Customer Reviews for Howard 12 oz. Clear Hardwax Mineral Butcher Block Oil Conditioner

We used this stuff on our island's butcher block counter when I redid our kitchen. The finish was nice, and didn't change the color of the wood much, if at all. However, over the next year it remained oily, and didn't protect from staining. I bit the bullet sanded it down, and applied several coats of 100% tung oil. The tung oil DID cure over a couple of weeks—no more oily residue, unlike this Howard stuff, and it actually protects from stains—although the wood did darken a bit.
