The Kidde 2 Story Escape Ladder is a great safety item to add to any two-story home. The ladder easily locks onto a window and the velcro release lets the steps down. It's fast and efficient and that's exactly what you want in case of emergency. The ladders are very sturdy feeling and fold back up fairly easy. Thank God I haven't had to use mine yet.

We have 2 kids and want to practice fire drills so the kids are comfortable using the ladder. However, this ladder is a SINGLE-USE product which means you should only use it for emergencies and you cannot practice with it.

Our window has a very small wood ledge that is pretty normal. But this ladder will NOT hang over the window sill securely. Unless you have the most bare, basic window set into a wall (with no ledge) this ladder is not a good fit. Our window ledge adds only about 1" to the width of the wall, but the white hook you see in the picture will not work to hang the ladder from it. This seems like a very strange design.

Our bedroom is on second floor and I felt we needed to practice this thing so my granddaughters would know wht to do.....so of course we opened it to practice. It took us 30 minutes to figure it out and get it untangled and out the window......good thing we practiced. Then we saw the instructions that said ."Single use only" "You need to practice". The girls did not actually go out the window, but did climb from the bottom to see if we had it hooked onto the window sill correctly. It did hold...... It says KIDDIE, BUT ALSO SAYS IT WILL HOLD 500 LBS....Whats up with that? So now we return it to the store as defective and buy another one ......and label this one defective so they won't resell it....I really don't see why we couldn't use it again...It seems stable....but I will go get another one......Now that I think of it....this one had been returned to store after someone used it....

An ignorant survey as the only time I will need is in an emergency and that hasn't happened anymore then I want that emergency to occur.

Very easy to use works perfect for our two story home, we did buy the longer one to cover the roof length for my daughters room which has the two dog house windows. She is 11 and can use the easily. For me I’m bigger so it is smaller to me. Wish it had a spacer for down the wall so you have room for your toes, to prevent slipping. I hope we never have to use them but the peace of mind is worth every penny!!

Great fire escape ladder. This is the 3rd one that h in be purchased. I buy them as gifts for my family new homeowners. The ladder Is lightweight enough for one person to carry up stairs. I love that there is no rope or material to catch fire. The entire ladder is durable metal with a wide hood to go over most wide window seals. I highly recommend this ladder

Looks okay but it’s a one use product so you cannot even see if the steps are adequate also you have to be able to step out of window face. Down

Glad these were in stock at our local store. On one side of our house, there is no roof edge, chimney ledge, etc. to climb down in case of a fire so these ladders give peace of mind.

I can't give a rating as this item is to be used for emergencies and luckily I have not had to use.

Love it for Emergency incase God Forbid one occurs.
