[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product for over 20 years on many murals as a top coat, and for glazes and as long as you put it on quickly in one go without too many over passes, your work turns out fine. (If you use too many strokes it looks like White Elmers Glue.) The trick is to put the layers on thin and even, overlapping only where it is still wet. Let dry. Repeat in an hour or longer if you have the time. On the job site you don't have that time! On the other hand, If you are going for a layered look with a deep forest, trees in front of trees, or an ocean with fish and coral in front of other fish a little paint and KILZ KLEAR mixed well is just the trick. It gives the appearance that objects are further in the distance simply by brushing 2 or 3 layers over them. With each coat they get a little hazier / and more muted each time.

Overall, easy to use. Water base, low odor and so far has covered my wood wall very good. It would be nice in half gallons.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently painted a bedroom in my house that was pained 20 years ago with a dark color on the walls. 1 coat of KILZ did the job! Covered all the old paint so the new color could be added. It works so well on ceilings that there is no need to paint over the KILZ!

Works as advertised

I have been repairing a water damaged exterior door. I needed a primer that would seal the soft filler between the replacement sheeting and the old sheeting. Klear did the job of sealing all of the door, and the new paint went on easily and didn't soak into the wood. It looks pinkish in the paint can and goes on a little pink so that you can see where you just applied it, but becomes clear in a few seconds and dries clear. I have another exterior door that is getting splashed. When the rains stop, I am going to give it a coat of Klear to help protect it.

I am repairing a exterior door that was severely water damaged. When I got the new sheeting on, I wanted something that would seal the wood against the rain water that splashes up and soaks the door. It has a pinkish cast in the paint can and goes on just a touch pink for a few seconds so you can see where you are painting, then becomes clear and dries clear. The final paint went on just as if there was nothing there, except it didn't soak in like some paints will do without a primer. I have another door that takes a lot of splashing and, when the rains quit, I am going to put a coat of Klear on it and no one but me will know that it's there. I have used the water based Kilz (white interior) and the oil based (I don't like using oil based paints), and this Klear (interior or exterior use) is just as high a quality.

Frist time I've used a clear water based primer. Loved It.

Worked better than expected! Went on beautiful as it’s a little more thin than I thought but the finish product and overall performance exceeded that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried some and I liked it but ultimately couldn’t find it to use so I used clear BIN instead. Clear products work great.

I had wallpaper in my kitchen and in the process of removing it, the drywall got torn. We started to prime and noticed the primer was bubbling. Did a little research and found Kilz Klear would prevent that from happening. We put a coat of that on and it worked perfectly. It goes on quickly as it’s quite thin. The gallon should last a long time. I will use it any time I need to make sure something porous is sealed before painting.

Easy to use easy to apply and does exactly as advertised

This goes on with.a very thin coat. One can goes a long way. I really like putting it on new drywall or drywall with a lot of repairs before painting.

Really didn't know what to expect but, I used other Kilz products in the past and thought I would give it a try, great product will definitely purchase it again when needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to revamp a small chest of drawers. The grain needed to be less obvious. This product, two coats, made the wood tone show through without being so obvious.

The product covered over wallpaper very well and made surface adhere to the primer and paint better. Worth the cost to not have to fully remove all the wallpaper

Not good at all. Worst primer ever. All water inside . I highly suggest please don’t buy it ever
