Mostly plastic feels cheap

It separates from the rachet assembly. I had to squeeze it to complete the job. Returning the product.

Very difficult to tighten to cut pipe. Small knob to tighten poor design.

The Husky 1-1/8 in. Ratcheting Tube Cutter was easy to use and cut my copper pipe quickly and cleanly.

I tried to cut a 1" copper pipe, but the ratchet action doesn't grab. It keeps slipping no matter how much or little I turn the knob. I had to keep grabbing the cutting wheel by hand to turn it.

Not the best. The ratcheting part is not good after a couple cuts.

Had to cut copper pipe behind my kitchen sink. No way my traditional cutter was going to work. This tool was perfect. Besides being somewhat compact, the ratchet feature was great. I could not make a complete revolution no matter how small the tool.

I was able to cut closet rods with no problems.

I purchased this to cut the Rain Bird sprinkler tube but no matter what I do it did not cut the tube other than kinking the tube. I then used the garden scissor to cut the tube. It will go back to home depot in my next trip and now I don't even feeling getting out of the house because God know how many people are carrying the virus!

The ratcheting function has started to slip on the pipe after about 10 cuts...need to return.....the ratcheting function is a nice feature when it works.

Due to tight space, I wasn’t able to use this tool to cut the 1 inch copper pipe. I will return it.

Got the job done. However, it was tricky to use and the ratchet action on the tool isn’t the best. If I had to cut much pipe I would invest in a better cutter. Good tool for tight space and the occasional user.

Oh, I should have bought this years ago. Major time saver over the rotating type. Works well in close quarters also. Clean fast cuts.

The plastic tightening screw isn't that sturdy and breaks off easy. You have to be careful when using it

this item will work but poorly. made by design, if I could get my money back I would after the first use it broke I could still use it if I cut the handle off.

This is a great tool. My first time doing homeowner plumbing work and makes cutting in tight quarters so much easier. Cuts metal and plastic. Only nits would be the tightening mechanism is hard on the fingers and, being plastic, I wonder how long it will last. Second, the ratcheting seems like it slips occasionally, but re-ratcheting fixes it. Still made cutting new and old pipes of various materials a breeze and ratcheting function is awesome!

Broke in 5 minutes of using it just like the socket set

I bought this as a replacement for a lost one-handed of a different brand. I have made 8 cuts, 2 which were on dry land as testing. In dry conditions I have electric cutters so this was for in the field carry what you can for repairs/changes in dusty wet conditions because that's where we work. This is simply a horrible tool. The ratcheting is not a force multiplier or tightened...it simply helps swing the wheel around. The ratcheting mechanism slips and there's no simple way to detach this if you've cut mid-run without two hands and water is draining everywhere I've tried cutting wet pipes twice and the tightened doesn't work with gloves and it's a small thing to grab and turn. It also wobbles and leaves indents on the pipe. Even tweaking to use it like their manual version was horrible. It took longer than using a handsaw and is just a frustrating device. A simple manual cutter will do the work in half the time and you can spend the savings on extra cutting wheels. It looks old after slight usage and because of two handing it the water draining went around the bucket and took two more minutes to cleanly finish the cut. It also creates a outside flare that has to be filed or sanded down before pressfit or solder can be done. Never had to do so much work cutting copper in the past twenty years.

First time in use it walked the pipe will re turn soon, Home depot had a HDX Ratchet cutter that worked perfect but was discontinued I was trying to replace the blade and wasn't able to because of discontinuation

Cuts aluminum fine. You need to make a starting groove to prevent spiraling. Ratcheting feature is great, you don't have to turn the handle all around the pipe. But, the ratchet handle doesn't always engage unless you return it fully to the starting point. Thumb screw can be a little difficult to tighten.Has a nice solid feel.
