several, about 4 full cases, of the planks were either scratched or had some glue/finish splatter all over them which made them not usable. I did send an email to The Company, not Home Depot, but they never responded to my email. So now I will have to order more of course to finish my massive project. Very disappointed in the 4 cases that I can do nothing with. Therefore I probably would not recommend this product because of how frustrating it is to open new cases and then have so many pieces that cannot be used.

            Not engineered hardwood!
After reading all the reviews we decided to go with this flooring due to our home being on the damp side. I will say this floor should not be considered engineered hard flooring at all. I think the layer of "wood" literally is paper thin, if that. Installation was easy. I have multiple scratches already. This is a case of "you get what you pay for". I love the look of the floor, but so so very disappointed in quality and how this product is marketed.

Response from THD customer supportMar 7, 2016
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. “ Dear customer, thank you for taking the time to review our product. We understand how disappointing it can be when your expectations are not met. This product has a .6 mm veneer layer and is suitable for all common traffic, residential areas. While it is dent and scratch resistant it is not dent or scratch proof and it is recommended to follow the care and maintenance information in the installation guide that accompanied your flooring. Thank you. "

Waited a year after installation to see how it would hold up
We covered about 600 square feet after having had carpet for many years- installation was not that difficult once we got rolling- our biggest challenge was getting the cuts right around heat registers- that's where most of our cussing occurred- it has held up well after one year of use- there are a few scratches here and there and we're not sure exactly how they got there but probably it was from us not paying attention to moving furniture- we like rustic so this has worked out well for us!

Looks good but too thin layer of stain
We have so much furniture, we couldn't move them into other rooms. So, we moved them all to one side of the room then began our work, as shown on photos. I've used 3-in-1 underlayment, and began the work with 1/4" expansion gaps all around. It wasn't difficult, it just took lots of patience cutting the planks. The hardest part was moving the furniture. Once finished, moved all furniture to the finished side and continued. After finishing the 1st room, I was more confident, and began another room. Then I ran into something strange half way through the room. All the planks I've installed had very thin layer of what seems real wood, then rest was a MDF/HDF But the subsequent planks had very thin layer of real wood at top layer, MDF/HDF at middle layer, and real wood at the bottom layer. Although they all fit together, I got curious and googled. According to many sites, Engineered Wood Flooring Planks has thin top layer of real wood, MDF/HDF at the middle, and again real wood at the bottom layer. I took both samples back to HD, the staff say they both are engineered wood and must be from different batch of order. Since I've already finished one room and over half on other room with MDF/HDF bottom layer, he reordered them delaying 3 days. When new batch came in, it was again with real wood bottom layers. So he suggested uninstall and return all the planks for replacement. Though I was very disappointed, I wasn't about to go through moving the furniture again. So, I continued on using the new planks with real wood bottom layer. They do look beautiful. But I did notice that they scratch so easily, as these has extremely thin stains. I used furniture moving discs from HD, that has thick layers of soft felts, but it still scratched the floor in some areas. You might want to consider clear coating to protect the color. Luckily, these two rooms are not used often. The other things is that almost every steps I take in these two rooms makes chirping sound. Yes, the cement floor was cleaned and made sure they were level. For other rooms with more traffic, I will definitely consider higher quality planks.

            Looks Great in upstairs/bedroom
I put this in my upstairs and soon to be bedroom. It looks beautiful and the color is exactly what I wanted. Some people mention concerns of longevity, but this is not in a high traffic area for me, so it wasn't a concern for me.

              Looks Great!!!
The initial install was simple and straight forward. The appearance is nice and diverse in wood grain patterns and color. The color is consistent but the grains give each piece a nice distinction. I am curious as to durability as we have just installed. We have 4 children so durability will become apparent very soon.

              Beautiful Floors!
Beautiful floors. There may be a few pieces of wood that is a bit difficult to interlock when laying the floors down. But don't get frustrated, just try different pieces until it snaps into place. Then there are many pieces that fit perfectly and smoothly together on the first try. Seeing the room completed makes it worth all the time and effort!

Not Hardwood - Scratches Very Easily
Very disappointed in this flooring. I loved the color and texture (and price) in the store. They were out of samples when we were shopping but they had an open box and display for us to see. The floors are made with all the edges portraying engineered hardwood. When you cut into the pieces, it becomes very obvious that it is not real hardwood. It is truly made with fiber board and a wood veneer. The box advertises multiple lengths. Each box we opened (55), there were 9 pieces almost 48 inches and 6 that were about half that. This gave us a LOT of leftover starter pieces as we could not use the smaller pieces in a row next to the longer pieces without have seams match up. So, just know that when you see the multiple lengths, you are only receiving two different lengths. After the flooring was installed, we tried to clean them. Using our regular vacuum and the handheld cordless, both of them scratched the floors. I love the matte finish on the floors, but all the dust settles and does not come out of the wired brush strokes. We followed the suggestions for cleaning, and although it seems to help, the floors are never as clean as when they first arrived and almost seem to fade every time you wipe them.

                It looks beautiful, BUT......
We installed this on our 1st floor of our house which covered the dinning room, entrance, hall, and living room. Overall I am satisfied with the floor it looks NICE! the decor of my house is espresso colors, black colors and behr's southern breeze green/gray and white trim. Looks nice! BUT............. we have a dog with white fur who sheds, given the color of the floor you can see the hairs EVERYWHERE! the tinniest lint, and practically anything, so i find myself vacuuming/sweeping often. The floor does scratch very easily and chips easily, which is a disappointment given i have two boys and a husband. Given the plank texture it also collects dust easily. It's not smooth or glossy which is what i liked about it, but like I said, it collects dust easier than our laminate.. Before this floor we had cheap laminate it lasted 7 years of heavy traffic we changed it because i wanted dark and wanted to give the house a refreshed look. take our experience as a tip and cautious, overall the floor is nice. Would I buy it again, probably not. I expect this floor to last us about 7 years before it's time to replace due to chips/scratches. Also the price of the floor is worth buying, we wanted something to fit within our budget. In the future I would like to invest in bamboo or real hardwood. Installation was easy!

                  Great Product!
I thought this was going to be too dark for my small space but it all depends on the paint color on the walls, these floors look great! These floors are half the price of the floors I purchases for my first home and are more durable. They don't scratch too easily because they don't have a gloss finish- if you are looking for a glossy finish DO NOT buy these floors. They are dark- do know that means you can see A LOT of dust pet hair etc. Also, since they don't have much of a finish DO NOT use chemicals or cleaners even if they say hardwood in the floor- follow the directions listed in the packaging! Altogether I LOVE these floors for the price! You just can't beat it! I installed these myself in half a day (500 sq feet)

                  Beautiful Flooring
This flooring makes my house look totally different. We love the very dark wood and think that it is a nice upgrade. It is super easy to install and doesn't scratch super easy. A couple of the boxes were pretty beat up but that is a Delivery issue not product issue. All in all, I would definitely recommend this flooring.

                  Absolutely Awesome
I recently installed this throughout our place. It was fairly easy to do it. Out of 40 boxes or so, I only had to discard a handful or so. The top layer of wood is thin, so I don't think it can be resurfaced. However, with proper care (furniture pads, rug pad, no shoe policy), I don't see why it wouldn't last. If you polish it, the wood really pops. It seems to be holding up well. It was an excellent value. We are happy with it.
