ALERT ALL! I love Kohler and their customer support; however, this one DOES NOT COME WITH SLOW CLOSE SEAT. SHOCKING! I have 2 Kohler Highlines now. The first one came with a slow close. Apparently, according to Kohler, Home Depot has asked them not to pack them with slow close seats any longer. Also, I have already had to have my first one reset cause bolts came lose after 2 years. So, be sure to have it installed correctly cause very expensive to reset. Also, after 2 years only, had to replace one of the rings on the flusher. I still love them. My new one was just installed, so hope it will go well. I got a slow close, quick release, Kohler Cachet seat, and it works perfectly. Buy one when you get the commode or ask Home Depot to maybe swap out the seats before you take out of the store. The Thompson Lane Home Depot store manager was wonderful in helping me with the seat. Make sure you know the water 1.2 or 1.6. I have both and hope the 1.2 works as well. I did not notice which I had picked. So far, flush great (loud).Also, thanks to my new Morton Plumbing in Nashville, who are great, I learned the 2 flushes option are important to know, so learn about that in case need. OH, and BUY A NEW PLUNGER; THE BEHIVE SHAPE!

DO NOT BUY THIS TOILET!! I have had issues with it leaking and constantly refilling since I bought it in November. When I flush it, the tank will refill, but the water level gradually recedes until it hits a little below halfway down the canister. Then the water will start to run until the tank is refilled and then the whole process starts again. The toilet will start to refill approximately every 6 min. When I first had the toilet installed, we noticed this issue and I called Kohler customer service. They said the seal might need to be replaced since they were in the process of replacing all of the original red seals with yellow ones so they sent me a replacement yellow seal. It arrived quickly but after we replaced the seal with the yellow one, the issue was still happening. Once again, I contacted customer service and this time, after they had me do a water test, they sent me a replacement flush valve. Once again, I had my contractor come back to install the replacement flush valve and the toilet is STILL slowly leaking and refilling. I’m so fed up and honestly do not know what to do from here. A completely new toilet should NOT have this issue. I expected a lot more from a Kohler product!

I bought this toilet at Home Depot (HD), and was installed by an HD recommended plumber in Dec 2017. A month later, the toilet does not refill the water after flushing. Disappointed with this product and brand.

I looked at many toilets. It was almost impossible to find one that is Made in the USA. Well, the Kohler Highline Classic is and that was a huge factor. It's also a well styled, well made toilet. I purchased two of them. I remodel houses and will continue to use this model. Thank you for offering a quality, Made in the USA option.

This is the 3rd toilet of this model that we have purchased. We love the "easy on the knees" chair height and the perfectly flushing, low water use of this toilet. However, for some reason, this new one wants to leak around the base. We have tried a couple of different sizes of wax rings, but to no avail. We have given up and have called a plumber. Don't know if there is some kind of manufacturers defect or if there is something unusual about this installation location that is making this a difficult install.

I purchased this toilet when I broke the tank cover on my old toilet. My neighbor was going to install it as a Christmas present. However, he was unable to do so do to unrelated problems. The flange from the old toilet was broken and the shut off valve to the house would not stop the water to install a new shut off. I called a plumber and installation seemed easy and quick. The toilet works great. 1.28 gal flush but plenty of power. It is not noisy. Seems very good to me. The seat is not a slow close but is comfortable. It appears well made and the comfort height and elongated was a good choice for me.

2 out of the 2 toilets I bought are not flushing properly. The side-hole design leaves the center front of the bowl a blind spot. That means if you drop something in the center front, it can never be reached and flushed down....Basically I have to clean up the stain everyday. Called Kohler and the technician said this is their design, it never tries to clean the front. Seriously? A well-known brand but a very disappointing product.

I would recommend it to all and the sale price was a real benefit. Long story short , kohler's toilet s**ks , kohler's customer support s**ks too.
I purchased 3 toilets from homedepo for bathroom remodeling recently.
2 of these toilets , one of american standards.
So one of these kohlers started leaking in less than one week after installation , only one , the other is working fine.
Then i sent an email to their customer support to see what they could help , they just send me a video link teaching how to flush the fill valve / seal , that did help , the toilet stopped leaking after that.But another problem comes up , the fill valve is noisy when filling water , and looks like I have to buy this fill valve by myself to replace it to fix this problem , because it works some how , just very noisy.
Well , for a new toilet from a famous brand, I really can not accept this result , i wish i could take it off and return to homedepo.
One thing I really don't like their CS is , they replied email very slowly , always took a few days to response , I am wondering they outsourced email support to india or something.
To my supprise , although price different , kohler is worse than american standards , no matter build quality or design.
And To all the people thinking about buying kohlers toilet , I wish you good luck , because you really need it.
I won't buy kohler's product anymore anyway.

This is our third Kohler toilet replacing three older gallon Hogs in our home. I actually put this one in myself! Had to go online and look at the install video but everything seems to have been okay. So far so good! Would have given this five stars except the toilet seat is not a quiet closing seat and there's no option to exchange that one and pay the difference for a slow closing seat.

After having to deal with an aging toilet that wouldn't flush without being plunged this Kohler toilet is a great relief. It flushes consistently and quietly with no problem. It is higher than a regular toilet. My wife who is 5'2" is tiptoeing a little while sitting on it.

I did not use the supplied wax ring but purchased a non wax one which made installation a breeze. I did not care for the third bolt in the back center for the water tank. Because of the shape of the base, it was hard to get a tool on the nut. My float assembly was messed up so it could be adjusted, called customer service and they sent me a new one. Flushes everything I have given it with ease. Only regret is not getting one with a self closing seat.

I purchased this toilet 2-8-17 and it was incredibly easy to install and the design is great. However, most of the time the float assembly wouldn't drop to fill the tank after flushing. This would always happen in the middle of the night or with visitors. Customer service said it is because of minerals clogging the valve and to pop off the red cap on the valve and flush it out. That didn't help, and they didn't offer to send me a new valve assembly. I then tried tightening up the chain and even tried spraying the canister stem with wd-40 and cooking oil to help it drop, neither of which worked. Finally after the frustration of using the toilet without the lid for months in order to manually push the float valve down, I fashioned a long piece of wire out of bread twist ties and looped it loosely around the water adjustment screw and onto the chain. It works perfectly for now. Because of the months of frustration trying to make this expensive toilet work, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Overall the toilet was easy to install. Came well packed. The quietness of the flushing system is great. Two different flush system to conserve water is great. Wish it would of came with a self closing lid. We have had it for a couple of months and so far is working out great. No complaints as of now. Our other toilet is also a Kohler and we have never had an issue with it. So we decided to replace the other bathroom to a higher seated toilet from Kohler. As I stated below, the flush system is nice and quiet, thinking of changing to the same flush system in the old Kohler toilet.

Great product for the money. I've switched to Kohler from Toto now that they have the aqua piston integrated with most (all?) of their units. Have bought a few different different models now, both one piece and two piece and haven't had any issues. Believe me, the family where this was installed is really giving it a run for the money as well.
Simple lines here, nothing fancy but is built solid. Unbelievable that you can purchase for under $200 let alone $150. Installation was very easy and packaging was great - no chips or cracks. The only downside on this one that I've noticed thus far is that the bowl tends to get stick marks from solids more than other models out there. Most likely has to do with hydraulic engineering of this bowl design but would recommend a brush nearby.
Requirement = cheap, durable, functional. Nothing fancy needed as it went in an unfinished basement. This unit met all requirements with flying colors.
