LOOKS GREAT BUT it fees like we purchased a LEMON
Customer review from logo
My wife fell in love with this refrigerator as soon as she saw it. The sleek/masculine design was perfect for our kitchen. Unfortunately the exterior potion of the refrigerator masked the many problems that we’ve had with this unit. The ice maker doesn’t work, the freezer doesn’t freeze anymore and the suction on the doors is less than optimal. This is clearly the most money we’ve invested in a refrigerator and it’s very disturbing that we’ve had so many issues with such a great looking product. Hopefully the next version will fix all of the current issues. Will Kitchen Aid will stand behind their product?

Just got delivered and it is BROKEN!
Customer review from logo
We have been waiting for this fridge since October 28th. It was on back order. It is now December 22nd. We were so excited to get it and the company we bought it from took our old refrigerator upon delivery. As my husband and I were setting it up, we noticed that a tab at the back of the fridge that holds up the large shelf is dented into the fridge making the shelf tipsy. The other tab at the back of the fridge is also damaged. This is totally unacceptable. We are having 15 people for Christmas dinner in 3 days and we have a new fridge that has a faulty shelf. Because of the time of year we now have to use this fridge until the store can deliver a new one AFTER CHRISTMAS. This fridge is not cheap. We expected better from KitchenAid. I am beyond disappointed in the workmanship of this fridge.

Worst refrigerator ever!!!
Customer review from logo
I was 100% sold on this refrigerator. The looks of the unit are gorgeous. The drawer configuration and in door ice maker provided space and convenience. After less than a year the fridge has started falling apart. First we started noticing some loud noises. The first to go was the ice maker. The next issue was the water no lonher worked. So I called Metro appliance where I purchased the unit. They let me know that my extended warranty was being handled by safeware. Safeware milled the work out to atech. Atech has made 4 trips replacing parts. No diagnosis of the refrigerator....just replacing parts. The unit is now worse than ever. Water is leaking and ruining our hardwood. The lights have nownstopped woking. Pass if younsee this unit!

Rusting very fast
Customer review from logo
Not the pretty (and delicate: yes it dents easily) stainless exterior panels, but the ice maker is rusting. KA knows that the ice maker delivery auger leaks as they provided a weep hole on the bottom of the ice maker door. Auger/motor resides just beneath the ice bucket. My unit delivers heavily rusted water and deposits this on the interior white shelf staining it: yes that's right, wiping it up leaves a rust stain behind. And occasionally opening the door will spew the rusty water onto my tile floor staining it too - one doesn't always notice when the rust flies so it has time to sit and dry on my tiles. Also dribbles down the deli drawer and the freezer drawer. I guess the auger motor shaft or something should've been made in stainless too! Or properly engineered and tested with washers and gaskets to prevent melting ice from getting out of the ice bucket. See attached pictures. But to the root cause, water is dripping from the ice maker through the auger motor? Ice is melting! This tells me the ice bucket is poorly insulated from the exterior and the interior ~36F refrigerator compartment. Maybe mounting an ice bucket in a "warm" refrigerator isn't a good idea...can you say "freezer" instead? Or maybe it should've been properly engineered and tested. How many years has KA been making door mounted ice makers? This feature should be called a "melted ice maker". If not used in a day or two, the ice cubes form one huge brick that the auger can't turn through, nor can a hand reach in and easily break it up: ice bucket has to be pulled out and put in sink to melt it all out and dry it. Near useless and high maintenance. Looking down the road, all this rust means this auger motor is corroding away and will be junk and inoperative soon. My only weapon is to keep re-upping my expensive warranty. Next time the repair guy is here I'll have him quote an auger motor swap (they've been here 4 times in 1 year). Another issue is the ice melts and dribbles through the delivery chute (no rust) onto the small delivery shelf and collects there: opening the door flies this water onto the floor and other appliances. My older fridge had a small water collector that could be slid in and out for cleaning (like the cup holder area on a K-cup brewer). Easy solution. Or properly engineer the delivery chute such that heat doesn't travel up and melt the ice! KA needs to have staff bring these reefers home and actually use them. There is no excuse for this weak engineering and design. They don't want to spend the money and clearly don't care. The only thing they'll pay attention to is high warranty expenses coming in from the repair shops. So don't live with any issues with your appliances: call and have it fixed under warranty.
