[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kitchen aid ice maker is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. The high volume of ice production supports large gatherings and a continuous supply of daily ice. Great to have in Florida with the high heat and humidity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine to replace my older (2007) KitchenAid 18" automatic ice maker. Upon delivery of the appliance, I noticed the packaging was rather beat up so I gave the appliance a good look over and only found a minor dent to casing that would be hidden in the cabinet, so I decided to keep it since supply of these is very low right now. However, I did notice that the front door quality was not nearly equal to my old machine. The upper outer corners of the door are unfinished and very sharp and also the handle looked like something that belonged on a roll around tool chest. Fortunately, the old door was easily swapped on to the new machine with finished corners and a much nicer handle that matches all of my other KitchenAid appliances. I also had to swap the door liner from the new door to the old door due to a magnet that is embedded in the liner that activates the internal light as well as the "Door Open" alarm. Also due to the rough handling of the machine during shipment, I noticed the pump on the bottom of the water tray had popped out (see attached picture). It was easy enough to reinstall. The rest of the components of the machine appear to be in good condition. Otherwise, once plugged in, the machine is working great so far.

We've had a standalone ice maker in our family room since buying our home in 1996. Our last Kitchenaid standalone ice maker was purchased in 2005 after the ice maker that came with the house broke (wasn't a Kitchenaid). This year, the machine stopped working. Repair man stated we needed a new compressor. We decided it was time to change out instead of doing the repair especially when we saw the changes made to the ice maker. Previously we had installed 2 water filters on the line to the ice maker. I'm sure that helped extend its life besides the cleanings. When I saw the new ice makers came with an installed filter, I was so pleased. We're still using the 2 water filters but with one in the ice maker itself, I feel like we'll really see longevity in the machine. Our old machine was not as well insulated as the new one. We could hear the ice drop and the water click on from downstairs. The new one is so silent that I kept checking on it every night to make sure it was operating. I was surprised to read reviews about the nose. Ours is installed in a bar and I can barely hear any noise standing next to it. One again I have a happy husband with his perfect ice.

The design is exceptional, the ice quality is superb, and the quality is fantastic!" We totally endorse this machine. The machine runs quieter, does not create the heat that my previous machine. The front is easy to open and close. I love the quality feel when you open and close. The Print Shield finish is a great feature. Quality feel opening and closing! I rarely hear the ice dumping once the . The ice maker even has a feature fo a water filter is you desire to use one, and a separate ice scooper area away from the ice. "I sure by now you know that I am totally sold on this product!" To top it all, the Kitchen Aid Ice Maker has a One Year Warranty which some of the other brandsI researched did not offer. "Couldn't be happier!" 5 + Stars in our opinion. -:( Couldn't be happier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old ice machine lasted about 30 years. Parts were no longer available. I bought this one as a replacement. I installed it myself with few problems. It makes ice quickly. The unit is much quieter than the old one. It looks great with the stainless steel door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was an amazing experience. I bought the machine online, the company came and installed and took the old one away for the price of the machine. The machine is working great, just what we wanted.

We installed this product (and also a high-end KitchenAid fridge) in our house in 2017. BOTH had internal hose failures / leaks that resulted in significant wood floor damage to our kitchen and pantry. No help from KitchenAid. NOT recommended--unless you're a plumber. It looks nice for a few years and works OK until you gotta deal with the leaks! Good luck with that.

Worst purchasing experience of my life. Installers wouldn’t remove copper line. I had to hire a plumber. When installers came for second attempt, they didn’t have the right size coupling and left without installing. I called a plumber to install at my expense. Not the Icemaker won’t make ice and has flooded my floor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My original ice maker which was only about a year stopped working and when it couldn't be repaired, kitchen aid replaced it, for which we are very appreciative! This is our third ice maker ( same model) as we love it!

Icemaker internal power failed. Hours spent on hold. Manufacturer would not provide service during valid warranty claim window. 3rd party technician could not repair after 3 trips. Waste of money. Had to throw away and buy another.

I only wish I had know about the filter system because I put a filter system in the water line to the ice maker before it was delivered

What a waste of time and money. Produces a glass of ice about every 24 hours and constantly runs water. I got a notice from our water company that we had a leak because there was running water for 48 hours straight.

The only surprise is that it is fairly loud and continues to run water through the system even when the ice bin is totally full. Not a problem, but didn't expect that.
