  • Actual Exposure...It Works!
  • December 04, 2014

I bought this unit 8 months ago after a potentially deadly exposure in our six unit apartment building. A few of our previous CO detectors in several of the apartments gave the dead battery signal instead of an alarm so no one was alerted. We ended up being evacuated by the fire department in the middle of the night and one person going to the hospital! I did a good deal of research, bought this unit and have felt much safer. Just last week we had another brief exposure as our gas water heater had a leak in the flue. There was not enough CO to set off the alarm, but the detector window showed 13 ppm, less than the 30 ppm to set off the alarm, but the fact that the detector worked as advertised, even if 13 ppm is not dangerous, is still very reassuring to me. I have recommended this product to all of my friends and family. The sealed 10 year battery is a real plus. I have it mounted at eye level in my kitchen, which is nearest to the boiler room and the enclosed garages. I can check and test it often and easily.

  • Very Nice Monitor

A very impressive CO monitor. I like the digital display because you can actually see the concentration of CO in the atmosphere on the display. The 10 year battery is a great feature and ensures that your home is always being monitored for dangerous levels of CO. Installing is a breeze. Mark the hole in the wall with the base as a template drill and fasten with supplied anchors. When you slide the monitor onto the base it actuates a small switch and cuts on automatically. This is a well thought out feature that prevents it from accidently being turned off. If you have gas heat, water heater or appliances you won't find a nicer monitor to protect you and your family.

  • You won't find a simpler way to protect your family!

I've been a firefighter for 25+ years. For all the hazards of CO, and considering how easy it is to protect yourself and your family, it's stunning how many people still don't have at least one detector in the home. This literally went up in minutes. I already have central smoke/CO detectors in the house but wanted one with a display to show any developing problem that might be indicated before the other alarms sound.

  • An outstanding CO alarm

To date this has been an excellent CO Alarm. The digital display provides a clear visual indicator of any CO even if it is below the alarm threshold. I glance at the display everytime I walk by to insure the detector is still reading zero. Also, not having to worry about battery changes for ten years is a real plus. The directions are easy to follow and the CO alarm was up and running within minutes of unpacking.

my old old a/c plugin unit finally gave me an END signal , to buy a new one .. since i also have wired in hall ceiling units,, i always had one in the bedroom ,, ha worse place to get overcome ... so seeing this 2 pack was a no brainer for me to now not just put them where ever ,, like the bedroom and family room .. is so much more comforting to have more than one .. i also prefer to have the digital readout to know the level of CM where my ceiling units don't have ,, if this gas can kill you ,, i consider these things as cost is not an issue and definitely prefer more than one to rely on . .. Here's a tip for everyone ,, i use marker to write expire date on it ,, so you don't have to take it apart .. my unit was manufactured may 2018 , purchased april 2019 to last me to at least arpil 2029

Accurate, easy to use and understand. I am a volunteer firefighter and have seen several brands in homes on CO alarm calls. Kidde products seem to be more accurate, compared to our detectors, last longer, and have least amount of problems.

I like the fact that this CO alarm has its own battery rather than having to plug the device in and only use the batteries in the event of a power outage.
