Bad fit and finish,bad Q.C.
The quality on husky sockets and wrenches has gone down over the last 5-6 years. The 12 point 1/2 drive sockets 9/16 down and 14 mm down are badly broached and half chromed. Some sockets are off center Smaller wrenches have too much chamfer on box and some wrenches are cut short on open end, while some are just deformed

Husky Mechanic Tool Case - HORRIBLE DESIGN
Purchased the Husky Mechanic Tool Set from Home Depot. Drawers lack locks or catches so EVERYTHING falls out when picked up or carried. Noticed a new design. Called HD/Husky customer service to purchase or to see if covered by warranty. No luck on either. Warning-Make sure you purchase the updated case or you will be constantly picking the sockets up off the floor. Very disappointed with product and customer service.

          Great tools poor storage
I bought the set only 2 days ago and while opening the locks for the drawers one snapped off and now allows all the tools in the drawers to slide out. It also doesn’t provide a thick enough foam piece in the top compartment to keep the tools in place and after slight movement the tools are all out of place. I love the quality of the tools but the case just seems made

            Tool box locks don't hold
Husky has always been great quality tools as well as great value, this tool set won't disappoint the tools are great the plastic tool box is the issue although it looks nice and sturdy it falls short of being great or even good at that. The locking hinges that are suppose to secure the doors of tools does not hold they snap shut but once you lift it up & set on your way expect to play 290 tools pickup from the ground the doors constantly fall out and tools everywhere tools are great case isn't

              Do not waste money!
The first set I got the tools started to rust. Took back got another set. The day I got it one of the latches on front broke off. The tools you guessed it are rusting again. Can not close bottom drawer too tight. Glad they stay inside or I'd have rust and wait I do have rust and crappy box. I would not waste you hard earned cash on this set. Have owned a lot of husky tools in past never anything like this. Guess quality goes down when you get in a bigger set.

                Wrenches Fall Out
I have a set of Huskys like this and love them. Mine is an older version of the case and it needs to be improved. After a while, the wrenches will not stay in the plastic slots and fall out. Being this case is also plastic, more than likely it to, whill have the same issue in time as mine.

                  Tools constantly dump out!
The tools themselves are absolutely wonderful. Problem is no matter how great the tools are if the toolbox dumps out every time you pick it up by the handle they're worthless. If you properly pick it up by the handle the trays are too heavy in the front and force their way out the slide and dump out on the ground every time. If you buy this set buy a strap or something to put around it and you'll love it if you don't you'll regret it.

                    Bottom latches are horrible
Out of all tool boxes I have own similar to this one, I have never been so unhappy with how to bottom latches are for the bottom two drawers. The two times I have had to move this tool box within 24 hours of receiving it, the latches get undone and the drawers fall out, causing all of the tools to go everywhere. If they would consider redesigning the box so the latches actually lock, I would be happier, but this is truly a disgrace.

                      Case latch broke second day
Excellent toolset and good warrantee until you read the fine print "warrantee excludes case". It could be reasonable except mine broke the second day after being opened a handful of times. It should last longer than that.

the tools are good but the case it terrible. the sockets do not click into their spots, so if the box isn't flat, they get everywhere. would not buy again

Ok tools but do not buy
The drawers do not stay shut causing it to lose sockets all over the place and when you go to home Depot to return and get a new one they won't accept if it's missing anything. I've had to use a ratchet strap to keep it close but in a rush I don't always remember to strap it

                            Grab a bungee cord
An excellent set of wrenches and sockets, but my advice is grab a bungee cord so you're not sitting in your driveway in the dark picking up and sorting 200 pieces of small metal. The little door flaps that hold the drawers in place can not take the weight and will all come tumbling down. Trust me.

                              Flimsy Box
The tools are of premium quality but the box itself is where they cheaped out on. The front two latches broke after a few uses, and I can’t even buy the latches any where else, so every time I pick up the tool set I have to angle it so the front two drawers don’t fall out. I really wish they provided some kind of solution or even parts I can buy separately to repair it.

Excellent set for DIY’ers and professionals alike.
I purchased the 290pc set and am exceptionally pleased. Whether you’re a professional mechanic or an average Joe working out of your garage, this set will get the job done every time. The case is appealing to the eyes, very well organized and easy to use and plenty tight to hold your tools in place to prevent a spill. The quality of the individual tools are top-notch and appear to be neck and neck with top brands, and don’t forget about the lifetime warranty! I’ve used this set for several oil changes, pulling an engine apart on a CJ5, changing mower blades and much more in the short time I’ve owned it, and I’ve got to say, these tools are solid and easy to work with. I’m usually pretty critical about my purchases and do a lot of research before buying—I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this product to anyone, I’ve already recommended it to a couple of ‘tool nut’ coworkers. You won’t find this assortment of tools with this quality for this price anywhere!

This Husky ratchet set is good if you need a starter set with a bunch of pieces. As with most sets like these, there are a bunch of non-socket type tools (Allen wrenches and some combo wrenches) included which chew up the “piece count” with items that aren’t sockets or ratchet accessories. The case is good enough, and each socket tray space is labeled with the socket’s size.

Well, here we have it, a great, and complete set of tools ranging from 5/32” - 1” SAE / 4 – 22mm, 6- and 12-point sockets in 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in drive, 72 tooth Ratchets for each drive size you have here a full range of options with some of the sizes in each drive size. That is just the start, there are 26 Bit Sockets, 1/4 – 5.8” SAE / 8 – 18mm, 12-Point Combination Wrench’s (13) and Hex Keys, both long and short arm. Plus, nut setters, bits (Philips and Slotted), spark plug sockets and Extensions and Adapters. All in a well-organized storage case/box, that takes me back to my FAA repair man days and we have many of the basic tools as here to do most all the task needed. Yes, I also had some other special sockets sizes, bit types and long arm ratchets etc... but even in auto repair there’s always special tools needed. I like the 72-tooth ratchet with its 5° arc swing making them easy to use in those hard-to-reach spots. The chrome finish provides corrosion resistance, but beyond that it easier to clean. All sockets, bits, wrenches have large, hard-stamped size markings allow for easy readability as does the box. Husky’s ‘Mechanics Tool Set with Chest (244-Piece)’ can’t go wrong with husky, ALL; ‘Backed by a lifetime warranty, if your Husky product ever fails, bring it back and we will replace it for free.’ Done this more than once – simple as that, all that’s needed is the damaged tool in hand and it was replaced.

For years I have been working with small sets of tools and it seems when I started a project, I always grabbed the wrong set. What I grabbed was SAE when I needed metric, or it was not beefy enough or just the wrong tool to begin with. This Husky 244-piece set has everything I need in one convenient chest. In one hefty 13x20x10.5” high chest It has a complete (40 piece) set of Allen wrenches in 4 labeled holders (2 Metric and 2 Standard); ¼, 3/8 and ½” ratchets with extenders and converters; a full set of shallow and deep sockets and drivers; open and box end wrenches, and a nut driver set with handle. I found the action on the ratchets to be smooth and they are comfortable to use. The best thing is having every tool in one convenient chest with well labeled spaces for each tool. It is easy to grab the right tool on the first try and easy to spot a hole where something is missing. Having everything together is a great time saver. I have really enjoyed working with these tools and looking forward to many years of usage.

The Husky 244 piece ratchet and tool set is perfect for a household garage. The kit has pretty much everything that you are likely to encounter a need for as a homeowner. All the standard socket sizes are covered in both SAE and Metric, as well as in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sizes. Each of the standard size ratchets are in the kit, as well. The kit also contains a hex driver and an array of hex heads (Phillips, flat, torx, Allen, etc.). There are also adapters that range up and down between sizes. The kit comes in a compact shadow-boxed case that makes keeping organized a snap. Overall, the kit is lighter weight than I would have thought it would be. The finish on the tools is a very nice chrome finish that should keep the rust away. One thing that seemed like it may have been a bit rushed was the deburring step on the box wrenches. These seemed to have a sharp ridge on the box-end. This should wear down with time, but is also likely where any future rust would start. The only downside I find with the tool kit is the case. The two primary latches that keep the kit closed seem a little flimsy, and I would worry about the case falling open while I'd be carrying it.. The rest of the case is great... even the handle seems well thought out. Even with that, though, I would definitely recommend this tool kit to anyone who is getting their first car, or first home, as it has most of the tools you will probably find yourself needing, and it's all together in a nice, tidy package.

For years I have been working from three different sets of sockets from different brand manufacturers. The sets never seemed to be where I needed them, often in the house when I needed them in the garage. This set puts all of the three common sizes (1/4, 3/8, 1/2") all in an easy to carry case. The set also comes with a basic set of combination wrenches (metric and imperial), screwdriver with interchangeable bits, Torx hex and Phillips sockets, Allen wrenches both socket mounted and individual. There are a small variety of socket extensions as well. The chrome finish looks well applied and should last for years. There is a recess for most everything so you will know if you've left a socket or bit behind. Only suggestion would be to add a 14mm combination wrench as certain cars require that size and if you can't fit a ratchet in you would still have to supply your own. All in all a great set of tools.

I don't think I will ever have to purchase another tool set again when it comes to ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, and hex keys. This set appears to have EVERYTHING I will ever need. In fact, I have decided to give my old tools away to my young nephews because I won't be needing them anymore. I currently have them hanging on a peg board, but this set is so much more handy because everything fits nicely and neatly in a durable, plastic chest. As a result, it will take up a lot less room and I know the things that I will need will all be inside. The presentation of the tools is very impressive. Everything is nicely arranged by size on four separate shelves. The shelves are magnetic, which is a nice touch. The parts easily slide into place and are held there so that they don't go rolling around when you transport them in the case. Two of the shelves pull out from the bottom, another nice feature. As soon as I get familiar with what is on each shelf, I will be able to quickly go to each one, depending on the part that I need. There are also latches on each side to secure the shelf. BTW, I never knew that they made so many different-sized hex keys! My current collection consists of about twenty, whereas this tool set has four or five times that amount. Really pleased with this tool set because it is a "one-stop" shop for all of the tools/accessories I need. Everything appears well-made and has a quality feel to it. Definitely something that will be passed on to future generations because it is that good and that complete.

I got this all in one toolbox to go in my garage. I use tools more in my shop, but I wanted something for the garage so I wouldn't have to keep going back to my shop to get tools when I work on our bikes and other small things. This Husky set has every thing a person needs for their various needs. No, it doesn't include a hammer but beyond that, it has it all. First off, the hard shell case is awesome. It is built like a standard tool box, but better. It has latches to hold down the top door, and also latches to secure the 2 drawers so that they do not slide out while transporting it. The 2 drawers are completely removable to allow you to take the tray wherever you are working. In this set there are three sizes of ratchets and also sockets for each size ratchet. 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 sizes, with the plethora of SAE and Metric socket sizes to go with it. In drawer number 1, you will also find a large set of deep well sockets as a bonus. Secured into the top door of the case, there are SAE and Metric combination wrenches. In drawer 2 you will find a screwdriver handle that will fit all the bits you need. There are the usual, slotted, Philips and torx bits, to use with the screwdriver. But this set also includes Allen head bites. This is big for me, because I do not like using those little allen wrenches. As a side note here, this tool set includes a lot of Allen wrenches. Including a set that has a long handle to give you leverage when using.  That revolutionized things for me. The other thing I really like about the screwdriver bit option is that it includes socket head ones to give you a full set of nutdrivers. The bits fit into the screwdriver handle securely and also feels like it is magnetized to hold it in better. As another bonus,  there is a full set of specialty sockets that have the slotted, Phillips,  torx and Allen bit heads that are fabricated in a socket. This allows you to use these with a ratchet. If you are looking for a toolset that has it all this one is for you. Everything is constructed well, including the toolbox. The tools are all made of quality grade steel and the sizes of everything are etched clearly on all sockets and wrenches. This amazing set is the most comprehensive tool set I have ever owned.

This is a good set of wrenches and different sized sockets, all packed into a good-sized case. The weight of the case is hefty, but the choices of wrench and socket are extensive. The sockets come in 3/8-, 1/2-, and 3/4-inch size so there should be no job that this set cannot handle. There are different sized ratchets as well, which will allow you to tackle to smallest nut to the largest bolt. All-in-all, this is an excellent product!

I believe the quality of the tool box is a good indicator of the quality of the tools inside. The Husky 244 piece Ratchet Mechanics tool set did not disappoint. This large tool set arrived in a nice sturdy chest with removable drawers. It keeps everything organized, unlike other sets where the tools end up everywhere making it impossible to quickly find tools when you need them. We are impressed with the quality of these tools. The tools have a good weight, performed well and are corrosion resistant. The tool sizes are super easy to read, and the large variety of tools makes this set a real plus. This impressive tool set is great for the mechanic or the diy'er. Due to the large selection of tools, we will be getting rid of some of our old rusty tools. Don't forget the lifetime warranty with free replacements. Thanks Husky for offering a great selection of good quality tools at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

I received my Husky mechanics tool set containing 244 pieces in a blow molded case in good condition. The sizes of the wrenches and other secured pieces is raise molded into the case. There is a fair selection of combination wrenches in the lid. They appear to be very well made with a good finish and polish, and deeply engraved sizes. The box end is slightly angled. The range up to 18 mm and 5/8 of an inch in size. On the top open shelf, there are 3 ratcheting wrenches with locking buttons, various extensions, conversion bits, and a good selection of 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch standard sockets, some being 6 point and others 12. Some sockets look like they were made by different machines with different methods. Again the finish and chrome appear to be pretty good with small variations and dings being present. Some looked like they weren’t washed well, but were shiny underneath. The sizes are deeply engraved and quite easy to read. The two drawers are secured by latches on either side. Opening these is not difficult and keeps the drawers quite secure while carrying the case. The lid is secured by 2 plastic latches. For the weight of the set, I’m not sure how long they will last. The first drawer contains deep wall sockets of various sizes, with 2 spark plug sockets (5/8” and 13/16”). Sizes range up to 13/16” and 18mm. There are only five 3/8” drive metric deep sockets. The rest are 1/4”. The larger socket sizes are 3/8” drive and the rest 1/4”. The finish on some of the smaller ones is a bit dull, and uneven compared to the standard sockets. There’s a selection of various bits in loose holders, nut drivers and a 1/4” hex magnet handle. The bottom drawer has Allen wrenches at the rear, SAE and metric, duplicated in 10 long and 10 short lengths. The SAE are in black holders, metric grey. There are metric and standard 3/8” driver bits (Allen, Torx, a few Philips and slotted) towards the front. All in all you get a large number of decent quality tools in an accessible case. It’s a bit bulky and weighs in at just shy of 16 lbs. You’ll probably want to just take the drawers out and bring the selection you need to your work, rather than the whole kit. This set is made in Taiwan with a lifetime guarantee. I can’t speak to long term durability since I just got this set. I like the kit and will find good use for it in my wrenching.

                                  Awesome gift
It has everything you need. Nice case with everything sorted out for you. First time using the set was yesterday helping my father replacing his led on his 1997 chevy.

Great set with one major flaw - How I fixed it!
I LOVE this set. The only drawback is when toting it around by the top handle, the toolbox can pitch forward to dump the slide-in drawers all over the floor. This happened to me THREE times! So, I took one of my kid's white are pencils to score a line down the front. From there, I drilled a series of small holes from the top of the lid to the bottom of the box using the scored line to keep everything lined up. Then, I slid a metal rod down through the works and I closed everything up. No more dumped tools! Open and remove the rod to use the set. The whole fix took me all of 15 minutes.

I really loved this set but the down side is the the bottom two drawers are not very secure and fly open when you carry it. Not fun having to put everything back in place.

                                      Wonderful tools, JUNK case
Husband just brought me home my own mechanics set so I can work on my classic mustang. Took off the cardboard and went to carry it in the garage and the two lower drawers dumped out and spilled everything out. Poor design. Cannot recommend the case. No way of latching the drawers into the case. Super dumb. Now I am spending the next hour resorting all the tools back out. So mad.
