The Hunter. Pro Spray PRS30 is a great alternative to unregulated spray heads I have previously used. This feature is very desirable for the area I live in where our house pressure is very high (100 psi+).
The 4” rise height spray head comes in a base which measures 6” overall height with spray nozzle installed.
The PRS30 does not come with nozzles and these must be purchased separately. This is reasonable since they are available in different features from Home Depot. The ones I chose were in stock at the local store.
The pressure reducing function works exceptionally well and reduces atomization of the spray which should be more conservative in watering efficiency.
This essentially becomes a direct replacement for other spray heads commonly used for residential sprinkler systems.
The only thing to keep in mind when using these heads is to have you spray nozzle ready to install immediately when removing the keeper from the nozzle base. Otherwise the strong retraction spring in the base will suck in the riser and make difficult attaching the nozzle
I got these pop ups specifically to cover a flower bed along side our swimming pool. Right at the start I didn't understand why these came without nozzles. You can't use these on their own, you have to buy specific nozzles that screw onto the top of the sprinkler pop-up. Maybe it saves shelf space as to why they don't sell 3 varieties of completed units? IDK. These work well like any other pop-up sprinkler I've every had. Seems like good quality, easy to install but nothing special.
The sprinkler bodies are made well. They are heavy and the tops are solid. Not worried about them breaking at all. It is nice that you can put different sprayers in them but would be nice if they came as one sprikler fully assembled instead of buying separate pieces for the complete assembly. Most sprinklers if you need to repair them can take the tops off and you can replace the guts. Overall a quality product that should last a ling time. The tips will glog from secondary water before the wearing out.
This appears to be a quality sprinkler. It appears to be well built, sturdy construction. It did not come with tips/nozzles, but after purchasing those separately, I was able to install these sprinklers where I needed. I already have a system set up but needed to replace a few sprinklers that were destroyed by my lawn care. The brown color isn't necessary but is a nice touch that blends with the lawn well. The flow is nice and steady.
We have super high water pressure in our area, so I was exited to try these built in pressure regulator sprinkler bodies. I also had several sprinklers that were too short and/or not retracting. These 4 in. popup sprinklers were just what I needed to replace the old ones and even out my water coverage.
The head replacement was super easy. I don't have to worry about the heads being blown off (yes, I have had that happen.) The 4 in. height keeps the flow above the grass, even when it has been more than a week since the last cut.
While the description is accurate, with the photos used in the item listing I can understand this being misleading to people as these do NOT include the nozzles, though the pictures all show with a nozzle in use. The Floguard feature is nice as unless wasting large amounts of water is what you're after, if a nozzle is removed and system turned on the bodies are designed to limit the flow to .5gpm. From Hunter's materials, without a device to slow the flow, you'd be sending 5-30gpm of water.
As other reviewer's have stated, these are the pop-up bodies only and nozzles can either be reused from units being replaced, or purchased separately and easily installed by twisting on.
They seem very well made and appreciate the built in 30psi pressure regulator to help save water if your system isn't properly regulating at the pump.
The brown cap indicates the type of body and blends nicely with the yard. The threaded pull caps are great for installing nozzles, I replaced an old damaged pop-up unit with no flow regulation and did not need any special tools to do so as used the pull cap to lift the body, then hold that with one hand and remove cap and install nozzle with the other and before releasing, twist the pop-up body to make sure it's aimed properly. For the old one I used a small flathead screwdriver to lift it enough to grab which if not careful, can damage the unit.
These sprinkler bodies work great. Durable construction and easy installation. The pop-up stem has nice strong spring to it so you won't have to deal with heads that won't retract. The inlet is standard 1/2" which is prefect for residential systems. Note this is the sprinkler body only and you would purchase various sprinkler heads that then thread onto the stem depending on what you need for the specific installation. There are lots of patterns and such available.
The 4-inch Pro Spray sprinkler by hunter with a half-inch inlet, regulated riser, and durable body cap is designed for efficient irrigation. Its strong spring ensures reliable performance while lacking spray nozzles allows customization based on specific needs. The sturdy construction guarantees durability even in harsh conditions. However, users should note the absence of included nozzles which may require additional purchase to complete the setup effectively. Overall, this sprinkler offers quality engineering and flexibility but requires extra accessories for full functionality.
Decent quality. Rises 2" higher than the old head in order to clear the extra high summertime glass growth. The taller head helped to remedy dry spots I was getting in the lawn.

Works but the no nozzle was frustrating
Didn't realize it didn't come with a nozzle and had to make an additional trip to Home Depot. For the price it should come with a nozzle. I think the idea is everyone will have a different need but $15 for the body + another $2.50 for a nozzle is a bit ridiculous when I can clearly buy nozzles for $1 online at other websites.
