This Hygea Natural 3 oz. Bed Bug Travel Spray is just the right size to take on a plane with you. I don't know if it works because I have not gotten any bed bugs. But I guess since I have no bed bugs after traveling for the holidays it must work. Seriously why risk it when a compact potent weapon like this can stop those nasty little bugs from getting into your bags and clothes. It is well worth it when the little hitch hikers go somewhere else.
We ordered the Hygea Natural 3 oz. Bed Bug Travel Spray to use when we are traveling
out of state and to spray hotel beds, luggage and seats to prevent taking a bed bug infestation home. We like the 3 oz. bottle size for its convenience and because the product is natural and safe to use around children and pets. We also like the fact that it is ready to use.
When I received this SEEDS item, I was excited, although it was a small bottle and wondered if it would go very far. I used it to spray my mattress before putting on my hypoallergenic cover. It dried quickly which I was happy about. I am hoping it has killed the dust mites and will keep the bed bug at bay which I don’t have a problem with. One positive I can give it is that it doesn’t have a notable odor, which I love given my allergies and my pets.
I'm somewhat hesitant about this product. Although the major ingredient is derived from a natural product - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), my daughter and I have always reacted poorly to products that contain SLS, which is usually the second ingredient listed in hair and soap products, among many others. It typically makes us itch and/or get scaly rashes. For that reason, I'm hesitant to go spraying it all over my house and bed to kill bugs.
It says it kills bed bugs, lice, fleas, dust mites and most crawling pets. I haven't had the need to use it yet. I ordered the small 3 fl. oz size thinking it would be good for travel purposes. I'm so terrified of anyone in our family bringing home bed bugs from a hotel room, plane or whatever that I'm willing to spray every hotel room we enter to make sure no critters come home with us!
Other reviews suggest that this product must be used in combination with other all natural products like diatomaceous earth to be effective at eliminating indoor pests. If you're not having success with this on its own, I suggest you try diatomaceous earth as well. I once saw what appeared to be a bed bug nymph in our bedroom bed bug glue trap so I sprinkled diatomaceous earth all over the doggone house. I've not seen another pest since.
So this product is sold as a bed bug exterminator, and fortunately I do not have bed bugs here. I do, however have fleas from my dogs and so I tested it on their bedding, couches, and even my mattress. First off, if you use it as directed (a light mist over the material), I saw no color bleaching or staining on several types of material. Also, its scent is very light, not overpowering like many flea and lice products. Also, it is listed as being safe to use near pets. It does work as a flea killer, and since it kills instantly, I can only assume that it would be good for hotel rooms - make your bed safe before sleeping in it. As far as at home use, I could find no information as to how often treatment is needed, and so cannot report on that.
I have not had the opportunity to use this yet, but the peace of mind this will provide will be worth its weight in gold. Unfortunately hotels do not disinfect their mattresses leaving the little bugs free to feast on you. Of course not every hotel bed is infested, but I don't want to find out the hard way, and I sure don't want the little buggers following me home. I wish I would have founf this years ago.
I purchased this to us in hotel/motel rooms when traveling in that I sometimes stay at inexpensive motels when traveling on short notice. It is difficult to evaluate a product when you are not sure if intended problem actually exists. I use this on the mattress whenever I check into motel and have had no issues with bedbugs, etc. It is indeed odorless and I have not had any physical reactions to it. It is fairly inexpensive so I will continue to use it as I travel simply as a safety precaution.
Thankfully I have not had to test the bed bug killing solution but did bring the bottle along on a trip. I kept the bottle in a side pocket in my duffel bag and at some point in the transport portion of the trip the plastic cover of the spray top broke and some of the liquid got out. Otherwise small size and under the TSA approved size is a huge plus.
BEING THAT MY WIFE VISITS A LOT OF HOMES TO HELP THESE FAMILIES IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT WAYS. THIS BUG SPRAYS GIVES HER CONFIDENCE TO NOT TO BRING ANYTHING HOME FROM THESE VISITS. SHE HAS NOTICE THAT AT SOME HOMES SHE SPOTTED DIFFERENT CRITTERS, SOME LOOKED LIKE BED BUGS. SO SHE SPRAYS THESE BUGS AND WHEN SHE LEAVES SHE SPRAYS HER CLOTHES TO MAKE SURE THAT SHE IS NOT TRANSPORTING THESE CRITTERS FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER. BUGS CAN BE FOUND IN THE FINEST OF HOMES THEY WILL HITCH A RIDE ON PEOPLES CLOTHES AND LAND ANYWHERE. THIS PRODUCT IS A GREAT IDEA.
