My project was to paint an old wood grain formica kitchen table top. After an extensive search of the internet I found few recommendations for a quality primer that would reliably work well on such a smooth surface like formica. That is, until I happened to come across an article that mentioned using Kilz adhesion bonding primer on smooth surfaces. So I decided to give this product a shot. Surface preparation: Other that a thorough cleaning, I applied the primer directly to the table top without any sanding of the formica. Application: I used a foam roller to apply the primer. I was pleased that there were no roller marks after drying. Coverage: The primer spread easily and covered the formica well. The top coat, also applied with a foam roller, was an oil based semi-gloss enamel that went on easily over the primer. The finish is smooth and looks good. Time will tell how well the paint and primer hold up to daily use of the table. Overall, the primer met my expectations and I would purchase this product again.

I used this to paint over an ugly colored purple MARBLE fireplace mantel. it went on very easily and smooth. I frankly did not think it would stick to a nonporous marble surface. It dried to the touch within 1 hour. The KEY is to wait 24 hours for it to really bond to the surface. After 24 hours it will really stick and will not easily scratch off. I put 2 coats of primer on and then a finish coat of regular paint. It worked great. You can't see the ugly purple marble underneath.

We had to paint our brand new Anderson storm door to match our front door per HOA regulations. When we first painted it the paint just peeled off instantly. The KILZ adhesion primer was exactly what we needed. It went on smooth and easy and the paint adhered perfectly. Great product, a little pricey but totally worth it when needed.

Pros Very Adhesive, Even Application, Easy to Apply, Easy to Use, Dries Quickly Cons difficult to get off your clothes, a little pricey

I am a novice painter and didn't know that you couldn't paint a water based latex over an oil based enamel. After about 3 years my paint started peeling. I read about this product on some painting blogs and decided to try it. I prepared my surfaces as instructed and this product was amazing. Easy to use, no strong odor and covered wonderfully.

Pros Even Application, Easy to Apply, Easy Instructions, Good Coverage, Easy to Clean, Easy to Use, Dries Quickly

I was painting kitchen cabinets and the crown molding was a synthetic material that would not take traditional primer. Thanks to previous reviews, I discovered this product.

This was worth every penny and the wait for it, as the store did not carry it and I had to order it. I had to repaint my bathroom cabinets, as I did not prep well enough the first time, and also decided to repaint my vanity that I had purchased at another store. The Kilz went on so smooth and the paint has adhered tremendously to surfaces that I probably could have prepped better. I am a DIY, so not a professional. I will use this for every painting project I do! It looks as good as the high dollar Rust-Oleum kit I used on another bathroom vanity!
