Great suction.
Mainly used for dry clean up and this vacuum has great suction. I use in a commercial shop because it is small and so far have not been disappointed. It has inhaled metal filings from both our lathe and milling machine without issue. It is rated as a "home owner" use only, but I can't find anything small enough that functions as good as this unit. I will never again buy the $50 shop vac.... waste of time. After a very dusty area was vacuumed, I did experience a slight drop in suction. Seems like that should be normal. I imagine sawdust would do the same. Upon inspection, the internal filter bag was full and the secondary main filter had only a small sign of dust trappings. I tried emptying and washing the internal filter bag to see if can be done, and yes it can. But...... The bag does not have a large zipper exit to remove the waste. The waste has to be removed back out the 2 inch hole that it went in, but I still wanted to attempt it to see. Because the bag is such a good filter for trapping dust, washing the bag was not as easy as I thought. Tons of dirt kept coming out and it took quite a while. If dust or hair is your main item to clean then I'd recommend buying multiple filter bags and chuck the full one. If the vacuum is inhaling larger items, like small chips or solids, then you can easily empty the bag and probably wash it. After washing the internal bag, full suction was restored. Simply put, this vacuum works as I had hoped. Cleaning the bag is not a deal breaker at all for me - I just wanted to experiment to see if it can be done.

We never seem to have just a simple shower, we get downpours and living at the foot of a hill, that means a wet basement. Hubby is always on the road working and I am the one stuck with the water fight. This is just what i needed ! Easy to move with the wheels , great suction , and so easy to operate and maneuver. We have had several different brands in the past but this time went with the same as our power washer and just like it, it is the best !

      This combo vacuum is fantastic!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After receiving the Karcher WD 5 Wet/Dry vacuum I went right to work using it. Two days prior I had spilled gasoline from a gas can almost all over the trunk carpeting. I tried everything from vinegar to baking soda. It wasn't until I brought the wet vacuum outside and started vacuuming it. It not only picked up the now watered down gasoline but the scent almost completely went away too! I also used it to blow the leaves away from my basement stairs & it was definitely more powerful than expected. It's pretty lightweight, even for a female like myself, the suction is very strong , & powerful and overall it's a great vacuum that is sturdy.

        Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The suction on this Vac is great. I do recommend using a bag as the filter gets clogged easily with the dust and I found the filter cleaning feature didn't really live up to the write up. I like that it's small enough that it's easy to carry around even when full. It seems well constructed.

          Karcher wet/dry vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with the Karcher wet/vacuum. It's very while made. It has 5 wheels so it's very easy to move around. It has so many great features and it not as luod as most wet/dry vacuums. My favorite feature is that it can be used as a leaf blower. It has a onboard outlet adapter so you can plug-in your power tools. I'm a single mother of two boys and we do a lot of home improvements ourselves. The Karcher wet/dry vacuum will get a lot use in my home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using a wet/dry vacuum, so I was excited to try it. It was very easy to assemble and use. The vacuum has a blower function that's good at getting rid of dirt and debris. The vacuum can also be used on the carpet, and is also great at getting up water and spills. Overall, I really like using the vacuum it makes hard tasks much easier. I received this product free for my honest opinion.

              Vacuum Of My Dreams
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kärcher WD 5 P vacuum cleaner is everything I want in a vacuum. It is high quality, excellent durability, versatile and easy to use. The only thing I would change is the flat top attachment I like the bristles, but it needs to a smooth edge attachment. Would be easier to use on carpeting. The adjustable suction function helps, but it would be nice to have an opt out for the bristles on that attachment.

                    Best Shop Vac Ever!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Karcher WD 5 P Shop Vac for free to try in return for my honest feedback. I was blown away by how great this shop vac works! It is made so all of the attachments can be directly attached to the shop vac so they are always there when you need them. It even has a function for filter cleaning. It has 1800w power, a 6.6 gallon container capacity, and it comes with a 2 year warranty. It has a blower function, and even a power outlet with an auto on/off feature on the shop vac itself. They weren't lying when they said it has powerful suction for maximum cleaning performance. The suction on this shop vac is amazing. I found dirt in places I didn't know dirt could be! Because the suction is so strong, you have to be careful you don't pick up something you weren't intending to. Even though, you could just open the easily accessible container. I haven't had a chance to use the wet function as much as the dry, only once. It did just as well as the dry suction though! I couldn't have been more impressed with this Karcher Shop Vac. I am so excited to tell all my friends and family about it!

The adjustable vacuum power is very helpful when cleaning up my shop. The smaller footprint facilitates movement around the shop. The primary problem I have with the unit is that the blower connection to the hose comes loose every time I try to use it. A basis for return or replacement.

                      Great vacuum for my shop
Replaced my previous vac which cost about double the WD 5 P which I originally bought because of the brand name and quiet operation. This machine is a bit louder but not much, and seems to have far more suction power. The 5 wheel base, ease of use and access to controls, and speed control (handy for hand sanders), are all well thought out features. Not so good: Karcher website is clunky and not informative. I want to buy more of the rubber step down hose attachments. Cannot find them via Woodcraft where I bought the machine, cannot find anything about these on the Karcher website. Looks like they provide one with the vacuum and that's it. Most shops have many more than one electric hand tool and all typically have a variety of size exhaust openings.

I purchased the unit for it’s plug in auto start feature to be used for dust collection on my Festool sander & Domino Joiner. The unit allows a plug in tool to draw up to 8 amps, so it’s probably unsafe to use with an 11 amp router. The suction is adequate for this purpose.

                        Excellent Wet/Dry Vac
This wet/dry vacuum not only is a very good looking product, but it is very functional. The fact that you can adjust the suction or blowing capacities is only the beginning of what it can do. The suction is excellent picking up almost everything in its path. The fact that it has a number of accessories makes it even better. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a garage or work space that needs cleaning.

Wet/Dry vacuums have come a long way
I have, no had, a wet/dry vacuum. It was bulky, hard to maneuver, the hose was always pulling me around, and the floor attachment was always sucking itself to the floor - unmovable. None of that applies to this wet/dry vacuum. The floor attachment cleans the floor as if it were a carpet vacuum - run over the floor without sucking itself to the floor. The hose is easily maneuvered. It rolls with ease over cement or carpet. The wands and attachments have their parking spots and come along with you as you do your cleaning - no falling off to be picked up later. Even the electric cord has a spot to be parked when you're done and stays there. It also blows - not that it would replace a leaf blower, but it will ruffle wet leaves. Now the best of all is that it has adjustable suction power - max for the heavy stuff and Min for the delicate stuff. Cobwebs on a popcorn ceiling would be a delicate item.

                        Ton of power!
The first thing that jumped out at me is the suction power this thing has! I had it on the lowest setting and thought it was good before I realized it could go a whole lot higher! As an example, I couldn't use it above about 50% power when I vacuumed my car because it pulled the floor mats right off the floor. Some of the nice features are the multi-directional wheels which makes it super easy to move around, the sturdy handle to lift what is an incredibly light vacuum when it is empty, long hose, and finally adapters that slide right on and off - not complicated buttons to squeeze when removing one adapter and trying to align when putting on another. I left off one point for "features" because I do wish it came with another adapter or two - a small bristle type would have been great. I should mention this also has the ability to hook up tools (think sander) to vacuum the sawdust as you work - but I have not had the opportunity to use that feature yet.

                        works great
I have never had one of these and always wanted one. My neighbor's hot water heater leaked and she knew I had received this and asked to borrow it. It saved her floor, very important to have one of these for situations as this one. I use a regular vacuum for my house and it works fine. But for major jobs, this wet/dry vac is definitely a must have for any household.

                        Quieter than other shop vacs
I got this shop vac to not only clean up around my basement (sawdust mostly) but also to vacuum up water that comes up through a spot on the basement floor when we get heavy rain. Out of the box, it was really easy to assemble. It comes with the necessary filters so you don't need to buy those separately. There is a bag filter that goes inside the vac and then another filter that's in the back (flat fold filter) - similar to a lawn mower filter. The flat fold filter is pre-installed but the bag one has to be installed - easy to do. The bag filter really catches sawdust and dirt well. I didn't see anything inside that area that leaked or spilled out. I like the handle but wish it was a little bit taller so you could grip it a little better when carrying it. Watch your fingers when sliding it back to unlock it and dump the contents out. I jammed my fingers between that and the unit while doing so. This vac is much quieter than the other vac I have and has much more power and features. I use my shop vac a lot since I do a lot of woodworking, so it's nice to have a quieter vac. Plus, the suction is adjustable. That's a great feature because there are times when I'm cleaning around my saws and don't want to suck up everything off the table with it, so to be able to adjust that is great. The motor is 1800 watts. You need to remove the filter bag when sucking up water. Cleaning up water is done quickly and it's easy to empty. I also like the blower option so I can blow sawdust and debris off my work before moving on to paint. I don't use the machine socket because it is only 6amps so I cannot speak to this this feature. The vac is pretty lightweight - without the accessories it's about 19 lbs. when empty. It's easy to maneuver around. There are 5 wheels on the bottom that are easily installed. Overall, this is a great shop vac. The best one I've ever owned.

                        HANDY WET/DRY VAC
This is a great vacuum for the garage or the shop. It works well cleaning the inside of the car too. Designed in Germany, made in Italy. Great suction, which is actually adjustable depending on what you are doing. The wheels make it very portable when cleaning floors as it follows you around effortlessly. There is a place for accessory tool storage so you don't have to store them in a separate location. You can plug a power tool into the unit so that you can collect sawdust or whatever while you are working. The only concern that I have on that is that it is only rated for 6 amps and some of my tools have a higher rating than 6 amps. There is a filter that is easy to clean built into the unit and there is an automatic filter cleaner when it gets dirty (haven't used that yet). For dry cleaning, there is a bag to minimize the dust collected by the vacuum, but you must buy replacements when it gets full. You don't use the bag when using this to suck up water, although I haven't used it to clean up water yet. The instruction manual could have been written better. But, all in all, a very powerful, reasonably priced vacuum.

                        Wow, what a vacuum!
This is a serious wet/dry vacuum. The primary filter is a pleated paper filter. As I understand it, the regular bag filter is optional and to be used in the dry mode (only) with "dirt". So no bags to change in regular use. This vacuum is also a blower. It has a strong motor so it works good either way. It has an attachment for attaching to a power tool and a outlet to plug the power tool into. The manual mentions using a 14 ga min extension cord, if one is necessary. I would recommend a 12 ga extension cord, especially with a power tool plugged in. It has a tool caddy that nicely holds all attachments. The floor tool has a toggle-able rubber feature, like a squeezee, that works nicely. It has five casters, so very stable. The paper filter is easy to check/change. The top carry handle is also the lock for the motor to the base so very simple to open. It is a very robust vacuum/blower that does a great job, wet or dry.
