These natural barn boards are a great add to any project, construction or craft. I used them to trim out my garage door for mounting support. Pine is easy to cut but durable enough for many projects. Having the rough finish was a perfect fit for my application. Every board that was packaged was straight as can be. I’ve ordered various lumber from other sellers and these were by far the straightest boards I’ve seen to date. Makes projects more enjoyable when you get good quality lumber.

The BOISE CASCADE IRVING 1 IN. X 4 IN. X 8 FT. NATURAL BARN WOOD PINE BOARDS (6-PIECES/BOX) is perfect if your looking for pallet wood that is not already in the shape of a pallet. It’s a very rough and knotty material that does not have a smooth face side. I wouldn’t consider it a good product for finished material unless you have the tools to surface it and would still have a lot of waste. The material I received would be better off used as a very rustic project or form boards.

These boards are an okay attempt to make the appearance of barn wood, but it sorely lacks the character true barn wood has. This is nothing more than a pine board planed with a light beading cutter. Even the wood quality is not that of old growth barn lumber that one might expect. I would be hard pressed to even rate the material as a number 2 grade wood. In the pictures attached I placed a common 1 x 4 next to the "barn wood" for comparison. Purchasing rough sawn pine would be much more realistic and much cheaper in cost.

The boards comes with no tongue and groove or shiplap. The edges are not planed straight. They are rough sawn on three sides. The 4th side has a beaded look to it. There are plenty of knots in the boards. There was no twists or bows in the wood. They are solid wood with a nice grain to them. This product would be great for around a fireplace chimney or accent wall. Get all three sizes and mix them together would make a nice look too.
