I’ve only had the fan installed for about a week now. It looks really nice and works well and quietly. Seems very sturdy. I had it installed without the light kit.

I have never had so much trouble installing a light kit on a fan.
This is for the model 59268 Anslee bronze fan. Installing the fan body was a piece of cake. Installing the light kit was a pain. You have to thread the screws thru a jungle of wires a seen in the photos. If you install this yourself just beware.

Installation was easy, it runs great, looks great and is very quiet, I am replacing the ceiling fans as I renovate the rooms throughout the house. This is the fifth Hunter fan I have installed in the last couple of years. Never had a problem with any of them. Very pleased with the products.

This is a replacement for the Hunter fan we had from two years ago that for some reason stopped working / motor burned out. Since this was similiar to what we had installation was easy.

Attractive Ceiling fan. Light, not so great
This Hunter ceiling fan is nice. It’s exactly what we were looking for as far as the style and color. Installation was easy. I didn’t find the base to be too heavy when I was installing it. Some bases are a bit heavy it a little difficult to work with when trying to do it with one hand. I did not get the remote model so I can’t say whether or not that’s good. What I don’t like about this unit is the LED light. After shutting off the light and being in a dark room, the LED remains on but is very dim. It’s not bright to the point where it will bother you or keep you up. It’s kind of weird. It’s very dim but noticeable. That’s my main issue with the ceiling fan. It eventually shuts off but it takes a bit.

Spent hours trying to install the remote
I love the fan but the remote is a nightmare. Save yourself the hassle and just get the fan. If you install the remote, you can only use the remote and the light switch is then useless.

This remote came in a bundle. It is a universal remote, very easy to install just above the motor. No need to run any extra wires. Perfect for my lanai because I was able to wire my new fan to an outdoor outlet and just use this remote to turn on the fan, adjust the fan speeds. My fan does not have a light attached so I cannot comment on the light function on the remote.

This remote was already paired with it's receiver. That is so helpful. The little LED lights let you know the batteries work which was super helpful during installation (is the problem with the remote, the switch being turned off, the wiring, etc.?). It doesn't feel super lightweight compared to the other one I have. If you're adding to the wall, make sure it's level to the other switches.

This fan is absolutely beautiful. It replaced a 25-year-old brass and dark wood fan when we updated the family room. The room is a converted one car garage with a low ceiling, and I was able to install this easily without the light kit. It works well, and I would buy it again, and recommend it to family and friends.

Great fan. Only complaint is the directions. This is a much more involved fan installation than previous fans I have installed. And I wish it would have had the remote pieces included with it. Noticed that you could have one, but after the installation was complete, I really don't feel like messing with it.

Absolutely love this beautiful and quiet Hunter fan. We installed the fan with the Pretty driftwood grey side of the fan blades showing. We also did not use the light kit that came with this fan. We added a drum shade fan light kit that looks very elegant and gorgeous!! Adding a photo so you can see it installed in our room.

I was in search of a fan that was sturdy, quiet and priced right. This is it. It is in our bedroom and it runs all night and we don't hear it. It includes the light and bulbs. It was fairly easy to put in. I'm sure if we were in a newer house, it would have been a breeze, but since we're in an older house, everything is a bit of a challenge. It replaced a very old fan that was a bit out of balance that finally quit! Good for me!

I love this fan! It is such a beautiful fan and really goes with the decor of our room. I love the quietness. Since it is in our master bedroom that was important. We have a new home and need to buy seven more fans. I would not mind getting seven more just like this one!

We recently installed the Oberlin 52” LED Indoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan in a 12’ x 12’ bedroom. At first we thought 52” might be too big for the room, but it worked out fine. The fan’s lowest speed moves the right amount of air and the low profile design keeps the blades high enough to provide sufficient clearance. The instructions were straightforward, thorough, and easy to follow. One nice installation feature that saved time is that the motor connects to the light housing via a plug instead of requiring wire nuts. Once we completed the installation and flipped the switch, it started as expected and the blades were balanced without any adjustments (though it does include a balancing kit if required). We did notice a slight mechanical/lubricant odor at first, but it dissipated after a couple days. The fan comes with two LED bulbs and the blades are reversible so you can choose between a lighter or darker color.

Gonna be a while before I install & give an informed review on this, cabin is closed for the winter. Got this particular model for my living area 'cause it'll tie in with some colors in other areas of my cabin...brushed nickel in my bath fixtures, grey oak in my kitchen laminate flooring. Kind of enthused about it. Have a real low ceiling in the mounting area, so I needed a flush-mount...may need to leave the light fixture off. Replacing an old fan installed in the '70's. Might have to re-brace it. Fan was delivered in just it's store boxing, nothing extra, worried about glass, but it was fine. Everything looks fine, just what I expected. More later when I install it...

The Hunter Oberlin is a great looking fan. Installation is typical for a ceiling fan, you will need a solid mounting point (usually not an issue if you are replacing another fan or ceiling fixture). The 9 watt LED bulbs (two of them) are equivalent to about 100 - 120 watts of incandescent bulbs. That's enough for most bedrooms but you can always buy higher lumen bulbs if you like it a little brighter. There are lots of little parts bags included, make sure you don't open any of them before they are needed so you don't lose anything. The bags are marked with symbols (star, circle, square, etc) and the instructions refer to them by those symbols. The most time consuming part of the installation was putting the little rubber grommets in the fan blades. The Oberlin is a great replacement for an old ceiling fan or to add a nice breeze to a room that previously just had a light fixture. Operation is very quite, no noise from the motor, no vibration; we did not have to balance the blades, although materials were included to do that if needed. A remote control is available separately, but we were perfectly happy using existing switches on the wall.

Great alternative to running new wiring
I usually prefer to have a fan and light switch on the wall wired with the appropriate romex for the extra wire for the fan, however in our master bedroom it wasn’t possible to fish new wire to the ceiling fan due to attic access issues. This switch will give you the ability to control your fan and lights separately without the use of the pull chains, and since it uses a wireless remote you can place the remote cradle wherever you wish or move the remote around the room with you if desired. Install – Install was very easy. After turning off the breaker, simply remove the ceiling box cover and wire the controller in following the wiring chart included. Our Hunter fan had a black wire with a white stripe instead of a blue wire for the fan, but other than that it was very straight forward. I also have to commend Hunter for including wire nuts in the packaging as I always find it annoying when they are not included. The controller is small enough to fit under the dome or even in the ceiling box if it’s standard size. You will also need a small Phillips screwdriver to install the button battery in the remote and then decide where to mount the remote cradle. You can either install it with screws or command release (included). We installed ours on the switch cover right next to the switch as we prefer to leave it in the cradle as to not lose it. Setup - There isn’t much to setup as the remote will most likely work right out of the box. Just be sure your switch and pull chains are on before starting, being sure the fan is set to high. Dimming did not work right away and the reference card for the remote had to be referenced to enable dimming. Being able to disable dimming can be very helpful when you are using LED or CFL bulbs without dimming capability, especially somewhat expensive LED candelabra bulbs. Impressions – I was very happy with the easy install and the small size of the remote. My only complaint with this unit is the somewhat lacking instruction card for the use of the remote. Setting the dimming mode and some of the other operations aren’t exactly clear, and better instructions would have been very helpful, and should have also been included on the main instruction sheet as there were absolutely no remote instruction on the main instructions. Overall I am very happy with this remote and would gladly buy a second when the need arises.

No more messing with chains to control the fan or light!
I have 4 ceiling fans, three indoors and one outside under a canopy. All the inside ceiling fans are controlled by switches that let me control the fan speed and lights (dimmer), but the outside could only be controlled by the pull chains since there is no good place to install switches and it would be a wiring mess. Low and behold I see this, it answers all my ceiling fan and light prayers (well almost). This installs like most other fan/light controls (the ceiling module looks like the ceiling module from a name brand switch manufacturer). Turn off the power to the circuit that your fan is on (unless you like getting zapped or like to temp fate). Remove the trim ring from the fan and make 4 wire nut connection (light, fan, power and neutral). Install the trim ring and turn on the power if you turned it off. Install the battery in the remote and you are done, unless you want to read the manual. Now I don't need to stand up and reach over the patio table and yank on chains to control the fan speed or the light brightness. Also as a bonus with none of the my other fan/light control can do it now I can dim LED and CFL bulbs in the ceiling fan if they are dimmable. It's nice on the outside so you can create some ambiance. All you need to remember is to keep the remote handy and not loose it. I don't think it is weather proof. As for answering all my ceiling fan/light prayers, if it were able to be connected to or controlled by a smart home product that would have been the cou degra. Then all I would need is a smartphone. Still I am very happy with it. Now I just need to wait till it warms up so be able to use it.

Very easy to install on our fan and has lots of useful features
I recently installed a fan/light over the workbench in our outdoor workshop and was getting fed up with hitting my head on the on/off chain so I was very happy to discover this fan remote control. It was very easy to install with my existing fan and the remote provides a good range of fan control features including fan/light on/off, fan speed and even dims the lights if your fan has dimmable bulbs. The remote comes with a specially designed bracket which can be attached to the wall so you never lose the remote. Installing the receiver/controller box in the fan was very straightforward using the included instructions. The design allows the control box to be hidden inside the top canopy cover that normally covers the fan mounting bracket and wires. It is very easy to wire up and the kit even includes new wire nuts. Once installed it is completely hidden from view which makes for a very tidy installation. The remote control has a specially designed bracket that can be used to store the remote when not in use. The kit comes with a couple of screws or a double sided sticky pad to attach it to the wall. The remote has a range of up to 75' and the included battery will last up to 5 years according to the info on the packaging. Installing the battery in the remote will require a smaller Phillips screwdriver and even with the screw removed, the cover takes a bit of force to pry it off to fit the battery. The remote provides a good range of control over the fan/light including: Fan on/off Light on/off Fan speed Light dimming (if dimmable bulbs are fitted to the fan light) It comes with a 12 month warranty and can be used indoors our outside since the remote control is rated for use in damp environments.
