Worked better than I knew - Buy if you have PFOS and PFOA contaminants!
I ordered this system soon after moving into my house in April 2015. I originally bought the system after getting the online water quality report from the township which uses well water to supply its residents. To say the least, the water report was not good. I researched many systems to find any that could remove the long list of contaminants. I found this one in my online research. To double check whether it would work I contacted the company, The Perfect Water. I sent the report to a representative who read the report . I believe his exact words were, "This is some pretty bad water." He said the Catalytic carbon filter will work on the contaminants listed. I was also concerned about a reduction in water pressure and how this system would work with my water softener. Again, the company went over the setup I was using and assured me it would work. In using the system, it did the job. No reduction in water pressure, which surprised me because the house is 1/4" pipe. Also no interference with the water softener which continued to work. I didn't realize how well the system worked until the township informed residents this year that PFOS and PFOA contaminants were now present in our water. These are not easy contaminant to remove, and as a result, many neighbors decided to purchase water via home delivery services. Upon learning of these contaminants, I called a local water testing company to test my water from a tap that was filtered using this Whole House system. The results came back 0.4 PFOS and 0.3 PFOA. A neighbor down the street was selected by the township for a random sampling. This neighbor does not have a whole house system. The result was 7.2 PFOS and 5.7 PFOA. I had no idea at the time of purchase this whole house system would be able to remove such a significant amount of PFOS and PFOA. Plus, the yearly filters for this system cost about $150. That's a huge savings from water delivery plus I'm getting clean water for the whole house not just from a jug in the kitchen.

      good quality easy to install
Had a cheap GE whole house filter, but it froze to the unit. Hope I don't have that problem when I go to change the filters. This one installed easy and the water quality is noticeably better.

      whole house water filter
I bought this filter to rid my water of chlorine and it is doing just that. I use my pool chemical test kit to check it and there is no chlorine in my water. It is clearer looking water than I had before and has no taste. The only problem I ran into was I had a noise when I turned on or off the water or ran it at a low volume. I checked and replaced the expansion tank on my hot water tank and only made it worse. I had piped in a bypass line so I could service the filters without shutting down the water to the house and thought maybe that was causing the problem. After a lot of thought and asking different plumbers I tried a mini noise arrestor in the top left hand corner of my piping and that solved the problem. Other than that issue the system works very well. It did drop my water pressure down about 7-8 lbs. but I raised it back to 55 lbs. through the inline regulator. I would recommend this product .

      Excellent choice a year later!
I moved last August and went from a well to public water, had an iron clot get free from the water company and turned our water a gross brown color, I panicked and bought and installed this, so easy...only I being a female non-plumber did not put in a bypass, and will be doing that, So you don't see a change really, but I just changed the filters so easy and they were BLACK!!! so it has been working!!!! So happy to see the proof and know my kids are safe!!!! Best money spent!

      Love it!
I love knowing that, at least while in our home, my family is drinking (as well as showering in) water that is free of chlorine, pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals. Zero maintenance once its installed other than the annual replacement filters. Ordering the annual replacement parts is a breeze.

      What a difference
I ordered the whole house water filtration system. The system is high quality construction and has made a huge difference in our water. I had researched a number of options and I am pleased that i found this one. There is a drastic difference now in our glasses and taste of water. You can clearly see how clear and clean our glasses are that have been washed with the new system installed compared to the glasses washed before we installed the system. I wish that i would have done this sooner. We moved into the house remodeled all of the bathrooms and kitchen. The water is so bad that we had to replace almost all of the new fixtures.

Not the best solution for my problem.
WHOLE HOUSE 2-STAGE WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM WITH MULTI GRADIENT SEDIMENT AND KDF85/CATALYTIC CARBON... Purchased because my water had white chunks of lime or whatever that accumulated in my faucet screens. My sonic humidifiers would also create this white powder all over my house that would clog my HVAC return filter. I had this filter system installed ahead of the water heater to help prevent filling that tank full of sediments as well. Build quality of this assembly is very good. Its been about three months now... 1. Success... No more chunks collecting in my faucets that use to clog water flow to the point it would blow the screen assembly out. 2. Fail... White powder all over the house in the return filter is as bad as ever. It actually seems to be worse but the filter assembly wouldn't cause it to be worse. I think my water utility is not doing something right. 3. Three months later and carbon powder is still coating my toilet and collecting in my humidifiers. It seems that the second stage (Carbon filter) is breaking down and flowing through my faucets and in my toilet. 4. expensive water filter... The filter assembly cost me over $400.00 online and plumbers fee for installation. The 1st stage filter (Micron poly sediment ) replacement cartridge costs $35.95 online. The 2nd stage filter (KDF85/Granular Cataytic Filter) cartridge costs $129.95 online. I placed a water pressure gauge between the filter assembly and water heater so i could tell when the house pressure drops due to filter clogging. Pressure is still good between 60 and 70 psi depending on what time of day. I expect to change the cartridges once a year if there is no loss of pressure. Only other options to remove this fine white powder is to purchase a reverse osmosis system or a sodium water softener system. I hope this review helps others to make a more informed purchase.

      Excellent water quality!
I have had this system for over a year now and it has exceeded my expectations. The flow rate is not restrictive and the chlorine smell from my city water is gone. In fact, it tastes like bottled water straight from the tap. Also, my plumbing fixtures, sinks, and shower glass are easier to clean because I don't get the scale build-up that I used to. I would highly recommend this system.

      Improved our water quality
The Whole House 2-Stage Water Filtration system has vastly improved the water quality in our home. We have very hard water where I live. We've seen a big difference in the taste of our drinking water. Additionally, our clothes come out of the wash cleaner and we see fewer mineral deposits / residue on wet surfaces like shower doors and sinks. I highly recommend this for anyone that wants to improve the quality of the water in their home.

Cleaner water at a reasonable price!
We were in the market for a whole house water filter once I decided I was fed up with my hair feeling so heavy and flat, and my skin feeling so dry after showering. I also noticed a lot of build up in the shower heads and faucet and needed to do something about it. We hired a plumber to install this whole house filtration system ($150 for a little over an hour of work) and we noticed a difference in our skin and hair immediately. The water tasted different too! We now feel comfortable drinking from the tap whenever we need to, and as a mom of two kids, i feel better about the water my kids are coming in contact with or ingesting on a daily basis. Great buy!

          Great system!
It has been so nice to drink filtered water from every faucet in our home! I especially like that this system filters out the chloramines used in our water district. The water tastes great and my bath water is so much clearer now. No more strong chlorine smells!

            Good City water FINALLY!!!
I have had this water system for about a year now and it works great! I live in the city my neighbors have water you can smell the chlorine in. Ours is tasteless and odorless! The first carbon filter I was sent was damaged and they replaced it no cost to me. I love this system and will either take it with me or get another one when I move!!

            great product
I've only had this product installed in my home for three month. Within the first two hours of installing the filter, I notice there wasn't any chlorine smell, and the water had better taste than the filter you attach to your faucet. Installation was easy, took about two hours to install. I would highly recommend this product to those of you who want to get rid of the smell of chlorine and like the taste of good water.

I did a lot of research and shopping around and ended up finding that this was the best deal overall and had the best ratings. I installed this unit and have had great results. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

              Absolutely great filtration system
Our plumber installed it quickly and easily, he asked us where we got it because he would like to recommend it to his customers. We have been using it for about 4 months and our water is now completely clear, smell is gone, ice maker now makes clear and clean ice, and sediment in our toilettes has disappeared. Love that filters only need to be replaced about once a year. We have told many of our friends and neighbors about it.

                Great water!
I bought the Whole House 2-Stage water filter because although I have town water, there were times when it would look brownish. Running the tap only made it worse. I have had these filters in for five months and the water is crystal clear and tastes great! Never any brown. The water pressure in the pipes is as strong as ever. I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

                So far it's great!
Our water filtration system is working well! I cannot comment on the installation process because we had our home builders install it. However they did not leave us with information on when and how to change the filter so when a representative from the company called to ask how our filtration system is working I was pleased and asked her to send me a pdf of the instruction manual and she sent it while we were on the phone! Excellent customer service and great product!

                  Clean Water, No Issues
We wanted to reduce sediment to extend the life of our plumbing system (water heater, supply lines, fixtures were having issues) and remove chlorine from municipal water supply. We found this system at Home Depot and solved both problems. I have a fair amount of plumbing experience and was easily able to install myself, but you should get outside help as instructed if you're not comfortable with sweating pipes and making watertight connections. This thing is solid and the filters are bigger than I expected. The water pressure throughout the house decreased slightly after installation, but a few adjustments to the existing main supply pressure regulator and everything is back to normal. Water is crystal clear at every tap!

                  Great product
I would like to state that this Perfect Water Company KDF85 water filtration unit were one of the best home improvement purchase I've made in a long time. My local municipal water supply contains high amounts of chlorine and other chemicals which really shows just in the smell of the water. I have a dedicated 6 stage water filtration unit that supplies drinking water to not only my sink but also my ice maker. I never really considered a whole home water filtration unit because I have a whole home water softening system to remove heavy minerals but does nothing in removing chemicals. I finally decided to browse online for a home water filtration system and found this one online at the Home Depot. The purchase was simple and it took little time to receive this unit straight from the manufacturer. Installation was straight forward and a snap because I located the unit in line with my water main in the crawl space under the house. After having this filtration unit going on a year now, I must say I'm a firm believer in the effectiveness and quality of this unit. Not only has it kept my water from smelling like chemicals, it has not shown any degradation in my water preasure one iota. We are a family of five and run tons of water through this system. If you are in the market for a whole home water filtration unit I personally guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the performance and longevity it will provide you. Thanks Perfect Water Company I now have perfect water.

Whole House 2 stage water filtratrion system
We purchased this system 5/1/15 . We are very pleased so far, no problems with the unit. It was very easy for our plumber to install. After his installation of this unit he wanted one for his home, as well as an electrician we has doing some other work. It has taken away all chlorine smell and taste in our water, and no more dry skin after showers and my hair is now much softer. Just this month company actually called me to check on how system was working for us. Great Product...

                  Great Tasting Water
Great tasting water right off the bat. We could tell that it tasted better with the first glass after flushing out the system. We were very pleased. We could tell that our hair and skin felt better after showering too. I installed the filter in the garage and put in a valved bypass loop. Also bypassed the outside hose bibs. No need to filter the water for the yard. My plumbing configuration took a little time but the filter itself was fairly simple to install.

                  Whole house filter
We were having problems with the city water coming from Flint, MI when they started pulling water from the Flint River. All in the house were having problems from the chemicals in the water. We were having trouble with rashes caused by the water. I chose the catalyst filter set because of the filtering stats and have seen great improvement, when the city water conditions just kept getting worse.

                  My water finally tastes good!
I installed the Home Master Whole House 2-Stage Water Filtration System with Multi Gradient Sediment and KDF85/Catalytic Carbon (HMH2SmgCC) in July. I have county water which comes from wells. It is relatively low in iron, with some sediment. I purchased the system and hired a plumber to modify my piping and install it, and install a bypass line for maintenance. At first he didn’t want the job, but reneged after I showed him how little was involved. Installing the filter system was a snap, but the plumber had to put a ½” wood plank behind the bracket as, apparently, my studs were not 16” on center at the install location. Prior, to installing the system, my water had a funny taste which varied in flavor continuously. Consequently, we used bottled water or filtered refrigerator water for drinking. After installing the filter system, I have found the sink water to be consistently good tasting and have made it my primary drinking water source, avoiding the overly cold water of my fridge and the cost of water bottles. Hopefully, it will continue to work well until I change the filters next summer.

                    Does not remove sulfur smell.
Removed rust from water but did nothing to remove sulfur smell. This limitation should be made clear on the specifications.

                        Poorly engineered
The filter system looks nice, but the metal bracket has only 2 bolts to hold about 80 pounds of weight. I mounted it on a piece of 3/4" plywood with metal support behind the plywood for added strength. I used 1/2" bolts. The system rocks and sways. The metal support could use a larger mounting surface. One of the two filter canisters leaked even though I lubed the O-rings and the threads. I had to purchase 2 extra silicone lubes to lube everything. The amount of lubed supplied is totally inadequate for the job. I emailed the manufacturer for support for advice on the leak. I got the advice needed, but I waited 2 weeks for the leak to heal itself. The metal bracket is under engineered and the O-rings is poorly designed. With some re-engineering this could be a great product.

                        Installation instructions Ambiguous
The install instructions said that the sediment filter has to be after the water inlet, then the carbon filter. What it didn't say was, that it is imperative that the water inlet, HAS to be on the left side. If you want it on the right side the filter manifold needs to rotated 180 degrees, on the mounting bracket. So make sure you rotate it before plumbing everything in. The mounting bracket is questionable too. That's a lot of weight for such a small bracket held on with 2 bolts. After I installed the filters I put a block of wood between them and the wall I mounted the whole fixture on. There also isn't enough silicone grease supplied, to properly install the filter housings, as required. I had to go buy some more. So, in conclusion, I had to buy 2 new filters for $170.00, which are still in transit, plus silicone grease. The reason I gave it a No Recommend, is because I having been able to fully evaluate it's stated functionally yet.
