  • Covered with Spider Cracks after 5 years
  • February 20, 2012

I purchased this exact same sink at Home Depot in 2007. It started showing unsightly spider cracks in the basin and around the sides about 2 years ago. Now, it just looks aweful. I called Kohler, and they said that there was nothing they could do because it only has a one year warranty. They also said that I could have caused the cracks, but they are in some areas where I know nothing could have ever been dropped. We use Kohler recommended cleaner. I wish we would have kept our 50 year old sink that this replaced. If you plan to keep this sink for more than a few years, DO NOT BUY IT! Based on this product and the poor customer service from Kohler, I will never buy another Kohler product.

  • Cracks in basin
  • March 28, 2013

Less than a year after this sink was installed cracks began appearing in the sink basin. The cracks have increased over time and the sink needs replacing. I wrote to Kohler customer care and am awaiting a response. We moved in to the new house in Dec. 08., and that is when we began to use the sink. All 4 bathrooms are exclusively Kohler, sinks, tubs and toilets - no problems with any other products. In our case this problem relates specifically to the Memoirs pedestal sink tops. Don't purchase this sink unless you are prepared to replace it yearly. Poor quality control and manufacturing on this item. If Kohler responds with a replacement, great, if not, we will use American Standard for all future bathroom needs.

  • Wish Kohler would stand behind thier products
  • August 10, 2014

I purchased this sink to replace the exact same model that I bought 7 years earlier due to small cracks in the finish all over the sink. I tried to get Kohler to replace, but they would not because it is out of warranty. The original sink in the bathroom was 70 years old without any issues with the finish... I expected to get more than 7 years out of this one Kohler tried to tell me that I must have damaged the sink surface, but the cracks were also in areas (like underneath) where nothing could have impacted it. Obviously there was a quality issue with the finish. So I really wanted to replace with a similar American Standard product, but it did not work with the bathroom. I did not see the cracking issue in other reviews, so I am hoping this one will last more than 7 years.

  • Cracks everywhere
  • April 21, 2014

I loved this sink for the size. But after a few years it started to get hairline cracks all over the bowl. I removed a 80 year old porcelain pedestal sink and put it in my basement bathroom because it was still in great condition.. It is now in better condition than my Kohler sink. When I called Kohler to use the lifetime warranty that is on the paperwork and on line they told me it was only a year warranty. I will NEVER buy a KOHLER product again. They are JUNK! They know this product is a problem and still won't do anything to correct it.

  • Good Looking at first but now Cracking Badly
  • March 29, 2012

I loved the way this sink looks. But, after 5 years, the bottom and faucet side are starting to show a lot of fine cracks. It's unsightly, but hasn't affected utility yet. I wish Kohler would admit there's a problem since a lot of people have reported a similar issue. Sinks should last longer than 5 years.

  • Crazing problems
  • April 01, 2012

Like others, I have had problems with the glaze crazing. This started about a year after installation. At first I thought it might have been scratches, but they kept growing. It now looks pretty bad. I do not recommend this sink, even though it was attractive when it was first installed.

  • DO NOT PURCHASE KOHLER! Manufacturer Defect Cracking and Crazing in Glaze
  • March 10, 2015

I used to be a Kohler fan! Like others, I found the style of this product aesthetically pleasing, however the cracking and crazing in the glaze is obviously a manufacturer defect and it is growing over time! I am considering "re-glazing" versus purchasing a replacement....Problem is that I had slate stone custom installed around the base of the pedestal.... DO NOT PURCHASE KOHLER! The do not stand behind their product blaming the customer for this manufacturer defect!!! BTW, I do love Home Depot, just not Kohler...

Beautiful sink until the cracking began, now it looks dirty and must be replaced...perfectly good pedestal too bad it all has to go. Not worth replacing if Kholer isn't standing behind an obvious manufacturing defect.

Pros Sleek, Looks Great, Stylish, Easy to Clean, Good Use of Space Cons Quality, cracking

Defective product line? Like many other owners of this fine looking sink, ours developed spider cracks around the 3 upper drain holes. Terribly disappointing and Kohler has not interest in hearing about it or replacing it unless it is within the tiny one year warranty. They should replace the sinks for everyone that has experienced this problem, no matter how long we have owned the sink, because this is a product defect. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would get their attention?

  • Do not buy
  • November 30, 2015

Our Kohler Memoir sink had a small but long crack from the left corner down into the sink. I noticed this one week after the year warranty. Kohker asked me to send a picture, they ended up telling me that was not their fault. We've not stood on the sink, never danced on it. I only had a small candle in the upper left corner.
