Our least favorite fan
We had three fans professionally installed, and this one, unfortunately, is our least favorite. As others stated, the remote is embarrassingly cheap. The light doesn’t dim very easily and it looks pretty cheap. The blades are pretty and it moves air around fine. NOTE- per the instructions, you have to remove the glass housing in order to change the direction of the fan (winter/summer). I don’t mind having a switch on the actual fan, but this is just poor design. Why in the world did this design get past QC??? For the cost of this fan, I am very disappointed.

I wouldn’t buy it again but it works
Overall the fan works and keeps the room cool, but I wasn’t impressed with the installation and the light is pretty much useless. It was nearly impossible to install the fan evenly and it’s uneven on one side. We did everything we could to correct it and it still looks a little lopsided. The other reviews are right. The light doesn’t light up a room. It’s a night light at next. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.

Sleek Look and Great Lighting!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with the Hunter Wingate Fan! It was a breeze to install and really transformed my room. I installed in my craft room and the look could be industrial or farmhouse. I love that I can be crafting and just the click of the remote I can change speeds on the fan. It's perfect lighting with the LED light and makes my room so much brighter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What was supposed to be a simple switch of our old ceiling fan for a new one ended up taking longer than expected, the piece closest to the ceiling was much smaller than what we had previously so we had to do some spackling to make it match. Once that was completed it was a relatively simple process, the directions to assemble the fan were pretty straightforward. My husband did the electrical part of it, attaching all the wires and I attached the blades. I love that the blades have 2 options for wood finishes, this was a nice feature I wasn’t expecting. We ended up choosing the darker one since it matched our hardwood floors almost exactly. The lightbulbs included are sort of dim, we may switch them out for something brighter but I’ve also never bought a ceiling fan that included them. They also don’t dim using the remote like the directions say they should. The fan itself works great. It is very quiet.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time installing a fan and thankfully I had my brother there to help out. The process took about 40 minutes and it was with patience. This fan is absolutely beautiful! It complements the interior of the upstairs master bedroom beautifully. The blades are reversible and it has 3 speeds that are controlled by a remote. The light fixture is beautiful and a brushed metal. The fan does a fabulous job with circulating the air and it is very quiet for the size. The remote is on the smaller side and has buttons for your fan speed, and light settings. After using regular fans in this room, the ceiling fan proves it is superior in getting a comfortable air flow. I love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hunter Wingate ceiling fan ended up giving us a trendy, modern look, which I love!! Of course this took awhile for hubby to put up, but the instructions were easy to follow, minus the remote. It took awhile to figure out how to get the remote to work. The instructions for it are not in the booklet. The instructions are on the back of the remote. The remote has to be paired to the fan for it to work. We installed it in the living room. Our ceiling is slanted so we did need to buy a 12" extension bar. It does include two light bulbs for the light fixture. The lighting isn't super bright, but bright even. Tit does give off a nice ambiance. From the remote you can control the light and also the speed of the fan. Overall it's a really nice fan, and having a remote is a nice bonus.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ceiling fan looks very nice in my bedroom. It goes well with my decor and works as it should. I had an electrician install and he had no problems with installation. One thing that I don't like though is to change the direction of the blades for air flow I have to remove the glass. Remote works well.

Okay so let's start with the bad. There isn't much. My first issue was with the the wood screws that attached the ceiling bracket to the support beam. I felt like they were incredibly cheap. They stripped with little to no torque. Need better wood screws. I cannot stress this enough. My next issue was with the downrod. It got stuck while I was screwing it in to the fan unit. I tried unscrewing it but that was a no go (screwing in a downrod to a fan unit is a great idea). I really really hope it's secure. My last issue which isn't really an issue at all is the remote control. Please read the directions folks! Other that those issues/non-issues the fan is great. It works great. The lights aren't that bright. You want to hang the fan as high as possible so the light is able to reach the entire room. It looks really nice. Truly aesthetically pleasing. And this thing really blows! It creates it's own air currents. I would also like to add that the first set of bulbs are provided.

This was my first experience installing a fan, so I was a bit concerned about the ease of installation. It comes with a manual which has detailed instructions towards assembly of the product. While it gets tedious in between with the odd light fixture assembly, the overall install was not that bad for a noob like me. It took me around 90 minutes for the setup as I was going though everything very patiently.
Now coming to the fan part. The blades are reversible and you can pick either side depending your preference (I have used the darker side). It has 3 speeds and does a good job of circulating the air. I initially heard a vibrating sound when I operated it for the first time, but soon figured it was coming from the glass of light enclosure. The glass was touching the screws a bit and I moved its position a bit. I did not observe any noise later after the fix. The motor noise is like any other ceiling fan.
Now coming to the part I did not like about this fan. The fan reversing switch is analog and it can only be accessed after opening the glass cover. As you can see from the picture its not even labelled for the direction. The remote leaves a lot to be desired. Its tiny and has 3 buttons for fan power, bulb power and fan speed. There are no instructions provided in the manual about its functions. My biggest gripe was that the bulbs are set to one brightness and only thing you can do is turn them on or off. No individual brightness levels or a dimmer feature for the bulbs.
Overall, if these drawbacks do not bother you, its a very decent looking ceiling fan with good airflow.

This is your average ceiling fan. It has 4 blades, not 5. I do like how they have the 2 different wood grains / stains to match the interior or ceiling of installation. The remote control is simple and easy to use - a must in my family. One thing I have an issue with, I do not like is that the reverse switch for the fan requires removal of the light cover to accomplish - why not put a control on the remote? The remote controls fan speed and light switch. No more chains hanging down. This is your average installation project.
