Bought this air compressor to replace a 15 gallon oil less unit that had recently died on me. Overall the compressor deserves a solid 4.5 out of 5. I did the oil change on the unit after doing the break in as recommended by other reviews. I didn’t see anything in the oil but it was cheap insurance. There are a few things that keep this unit from reaching its full 5 star rating. 1.) Handles. The handles are too short making it difficult to move around. I personally made a handle extension out of EMT conduit and attached it with rivets. 2.) Moisture drain. A unit of this size and weight should already come with the drain extension that just about everyone does to a air compressor. 3.) Oil drain location. This should be located off the side of the compressor so you can easily get a jug or funnel underneath when draining the oil. I intend on modifying this in the future. 4.) The Regulator. The regulator on this is junk. I cranked the thing all the way up and when I pulled the trigger on my impact gun it would drop below 90 psi. Since my old compressor was dead I moved the regulator from my old unit to the new one. Problem solved. Now on to the good stuff. The compressor is QUIET. You can stand right next to it and have a conversation. My air tools are louder than the compressor is. Runs everything I need it to very well. I used the cutoff wheel and it made it through the cuts without lacking any power. My old unit I would have had to wait for it to recharge at least once or twice. Another thing of note. This is rated at 5.3 SCFM at 90. Most of the air tools that I use are around 4.0. So it should keep up very well. I’m looking forward to many years of good use.

I believe that this will be a good compressor for the money. I am replacing a Campbell Hausfeld compressor that I had for close to 30 years. I doubt that I'll need a compressor for another 30 years, but I hope Husky gives me close to the service I got from my last compressor. I use this compressor in my home garage mostly for automotive work: impact wrenches, inflating tires, grinding, air hammer/chisel, blowing stuff etc. I added a Husky brand flexible hose with valve to the bottom of the compressor and cable-tied it to the wheel strut to aid in easily purging water from the tank. The stock purge screw-valve, although easy to use, is right next to the concrete making it difficult to operate unless you tilt the compressor. The stock purge valve is also slow, so spring for the upgrade - you won't regret it. This compressor is quieter than my last compressor, but not as quiet as I had hoped. Don't forget to break-in without load for 20-30 minutes, then change the oil with a non-detergent synthetic. I recommend changing the oil again after a month or so, then annually should be sufficient. I want my stuff to last forever! I had to transport the compressor on it's side from the Home Depot. I called Husky before transporting for their advice, and the customer support rep told me that this would be fine if I let the compressor sit upright overnight, and topped off the oil (replacing leakage) before running the machine. This worked out perfectly and so far no problems. This compressor is on a 20 amp circuit with a bunch of other stuff - I occasionally get a blown breaker when more than a few things are running, so if you can dedicate a circuit it would be good, but no biggie... The quick-connect air outlet is taking a little while to get used to - but it works. The gauges don't seem to be the best quality, but no real complaints. When moving the compressor, the wheels and handles are great, but be aware that it is very top-heavy.

Bought this compressor 4 years or so. When running it weeps oil from around the oil level indicator window. Don’t want to tighten it for fear of causing permanent damage. Sucks to have to keep a rag under the leak and fill oil as needed. Probably should have gone with the Dewalt at the time. Other than that it seems to be faily well put together.

After unpacking and checking all connections and making sure all bolts were tight, I ran it with no load for 30 min for break in ( seating the rings ). Before running, the oil was a little high in the sight glass. After, it was perfectly centered. I then drained the oil and measured the amount removed ( 10 fl.oz. ). The oil was cleaner then expected. I thought there were some metal shavings in the oil but they turned out to be black paint chips. Most likely from around the drain plug. Refilled oil and lit her off. Shut down right at 150 psi. Checked for air leaks, none. Regulator isn’t pricey or fancy, but unless your air brushing it’s plenty good enough for the average garage or small shop. I love this size compressor because it leaves my wall space open. This is my second compressor of this size. The last one was a oil less unit. It was unbelievably loud.

My wife purchased this as a 2017 Christmas gift for me and for various reasons I did not use it until July 2018. It broke badly when I turned it on. After carefully following the startup procedure I plugged it in and turned the switch on and wham....all kinds of pieces broke inside the plastic shroud. Some of the pieces stayed inside the shroud but some broke the shroud and came flying out. The flywheel and belt disintegrated on startup and it looks like the flywheel is made out of a very cheap pot metal (see photo of shattered flywheel). Not sure what I will do now because maybe something else is broken inside the compressor. Maybe Home Depot will take it back, but after this experience I do not trust the quality of this product.

Wanted to replace a aging 20 gal air compressor . Picked up this Husky 30 gal and boy I have plenty of air for everything from general duty to air for my Harley Davidson MC. The air supply this Husky produces is second to none.....

Bought it a week ago. Finally got around to unboxing it and putting a better drain on bottom. Plugged it in and turned the switch. It made a helluva racket so I turned it off. The flywheel grenaded and a couple pieces were broke off the motor pulley, along w/ a broken tab on the cheap plastic shroud. I took it back to store so hopefully it can be fixed. I will do another review with outcome....

First let me say that this is a replacement for a unit that I've kept running in my shop for 34 year. As an engineer I did my homework before buying this unit. The spec's were right as was the price which included delivery. Other than the compressor being an oil bath type it is also rated at being a continuous operational unit which is important in a shop. The portability is a must and this unit is easy to maneuver. I also like that the upper cut off limit is factory set at 155 so this unit can be used for spray painting and other high pressure applications. It is adjustable at the pressure switch. To learn how to do this look on line for the Condor company. The one thing I didn't expect was how quiet it is. You can talk next to this when it is running. I am impressed with overall quality and how easy it was to change this over to 240vac which only had to be done at the motor. On the down side, I found an air leak right after finishing the run-in procedure. I made up a leak check solution and found the problem right away. It was at the outlet of the pressure switch on the output side indicating that the factory didn't do a leak check on this unit. The fix was easy by applying Teflon tape to the threads of the tube. I look forward to many years of service from this compressor.

Very good product and so quiet

I got the thing home but had to lay it down in my pickup due to having a canopy. What a mess! But I got it out of the box and cleaned it up and hand cranked the pump and let it sit for about 4 hrs to drain oil back where it should. I added about 3 oz of good 30 weight non detergent lubricant and got the level back up where it should be. I then let it run for 30 minutes while having the drain valve open like the manual says. I let it cool for 30 minutes and then cranked it back up to full pressure. It took over 6 minutes to fill up completely but once full, there's a whole bunch of air to be utilized. When it kicks on, it takes just a minute or two to fill back up to 150 psi. It isn't loud at all and sounds kind of cool. It does put out quite the vibration to the pump working but is well damped with the tires and rubber stopper. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you do need to lay it down, there is an easy fix. there is a plug on the top of the crank case that can be removed and put a plug in the threaded port and then when you get it home, just remove the plug and put the vented plastic plug back in. Or drain the oil. It will leak and make a huge mess if you do have to lay it down.
