Bought this air compressor to replace a 15 gallon oil less unit that had recently died on me. Overall the compressor deserves a solid 4.5 out of 5. I did the oil change on the unit after doing the break in as recommended by other reviews. I didn’t see anything in the oil but it was cheap insurance. There are a few things that keep this unit from reaching its full 5 star rating. 1.) Handles. The handles are too short making it difficult to move around. I personally made a handle extension out of EMT conduit and attached it with rivets. 2.) Moisture drain. A unit of this size and weight should already come with the drain extension that just about everyone does to a air compressor. 3.) Oil drain location. This should be located off the side of the compressor so you can easily get a jug or funnel underneath when draining the oil. I intend on modifying this in the future. 4.) The Regulator. The regulator on this is junk. I cranked the thing all the way up and when I pulled the trigger on my impact gun it would drop below 90 psi. Since my old compressor was dead I moved the regulator from my old unit to the new one. Problem solved. Now on to the good stuff. The compressor is QUIET. You can stand right next to it and have a conversation. My air tools are louder than the compressor is. Runs everything I need it to very well. I used the cutoff wheel and it made it through the cuts without lacking any power. My old unit I would have had to wait for it to recharge at least once or twice. Another thing of note. This is rated at 5.3 SCFM at 90. Most of the air tools that I use are around 4.0. So it should keep up very well. I’m looking forward to many years of good use.

I believe that this will be a good compressor for the money. I am replacing a Campbell Hausfeld compressor that I had for close to 30 years. I doubt that I'll need a compressor for another 30 years, but I hope Husky gives me close to the service I got from my last compressor. I use this compressor in my home garage mostly for automotive work: impact wrenches, inflating tires, grinding, air hammer/chisel, blowing stuff etc. I added a Husky brand flexible hose with valve to the bottom of the compressor and cable-tied it to the wheel strut to aid in easily purging water from the tank. The stock purge screw-valve, although easy to use, is right next to the concrete making it difficult to operate unless you tilt the compressor. The stock purge valve is also slow, so spring for the upgrade - you won't regret it. This compressor is quieter than my last compressor, but not as quiet as I had hoped. Don't forget to break-in without load for 20-30 minutes, then change the oil with a non-detergent synthetic. I recommend changing the oil again after a month or so, then annually should be sufficient. I want my stuff to last forever! I had to transport the compressor on it's side from the Home Depot. I called Husky before transporting for their advice, and the customer support rep told me that this would be fine if I let the compressor sit upright overnight, and topped off the oil (replacing leakage) before running the machine. This worked out perfectly and so far no problems. This compressor is on a 20 amp circuit with a bunch of other stuff - I occasionally get a blown breaker when more than a few things are running, so if you can dedicate a circuit it would be good, but no biggie... The quick-connect air outlet is taking a little while to get used to - but it works. The gauges don't seem to be the best quality, but no real complaints. When moving the compressor, the wheels and handles are great, but be aware that it is very top-heavy.

Leaking oil from oil level indicator
Bought this compressor 4 years or so. When running it weeps oil from around the oil level indicator window. Don’t want to tighten it for fear of causing permanent damage. Sucks to have to keep a rag under the leak and fill oil as needed. Probably should have gone with the Dewalt at the time. Other than that it seems to be faily well put together.

    First inpressions
After unpacking and checking all connections and making sure all bolts were tight, I ran it with no load for 30 min for break in ( seating the rings ). Before running, the oil was a little high in the sight glass. After, it was perfectly centered. I then drained the oil and measured the amount removed ( 10 fl.oz. ). The oil was cleaner then expected. I thought there were some metal shavings in the oil but they turned out to be black paint chips. Most likely from around the drain plug. Refilled oil and lit her off. Shut down right at 150 psi. Checked for air leaks, none. Regulator isn’t pricey or fancy, but unless your air brushing it’s plenty good enough for the average garage or small shop. I love this size compressor because it leaves my wall space open. This is my second compressor of this size. The last one was a oil less unit. It was unbelievably loud.

My wife purchased this as a 2017 Christmas gift for me and for various reasons I did not use it until July 2018. It broke badly when I turned it on. After carefully following the startup procedure I plugged it in and turned the switch on and wham....all kinds of pieces broke inside the plastic shroud. Some of the pieces stayed inside the shroud but some broke the shroud and came flying out. The flywheel and belt disintegrated on startup and it looks like the flywheel is made out of a very cheap pot metal (see photo of shattered flywheel). Not sure what I will do now because maybe something else is broken inside the compressor. Maybe Home Depot will take it back, but after this experience I do not trust the quality of this product.

        Junk...
Bought it a week ago. Finally got around to unboxing it and putting a better drain on bottom. Plugged it in and turned the switch. It made a helluva racket so I turned it off. The flywheel grenaded and a couple pieces were broke off the motor pulley, along w/ a broken tab on the cheap plastic shroud. I took it back to store so hopefully it can be fixed. I will do another review with outcome....

First let me say that this is a replacement for a unit that I've kept running in my shop for 34 year. As an engineer I did my homework before buying this unit. The spec's were right as was the price which included delivery. Other than the compressor being an oil bath type it is also rated at being a continuous operational unit which is important in a shop. The portability is a must and this unit is easy to maneuver. I also like that the upper cut off limit is factory set at 155 so this unit can be used for spray painting and other high pressure applications. It is adjustable at the pressure switch. To learn how to do this look on line for the Condor company. The one thing I didn't expect was how quiet it is. You can talk next to this when it is running. I am impressed with overall quality and how easy it was to change this over to 240vac which only had to be done at the motor. On the down side, I found an air leak right after finishing the run-in procedure. I made up a leak check solution and found the problem right away. It was at the outlet of the pressure switch on the output side indicating that the factory didn't do a leak check on this unit. The fix was easy by applying Teflon tape to the threads of the tube. I look forward to many years of service from this compressor.

I got the thing home but had to lay it down in my pickup due to having a canopy. What a mess! But I got it out of the box and cleaned it up and hand cranked the pump and let it sit for about 4 hrs to drain oil back where it should. I added about 3 oz of good 30 weight non detergent lubricant and got the level back up where it should be. I then let it run for 30 minutes while having the drain valve open like the manual says. I let it cool for 30 minutes and then cranked it back up to full pressure. It took over 6 minutes to fill up completely but once full, there's a whole bunch of air to be utilized. When it kicks on, it takes just a minute or two to fill back up to 150 psi. It isn't loud at all and sounds kind of cool. It does put out quite the vibration to the pump working but is well damped with the tires and rubber stopper. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you do need to lay it down, there is an easy fix. there is a plug on the top of the crank case that can be removed and put a plug in the threaded port and then when you get it home, just remove the plug and put the vented plastic plug back in. Or drain the oil. It will leak and make a huge mess if you do have to lay it down.

This seems to be a very good compressor, doesn't take up to much space, not that loud, I'm happy so far with it, the only thing I would say is that I ordered it on line and picked up in store, after getting it home noticed it was missing a part for the pump called the store and they took care of it, I did have to go to another store for the part the one I bought was the last one and it was the floor display ( kind of explains the missing part ) but it wasn't a big deal, so just check things over before you leave the store after picking up merchandise. ( Thought I did but guess I was to excited over a new toy ).

I purchased this compressor based on the great reviews. I like the compressor so far however after running the break in period and changing the compressor oil I followed the recommendations of some of the other reviewers and went about replacing the air drain valve with a ball petcock. While trying to remove the air valve it broke off in the compressor. Since its the weekend I'll have to wait till monday to see what huskey has to say. Not sure what they put on those threads to lock that petcock in there so tightly. Still I do like the compressor I'm sure this is a small glitch. I ran the break in period on one of the regular 110v outlets not a dedicated one. No circuit breakers tripped so I was very happy about that. I'll revisit this review after I get the response from husky about the petcock isssue.

First and foremost, I need to say that this air compressor is performing better than I originally thought! And to set the record straight, IT DOES COME WITH COMPRESSOR OIL. As it states in the manual, you need to break-in the compressor before its initial use with a synthetic blend compressor oil. I was in a unique situation where I did not have a wall outlet to use, so I had to use the over head outlet that powers the garage door opener. I was careful on choosing the CORRECT/OR ADEQUATE extension cord, using a 12/3 (12 gauge 3 prong one that is only 3 foot long and it least 15 amps. I did not want to have any voltage drop what so ever to possibly damage the electric motor - and it worked just fine! This unit comes with a 14 gauge 15 amp power cord, so you need to run a THICKER gauge such as 12 or 10 -NEVER USE A COMMON 16 gauge extension cord! I have used this compressor so far to strip the tough POR-15 chassis paint on my '31 chassis, using a mini air orbital sander. I've also used my impact wrench to loosen the nut on the pitman arm without a hitch! Next, I will use my air hammer to remove the pitman arm off the chassis. Be sure to add air tool oil to each tool before use - a few drops to the end where it connects to your hose. All-in-all, I am impressed with this Husky air compressor - you will too!

First compressor arrived damaged (broken fan/pulley) so I had to return it and order another one. Second one had no problems and works just fine. Ran it through the break in process, changed the oil and hooked it up to my workshop air system. Runs very quite compared to my old oil less compressor. Very happy so far.

I first used the Husky air compressor to blow out my sprinkler system. It appeared to do the job, however, time will tell when I turn my sprinkler system on in the spring. The compressor is very quiet as I can hold a conversation with another person without having to yell!! The only issue I have is that the drain valve is not very user friendly. I've found the easiest way to access the valve is to tip the compressor onto my sawhorse and then activate the valve. See attached photos.

Works as expected, read reviews, be prepared.
Purchased this compressor in the store 2 days ago. I followed the quick break in procedure. I read the reviews and complaints. I purchased fittings to move the gauge, install a valve for the oil drain and install a proper valve for the air drain / moisture drain on the bottom of the tank. I also purchased two extra bottles of oil. After breaking in the compressor I ran it one more cycle and then immediately changed the oil. I then drained all the air out of it, installed the bigger air drain valve, the elbow for the gauge and the oil drain valve. I then ran the compressor one more cycle and checked for leaks. I found several of the tubing connections bubbling which I was able to tighten to stop the leaks. I also noticed that the cylinder to block and cylinder head bolts were all able to be retightened and the machine ran even better. I left it full overnight with nothing connected to it and it held pressure all night. The next day I used the machine for some small automotive repairs and once complete changed the oil again. Every time it did have some gray matter coming out. I rechecked all the bolts and connections, checked the belt and converted it to 220 volt which the compressor runs much better and uses is a lot less amperage. I agree it is sad that you have to do this to a machine to make it work properly but for an extra 60 bucks it cost me I should have this machine for a very long time. I also plan on using it for a few more projects and then changing the oil again to a better Amsoil product.

Excellent Compressor Quiet and Easy to move around
The Air compressor has Good power and it is slim enough and vertical to fit on a corner of my garage, it is also quiet to be in the garage while its working, I have a 2.5 car garage and my Husky is very quiet. I like the quick connector to get the hose right in and out easy. 30 gallon is a great size for either when I am painting or while using it for the tools for the car. I really like that it is easy to move around just because I do not need anybody to help me move it. And I do move it from the garage to the yard. The gauges are easy to read, it is sturdy and have no problems with it. the right choice

                  Typical HUSKY quality
Fully assembled with nothing to do but break it in and use. Take the time to break it in per the instructions. That is a full 20 minute run with the drain valve and hose connection wide open to prevent any load on compressor. I removed the air filters and put a few drops of oil on top of the pistons before starting just for insurance. After break in it took about 7 minutes to fill and stop. For a V-twin belt drive 30 gallon compressor it is a fairly compact unit. I drained air to an even 100 PSI and let it set for 3 days with the air hose and nozzle connected. When I checked it was down to 90 PSI. OOOPPPPSSS, I did not have the drain valve closed tight. I tightened that and let it go another 3 days at 100 PSI with hose unconnected and wham!!! No pressure loss at all. It is really fairly quiet. One can have a conversation near it while running without yelling. I only have 20 inches from the back wall to the garage door track and 18 inches from the front wall. I trimmed the end of my bench and it is comfortably out of the way.

                  Great For Automotive Work
I have a small 4.6 gallon twin stack compressor which I use for almost everything however when doing automotive work it cycles on almost constantly. That was a sign that it just was not quite up to the task. At least those particular task. While I hated to give up more garage space, this Husky 30 gallon compressor is exactly what was needed. This compressor is ready to go right out of the box. Nonetheless, there is an excellent instruction manual which also goes into detail about maintenance. There are compressors that require little to no maintenance but that usually comes at the cost of lesser performance. This compressor is listed as "Ultra-Quiet" and "Portable" but that needs to be put into perspective. When you turn it on, you definitely hear it but you can hold a conversation while it is running. As for portable, the large wheels and handles make it easy to move around but it has some weight to it. I've parked it in a corner of my garage. I'm still breaking it in but it runs well. From empty it fills in about 8 minutes. I'm now able to use my wrench or ratchet for extended periods before the compressor has to cycle on. Husky did a great job with this one. It's sturdy, well built, and reasonably priced.

                  Best compressor I have owned
Very quiet running especially in a closed garage. Less than half the noise than on a direct drive half its size. The 150 psi maintains operating pressure even on a nailer air gun. The compressor motor doesn't start and stop like it does on my other large compressor which is a direct drive. This compressor is assembled in the USA and comes completely assembled, no tools needed! Both compressor cylinders have their own air intake filters.I run it on my 15 amp house circuit without any tripped circuits.

                  Definitely Quiet
This is the quietest air compressor I have owned. There is no set up on this one, opened the box and it was ready to go.I did the 20 minute break in,tested the pressure relief valve and all was good so I brought it up to pressure and set my output.Everything works as it should with no leaks.I have owned several oil air compressors and my most recent was a 8 gallon Husky. But I needed something bigger. This 30 gallon is perfect and really fits my needs and I love how quiet it is compared to the others.

                  Good power and Quiet
I bought this to replace an old oil less compressor that was noisy and really struggled with my 1/2in. drive impact. The first time I used this was to remove CV Axles and my impact ,air hammer, air ratchet all ran the unit only cycled 1 time. So the tank holds well so far and I am very happy with performance and the quietness of this unit. Buy it and you too will be happy. I almost forgot the guys at Home Depot in Rowlett Tx. that helped me load it were great.. Thanks guys!!

Good compressor for the price; some issues with service and/or quality control
This compressor is versatile, quiet and provides good performace for the price. It does not take up a lot of floor space with its vertical design. It also drives my air die grinder (very high air use compared to other tools) with only a minimum loss of power on only 110V supply (will run on 220 with little modification.) The issues arose when the pump failed, apparently seized, after only a week of use. Break-in procedures were followed, i.e. letting the compressor run for 20 minutes with the botton drain valve open. Oil level was checked before, during, and after. Pump started bogging down and pressure fluctuating. Thought initially the extension cord was insufficient, so the pump was moved near a dedicated GFCI outlet and problems remained. Occasionally there was a smell of rubber burning as if the belt was heating up. Finally the pump stopped turning even though the motor was. I called the Husky repair line to make arrangements to have the unit serviced on-site. When I spoke with the repair facility they said because it is classified as "portable" that I had to bring it in to their shop. I said if I had to do that, I might as well just return the unit to the store for an even exchange, which I ended out doing. To Home Depot's credit, they did an immediate replacement with a unit on the floor. I noticed the oil in the sight glass of the new unit was cloudy instead of the translucent color of the oil in the previous unit. The oil level in the new floor unit was also low. I topped off the oil and followed the break-in procedure again. I also changed the oil today just to be safe. As of this writing the unit is functioning well and oil in the sight glass is maintaining its translucent color. There is no drop in pressure or change in speed of the pump and motor assembly as previously led to pump failure. The moral of this story? I would recommend this unit on features and price, but if you do need warranty service do not expect much. If unit is within Home Depot's return policy timeframe, I would return to store for an even exchange and not even bother with the repair facility.

This is a Mat Industries compressor with a 2 hp motor the same as porter cable and power mate 30 gal the only difference is this pressure switch http://www.homedepot.com/p/Powermate-125-155-psi-Pressure-Switch-034-0184RP/202592807 and a 165 psi safety valve  I modded mine with the pressure switch and safety valve, 4  1/2in stainless street elbows and 2 solberg filters pn fs10050 it quieted it down almost 8db at 15 ft and royal purple compressor oil after break in, its purple in the pic not black I added 6x1/8in brass pipe nipple and cap to make oil changing a breeze Also added good stainless oil filled gages, a drain extender, and a air cutoff ball valve  I made a pipe dryer or condenser out of galvanized 1/2in pipe with Ingersoll rand aro 1000 series filters regulators and a oiler to keep tools happy   You can lay this compressor down on its side to get it home if you drain the oil first see 1/8 pipe nipple above

Great Compressor, Heavier Electrical Circuit For Supply
Compressor comes assembled. I opened drain valve and let it run for twenty minutes per instructions for break-in. Compressor would not re-start once it filled initially. It would turn slowly and eventually trip breaker. I took it back to store and the kind sales person apologized and ordered a second unit for me. The second compressor did the exact same thing. This time I re-plugged the unit into our washer/dryer circuit and Bingo works perfect. Fortunately it was fairly simple to hang an additional plug from that circuit into garage. Compressor is working great, fills fairly quick and is quiet compared to other units. I feel concerned that first compressor was returned and is actually working just fine. The issue is Husky could not be reached by the phone number on the instructions and the store employees are not able to offer any troubleshooting advice. Bottom line is many home garages do not have a large enough circuit to carry the amps for a restart and users need to plan accordingly. Great compressor otherwise. I would recommend.

Not able to find a better unit for even near the same money
Only quiet when compared to the newer obnoxious sounding compressors. Compare a Harley to a chain saw. Air filters not as pictured on line. Larger baffled air cleaners would help decrease sound to near quiet, not ultra quiet. All in all if the unit stands the test of time better than typical Chinese quality.

                  Good Compressor But...
I bought this compressor a year ago after my previous compressor bit the dust. After about six months of use, the motor failed. I guess I was one of the unlucky ones. I praise Home Depot customer service and the repair facility for their fast and courteous service, but the manufacturer of the motor took almost an entire month to send a new motor. Besides the hit-or-miss motor issue, I use my compressor in my home auto shop. Like everyone else says, run the break-in and drain that oil. It'll be full of metal particles. Replace with fresh oil and you're good to go. You should also replace the drain valve. I used a brass 1/4" NPT 90° street elbow, a gate valve and a few brass pipe nipples. Now it's much easier to drain. The regulator that comes with it is junk and restrictive. I removed the factory regulator and pipe nipples (everything up to the pressure switch) and installed 1/4" - 1/2" pipe fittings and plumbed it into the hard lines of my shop. It keeps up well with low to medium demand tools like air ratchets, blowguns etc. High-demand tools like impacts and die grinders will of course be intermittent use, but not too big a deal for me since I'm not running production out of my shop. The noise level is not bad at all. In my two-car garage/shop, I can talk to people without raising my voice at all. I would highly recommend plugging this into a dedicated 20-amp circuit. This unit pulls a bit of juice on startup. I haven't measured it, but I can tell it does because the lights still dim upon startup and I have it plugged into a dedicated 20-amp circuit going to the main panel on my house. I'll be running 240V circuits to my shop this winter whereupon I'll convert my compressor to run on it's own dedicated 240V circuit. That's another reason I chose this compressor over other similar choices. Overall, with the exception of the motor issue, I have been very happy with this compressor. I think it's one of the best choices out of the 120V compressors on the market. I plan on having this compressor into the foreseeable future. If the motor quits on me again, I'll install a good Leeson.

                  Very pleased so far.
Replaced a 25 year old sears craftsman air compressor with this.I will use for what I would call lite duty "garage" work. First hats off to my local homedepot I ordered it came in a little over a week very pleasant buying experience. Only two real dislikes are cheap gauges and having to install a ball valve for the drain, the drain valve is a must for easy access it's no big deal but it would be nice if it came with the unit. Unboxed ready to run, did the 20 minute break in changed the oil all though it did not look that bad. I like the bigger tank had a 20 gallon and really like the space saving vertical design. Looks nice in the black theme, pneumatic wheels are nice to absorb with the rubber feet vibration. Very quiet running for a aircompressor, if your in the market take a look at this husky 30 gallon compressor decent price for what you get.
