These aren't the same as the original
Customer review from logo
I don't understand how a company that makes such an amazing garbage disposal can make such a garbage replacement baffle. The original baffle lasted several years that came with the disposal. But when it finally became so worn, I replaced it with an insinkerator oem baffle, and had to every couple of months because they will not hold their shape. The top part of the baffle expands so much that creates huge wrinkles so the stopper can't be installed. And the spaces around the seal traps food and unless you constantly remove and clean, it can become quite foul smelling. I've gone through probably a half dozen of these and am getting ready to try an off brand replacement. These are not the same quality as the ones that come with the disposal, so hang on to the original one as long as possible, because you won't ever get another one like it to replace it

This is the only baffle that drains correctly and allows food to pass through easily. I bought this to retrofit an American Standard disposer. Fit compatibility is perfect

Smelly Odor
Customer review from logo
The rubber stopper holds food on the underside. I’m constant having to pull it out and clean it. It smells so bad. Is there another version of the rubber stopper that does not catch the food?

Changed out my rusty drain and gunked up splash guard. Big difference in appearance. This thing looks great! And note most of the 'one star' bad negative reviews are from people that bought the wrong size splash guard. Not sure how they're reviewing the product when they made the mistake of buying the wrong one. It clearly says one disposals the splash guard works on in the packaging. It does what it's supposed to. It's a sink splash guard. Nothing crazy.

Has this problem finally been fixed been fixed?

I've experienced exactly the same no-drain problem with my InSinkErator for years. Yesterday I installed the baffle shown above, and it works perfectly. I do notice there are other original-equipment parts out there with a different design and exactly the same name. Maybe the company has finally updated the part, or maybe it's just sloppy about ID'ing its baffles. The one I have is called a "Quiet Collar Sink Baffle." Its package describes the part as an "E606 Accessory" and as a "QCB-AM" (see attached scan). The baffle itself is made of thin and extremely flexible rubber (unlike the much more rigid previous baffle), and allows waste (and water) through easily, as it should.

Baffled by this baffle
Customer review from logo
The baffle that came with my disposal had some holes around the outer edge that facilitated air flow. It worked great. This replacement has no such air holes. As a result any water or food you put on it just sits there, forming a perfect seal on your drain. While one could argue that this makes it a "perfect" baffle, it's hardly a desirable feature in a sink drain. I'm baffled that anybody would think this is a product worth shipping to paying customers.

Baffle was direct replacement and fit well. Saw other reviews about fit issues but this one worked fine for me and I've had no trouble pushing the food through the center. Picture included.

Poor design
Customer review from logo
This baffle has always been a pain ever since the disposal was installed. I always have to push food down the baffle to the disposal. Supposedly it's removable to clean. I tried that once and ever since then, the baffle will not stay down. The flaps keep popping up and looking like the Eiffel tower. Which now causes even water to drain slowly down the baffle. I can push the flaps down to their normal position, but they immediately pop back up. What a piece of junk. I've actually removed the baffle and have a clear view into the disposal now. Not what I thought I was paying for.....

Hello, Treceb12 This is Jim with InSinkErator. I do apologize for the issue that you are experiencing with your baffle. I do appreciate you taking the time to post a photo of the baffle. Based on the picture that you posted, it looks like the baffle has been inserted upside down. The tower shape, pictured, should be pointing into the disposer. If you remove the baffle and turn it around, push it slowly into the opening until the grove that runs along the outer edge of the baffle falls into the lip or ridge that runs around the flange in the drain opening. I hope these steps solve the issue you are having. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our AnswerLine at 800558-5700
