It functions better than digital programmable controls in my opinion.
My grip is lack of Quality Control. Although the controller works satisfactory, the settings are not marked (see attached photo). Honeywell has yet to respond to my Case.
I recommend it. Just keep in mind to buy a package of peel and stick letters. You'll need them to mark what settings the controller is on.

This thermostat is perfect for installation in where common wire is lacking (no power coming from furnace). Simple design, easy to use, not too sensitive and seems to last for a long time. However, for the HVAC systems coming with common wire, I would recommend installing more advanced type like programmable/smart thermostat given the price being almost the same and rebates from utility companies.

Just what the Doctor ordered...
The unit is simple in design and function, has easy to understand instructions on setting it up, and works flawlessly with a mechanical simplicity that borders on genius. My older thermostat, a fancy computerized model that allowed for network connectivity and web-based controls, lost it's mind - literally. Suddenly my house was getting hot - fast, yet the 'stat said all was well. Go online and it said differently and it refused to let me change it. After many hours of Frankenstein's monster tormenting us, I gave in and went low-tech. My only CON on this unit is it's small size when compared to the larger more elaborate thermostats: wiring with older, thicker wiring like my house means you have to take extra care not to cross anything when installing it. Other than that, I love the simple use and ease of install. I'm never going back to the high-tech stuff like that again.

The thermostat was properly configured and installed. Two phone calls were made to customer service to verify the proper installation. Apparently the thermostat was defective from the factory. After it was installed both the gas heating forced air furnace and the central air conditioner ran simultaneously. I would not suggest buying this thermostat.
