Programming by wifi was child's play, also nice to have temperatures displayed in Celsius, and having the heat or cooling come on when people are here will hopefully keep our energy bills down too. The unit is also very neat on the wall, no regrets in buying it.

Lasted only 4 years. Poor workmanship. Inside melted. See photo. Entire AC system now down. Will not buy again. I do not reccomend. I am very disappointed in this product.

As a manual thermostat, it works well and has a lot of features. HOWEVER, as a smart home add-on the Honeywell servers are terrible. I estimate about 60-80% of the time I get the message "it looks like Honeywell Total Connect US is unavailable right now" on my Google Assistant. Therefore, 5-Stars as an "overpriced" manual thermostat and 1-Star for smart home functionality, meaning 3-Stars overall rating.

I don't understand why in God's green earth Honeywell would not give you the option just to update your router/modem password versus all of the hoops you have to jump through to reconnect the thermostat to the wireless system in your home. I have been a Honeywell fan for the past 30+ years and even had one of the first programmable thermostats Honeywell came out with ~30 years ago (the Honeywell Chronotherm III *** see the attached picture). I currently have the model number RTH8580WF1007. I first tried to just reset the wireless by entering in the 0900 0 code. That didn't work. Then I did a factory reset using the 0710 1 code. That didn't work. I then tried a factory reset after removing the battery backup. Strike three. The previous wireless info is still in the thermostat and stuck in the "Wi-Fi Setup" mode. Even though it never stated in any of the research that I looked up, I disconnected my phone from 5G and joined my 2.4 frequency just in case Honeywell didn't have the 5G technology added to the thermostat. Nope. That didn't work either. I honestly cannot think of one additional thing that I can do to get this reconnected to my new wireless modem. Two+ hours of my time shot messing around with this unit. I am now getting an email every hour from my thermostat letting me know that I have a "COMMUNICATION ALERT *** Alert: The thermostat FAMILY ROOM not communicating with My Total Connect Comfort." To add insult to injury, I click on the hyperlink in the body of that email "Please use FAQ for instructions to reconnect to the internet" and it takes me to a "404 - page not found" webpage. So now the thermostat is now disconnected and I'll give it a try again in a week. Hopefully having it sit for a week will make it think that it was sitting on a shelf prior to being purchased. This is a great little unit overall. You set up the programming once and it is basically set it and forget it. The thermostat does everything for you. I could even use the app returning from a trip an hour away and release the hold so the house would be warmer when I returned from a trip. Fantastic! When I originally bought this thermostat, I had no issues getting it hooked up to the wireless in my home, but when you change your Wi-Fi router or modem, buyer beware. You better have an IT master’s degree, and even then, I don't know if you will be able to get it to reconnect.

I will say that I really like the Honeywell thermostat !!! Easy installation and setup!! The only thing that i would like to see added , is an indicator showing when the Air or heat is running !!! Unless I can hear it or get close to an outlet I can't just look at it and tell if it's running ?? But, anyone looking for a nice looking, easy to install wifi thermostat, can't go wrong with this one !!

Good unit - if you need to add it to Wink - Select the WIFI thermostat in the Wink App even though it doesn't look the same as this model.

Installed in our second home in another state and this thermostat is awesome. I can monitor the temperature remotely and even change from heat to air. Had a little trouble installing (I am a 58 year old woman). Called the support number and was walked thru the installation with no problem! Awesome customer support! I highly recommend this thermostat.

I purchased this thermostat to replace an aging analog device and have been very impressed with it. Installation was a breeze as was setting it up on my home network. The touchscreen is very intuitive and easy to use. I love the Wi-Fi capabilities which allows me to monitor my house temperature and change the thermostat from my IPhone from anywhere in the world.

Easy to install, a little slow on hookup to wifi ( more a phone issue though) but works great.

This is a good product for a reasonable, even low, price. App has worked perfect so far

Had to call out an AC tech for the some additional wiring after I connected the c wire. Works great though.

Thermostat works great, scheduler heats up to be ready at specified times.(Haven’t used with A/C yet.) I love the flexibility to adjust from iPhone. (Works on iPhone 6 & 8 seemlessly). Integrated easily with google home, making voice adjustments very easy as well.

Great product, easy install, works as it should. I'm no computer whiz but figured out WI FI install and App. Make sure you know your router password and info. I had no C wire but installed new. It was easy, clearly marked what wires go where. If you are handy at all you can do it too. My furnace is from 1990s and it works. Its worth the price just for the peace of mind, I travel and worry about my furnace working, it tells you all you need to know, even if fan is on. I've only had it a few days but have tried quite a few times far and near and it worked flawlessly. Be he master of your furnace and get one too.

It works perfect; the wifi features make it easy to change temperature settings any time and anywhere and it is really cool to have that kind of control over your thermostat. The settings are also not complicated; I like the features that make it possible to group the days with similar settings such as Monday to Friday and Sat/Sun, and it combines with AC too. I have owned it for about a month now so I will wait until summer to see how it works my AC. The only parts that I wish were different are the wiring and temperature start/end times. I use heating oil and furnace and the wiring as described in the manual was not that easy. I had to call in two separate professionals to figure out the wiring in my furnace although I already had C wire in the existing system. Also, start times usually begin 15-20 minutes early for morning settings but not for afternoon and I'm not sure if that's how it was designed to work.

Works great and easy to install

Buyer Beware. Bought two of these 2 years ago, both have failed, (out of warranty of course). First keeps losing wifi connection sitting 10 feet from router while security cameras never lose it. Today second one kept dialing itself down from 71 program point to 40F before it became nonresponsive. Maybe that’s why they are now discounted $20?

It's easy to operate because the user guide could easily be understood.. The mobile application for remote/wifi thermostat control is a clever feature. It works flawlessly. I highly recommend to upgrade those manual thermostat to this digital. touchscreen Honeywell product. It 's worth your money for a low-priced investment. When I first installed it, I learned that this note is easy to miss thinking the thermostat was defective . "This thermostat requires a C or common wire (blue/black wire) to power."

Easy install, the ability to control away from home is beyond convenient, easy to connect with Alexa for voice control of the thermostat while at home. Very pleased

This Wi-Fi thermostat was not that difficult to install or program and it is working great. I installed two in my house and it is easy to check the temperatures from my laptop or cell phone. The screen also gives you the outside temperature and the 5 day forecast with a simple click of the button.

Great Wireless Thermostat! Easy to install. Just make sure you know what type of HVAC system you have (i.e. Heat Pump/AC, or Conventional Heat/AC). Very simple phone or pad apps that are easy to navigate so you can program your system for different days of the week. The apps also give you outdoor weather and current humidity. It's so nice to be able to adjust these with a simple phone/pad app. No monthly fees like with some other wifi thermostats. I have 2 and I love them!

Easy installation made easier since my existing wiring already have the C wire. This is my second set of Honeywell wireless programmable thermostats (I installed a pair in my previous house) so programming was very easy. Being able to better control the on/off time for a/c and heat saves me a lot on electric and gas bill.

The thermostat is excellent. It is a model I am very familiar with as I had one in my previous house minus the WiFi capability. Installing this in a 1950 house was not that difficult. It had a "C" wire. I had to call Honeywell to have the final programming done, you can't do it yourself.
