This item shows a plug, item does NOT come with a plug. I only purchased this one because it advertises a plug and other reviews complained about how quickly it goes through batteries. Disappointed. No Home Depot near me and it’s a hassle to return. Also, very high pitch or barely audible tone. No in between. Disappointed in this item and the way it is portrayed on home depot’s Website.

I've had this item for nearly a month. I have it set up in my detached garage, about 75 feet from my house, so when I leave my metal garage door open, and look-e-looz happen to come inside, it will alert me. This should be noted it's not a direct line of sight so the signal is being transmitted directly thru a metal building. I have not caught anyone yet, but have tested the unit many times, which it seems to detect movement as designed and set off the alarm 90-95% of the time. What else can you expect for a fully wireless unit. I wish it were white and not dark grey. Also the receiver has, what I think is odd, two slots for mounting, where it should only have/need only one, because it's not that big or heavy to necessitate two...therefore you need two screws side/side to mount the receiver to the wall. Also wish it had a more not so disturbing alert. The shortest tone/alert is a: ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong (4x's - though its much more electronic sounding than I make it sound). It really should just have a single ding dong alert for the shortest alert.

I'm giving this a 5 star rating for performance and value. If you just want a no frills alarm, this is it. I have had two for about 2 months now, along with two extra sensor units, and they still work as described. I also bought the wall plug adapter (~$15) to avoid buying C batteries. Specifically, I bought them to cover a townhouse we rented on the island of Bonaire, where there is a lot of breaking and entering crime. I put the sensors downstairs covering points of entry, and the alarm units in the bedrooms upstairs on "low" setting. Amazing to me is that the sensors and alarm units worked despite masonry interior walls and heavy ceramic tile floors in the townhouse. I now have them deployed in my home covering entry points. The alarm in low mode will wake me up over the sound of a room air conditioner, and the high mode causes a heart attack. However, I would not trust it to alarm the neighbors. The sensor light only comes on when it triggers the alarm unit, so it stays relatively hidden until it is too late for an intruder. There seems to be a reset period of a couple of seconds on the sensor, then it will trigger the alarm again. There isn't much an intruder can do in this period even if he (she?) finds it by the blue light. Trying to smash it will set it off again. The only thing that works easily is turning it to the wall. If you fasten it to the wall, this is somewhat challenging.

It goes off constantly don't know if it's the Sun or what. I've put in several different positions in my driveway and no matter where I put it it goes off constantly I don't understand it myself but when the Sun goes down it works just fine so I would not recommend this for outdoor use

Seems to be ok. Nothing spectacular. I have purchased from other stores for half the price but quality and longevity was an issue. We will see how this one holds up.

Performance was substandard. Sensor didn’t pick up movement until person was directly in front of it. On the positive side wind did not affect it as it does with my old units.
