I bought a set of 3 six-inch bar clamps (#3706 Medium Duty) just a couple of years ago and they haven't seen all that much use over that time. Right out of the box one of the clamps would "slip" while being tightened. I'm not talking about trying to get to the 600 pound load limit here, I referring to tightening to just "snug", and the clamp would slip. If I kept tightening then the clamp might slip again, sometimes more than once, before it would hold a decent amount of pressure. Now a second clamp is starting to show the same behavior. With that first clamp I initially thought that the problem had something to do with the the captured screw mechanism, but eventually realized that it was at the clutch/bar interface where the slipping was occurring. A closer inspection revealed that the steel bar is just way too soft and the serrations are being deformed, causing the slipping. With enough use of clamps of this design I could see that, eventually, they would wear out. But these clamps simply haven't seen enough use over the time I've owned them to even begin to approach that level of use.

The pads are split, deformed and fall off continually. Problem was present from purchase. I have same clamps by a competitor and pads are like new. Have 2 - 6" and 2 - 12". Problem is worse on fixed arm

In the gap between their unavailablity and when Pony resurrected the brand, it was a good sign that very few Jorgensen clamps were ever offered on auction sites - no one gives up a Jorgensen clamp, that's how good and useful they are. Strong, well- finished, easy to use and still the best out there.

These clamps are awesome, very strong and my favorite feature is the grip!!! It help a lot for a tight clamping!!!

I got these as a pair at Home Depot and couldn't resist the price for yet more clamps which I always seem to need. Seems great so far, and easy to manipulate.

I find they are very easy to use and easily develop the desired clamping force. I use them often in my woodworking projects. I'm very pleased with the overall quality of the product.

I have enjoyed Jorgensen steel bar clamps in my shop for many years. Now, given the lack of quality in the industry, spending money on a truly superior product makes me smile. Good finish, good performance and thoughtful design. What more can you ask for?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased 2 sets. Chose Jorgensen over the other major brand due to quality of past purchases of Pony clamps and clamping handle style. Jorgensen clamp handles are much more comfortable to my hand and I am able to apply much more pressure easily. Clamps store easily and are easy to use.

I own several of these clamps in various lengths. I have found them to be very reliable. I have had other clamps that would slip and not hold pressure. With these I have never had a problem. I would recommend them to anyone.

Bought these a few weeks ago. They make glue ups extremely easy. Also use it to hold down sheets of wood while cutting with a circular saw. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Thanks

I absolutely love these clamps. The fit and finish are great. The rubber coated handles that are standard on these clamps give you so much more leverage that the wooden handles of nearly every other brand out there. I'd choose Pony over Bessey any day!

I bought four of the small steel bar clamps and they have been the handiest little 6" clamps that I have. They hold really well for the small projects that I have done. I would recommend these clamps as they hold really well.

I bought two HD 36 inch steel bar clamps and two 12 inch steel bar clamps. I could not be more impressed and pleased with the purchases. These clamps are not your fall apart may or may not work clamps. The Jorgensen HD steel bar clamps elevated my clamping arsenal to a new level.

It’s been over 20 years, but for all the tough jobs they’ve just developed a patina.

I have 4 Jorgensen Steel Bar Clamps that are at least 40 years old, if not older. They have served me well and are still my favorite clamps. They have a bit of wear and tear on them, but they are my go-to clamps for all kinds of projects. I used one yesterday to hold a stop block on my radial arm saw fence.

I have several different brands of bar clamps on my shop wall. Anytime I’m clamping (especially when needing longer clamps), I tend to reach for my “Orange” clamps. I’ve noticed less flex then other brands with Jorgensen clamps seem to have a better quality bar.

I also knew that the new additions would be the same brand as the old reliable workhorses that have been in my shop for at least the last 15 years. They (F-style bar clamps) did not disappoint, same dependable quality, made even better with the rubber grips.

Lately they have been the steel bar clamp style, but I have several other types some new some inherited from my Father which is a testament to there durability. I like the soft grip handles, which for me allows me to grip and tighten without exerting excessive force. I also liked the pads that are available to upgrade the previous generation and the way they offer combination packs that really bring value to the product.
