[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 4 years old. The main motor stopped working. I pulled the unit out and saw that it had been leaking for a long time. The brand new cabinets that were installed were ruined and the floor under the dishwasher was rotten. There were also flys breeding under the unit from the water. I pulled the unit out. I noticed the hoses on the back and sides had melted to the point where they started to catch fire. There were burn marks all along the side and back of the unit I would not recommend a KitchenAid to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been in the appliance repair business for over 40 years and Kitchen aid has been my go to appliance. Nothing is bulletproof but I have found this has been the most consistent in quality and service.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought it because our last dishwasher was also Kitchenaid and it worked well. We needed a dishwasher replacement ASAP and due to Covid19, we would have to wait months for one if we ordered one, so this was a floor model. We are pleases with our purchase. It is super quiet, has all the functions you would need and cleans really well even on well water. I don't think the window is useful other than a conversation piece. It's not like you can turn the light on and watch the dishes wash, but when the door is open the light does come on and believe it or not, this is actually super helpful. Really easy to see to load and unload! Otherwise, when the cycle is done the light will come on for about 10 minutes to signal you that it is done. That is really not needed as it had the word "clean" illuminated and an audible signal also sounds. My last Kitchenaid did have a 3rd rack which this one doesn't and I DO miss that.

May cost little more than some but well worth it. Going forward will not even consider buying anything except a KitchenAid!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coming from a 6 year old 47DB Bosch. This has been in about 1 week or so, so i cant speak to durability and longevity. It is Quite unless its partial load, then you hear the water hit the door/window but it still hard to notice. At 44DB its shockingly very quiet and efficient with a normal load. I use the express wash with no dry cycle because i always set the timer for 4 to 6 hours delay after dinner cleanup then it washed over night. By morning, its VERY clean & dry. The only standing water is on top of the coffee cups. I think the other setting are all over 2 hours. The express is under 1 hr and all that you need. With that said, i always immediately rinse my dishes after use, i use Cascade Power Dry and Finish Powerball. I am impressed...I do however, wish you could turn the light on while washing. I'm surprised with a window that we wouldn't have that option. The inside racks, you can not rotate flat if you need to lay something down. With that said, I wash everything including all pots and pans, so that may be just me that likes to have things flat sometimes... So basically 2 minor quirks that really are not bad and do NOT impede functionality in ANYWAY. I purchased this machine KNOWING these things. My husband wanted the window... we got the window... With that being said, i LOVE the LED lights in this Machine that come on for 10 min at the end of the cycle & when you open the door. You don't realize you need a light in you washer until you have one! We have the KitcheAnid low profile Microwave & the kitchenAid single door Gas free standing range now added this dishwasher, the refrigerator is next, I am happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using this now for a couple months. We've had a Kitchen Aid double drawer, and Bosch in the recent past. This is my FAVORITE so far. Easy to load. Like the single flatware bin to lift out and put silverware away quickly. Cleans excellent and you don't even know its there. Thanks Kitchen Aid!!!

It has been my great misfortune to be stuck with this GARBAGE! I have had the dishwasher for all of 6 months. The Kitchen Aid repairman will make his third appearance day after tomorrow. This time it’s because the rubber gasket has come off, for no apparent reason. Other reasons that the repairman has been here are: the dishwasher does NOT CLEAN ADEQUATELY, unless you actually wash them first so, the only purpose for owning this dishwasher is to sanitize, otherwise clean dishes. Normal scraping does not prepare the dishes. Additionally, the dishwasher is extremely difficult to start. The button is not at all sensitive and requires several attempts. Also, I cannot recall how many times I thought that I had started the dishwasher, only to go unload it a few hours later, to see that it had not started. The light lights, but nothing happens. The repairman did confide in me that a Bosh is the only brand that he would recommend. I HAVE AIRED ALL OF THIS INFORMATION TO THE MAYTAG/KITCHEN AID CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES, TO BE IGNORED. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tested it by loading the top with containers that were coated with cheese from super-gooey leftover macaroni and cheese. Washed on just normal cycle and wow! I'm a believer. I wish I hadn't waited so long to upgrade. Every time I use it I say "I love our dishwasher!"

The third level rack is really awesome to have. It also runs very quietly, which is one of the reasons I ordered it. The powerful jets are another great feature. I would highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I did a remodel of our kitchen, dinning and living room for our 40th anniversary, we bought KitchenAid appliances and I love the dishwasher.

I changed my dishwasher because my old dishwasher which was 10 year old but worked fine. I got this dishwasher not even two weeks ago.. everyday I find soap on the door or on the lower tray or the dishes. I am very frustrated as I have little kids at home and this is not even safe for them to eat out of those dishes.

KitchenAid Dishwasher KDTE404DSS This product is Definitely "Quiet". After only 2.5 years of use it "Quietly" emptied its water contents onto my one year old WOOD FLOORS...Causing $4K of Damage! Obviously, this product is built with CHEAP parts, as this problem was caused by a one inch defective rubber Grommet (Kitchenaide wanted $350.00, found online for $16.00)! I noticed all the 5 Star reviews, then notice most have "incentivized review" noted to the side. You have to PAY FOR A GOOD REVIEW! Why don't you just make a 5 Star Product! My "Louder" 14 Yr Old Kenmore (never leaked), was upgraded to your Kitchenaid Trash. How about you incentivize me by FIXING THE DAMAGE TO MY FLOOR YOUR PRODUCT CAUSED! I would not recommend your product to an enemy, much less a friend.

Yes even ladies can install them (my husband had surgery and only gave me little tips). I LOVE how quiet it is, I LOVE the ProScrub feature for my baked on messes and I LOVE how clean my dishes get! I no longer have to pre-soak or pre-scrub all the dishes and silverware. I am going to save so much water!

Purchased unit in Sept 2015, 3 1/2 years ago, it was a great unit, until the smoke and I mean a really awful and rancid smell came from the dishwasher. I was within 2 feet of the dishwasher when this happened, a few pops could be heard and then the smell. I even purchased a 3 year warranty from a very large retailer. I am glad I was home or who knows what would have happened. Oh well.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We went with KitchenAid brand to replace our old appliances in our kitchen renovation and this is an excellent dishwasher! It cleans superbly and its minimalist design is perfect for any kitchen motif; we have a rural-rustic, natural two-tone cherry frame with maple panel cabinets and it gives it a nice modern touch. I have received many compliments on it. The stainless steel handles are really nice because they don't yellow like the plastic white handles do. It is a large capacity (perfect for our family of 6!), super quiet and easily cleaned/maintained and most importantly, the dishes come out sparkling! We are very impressed and look forward continuing to add more KitchenAid appliances to our kitchen!

The washer is highlited by the countertop and in turn helps make the countertop sparkle! .It is extremely quiet, the dishes come out sparkling clean, especially the silverwear and performs as advertised on heavily soiled dishes. We tested it with a heavy cheese stuck to a plate and it came out completely clean. The dishwasher has been installed for over two weeks and we are completely satisfied and highly recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On my new home construction, after doing some research I decided to buy this baby based on looks, noise and how well it cleans. Had it for about 6 months and has been working like a charm, a great choice overall! Looks great next to our Wolf gas stove, and honestly I don't even know it exists. My wife uses it about 4-5 days a week, usually during prime time while we watch tv which we sit 8 feet away from the Dishwasher, and can't hear a thing. Dishes, glasses etc... clean, no issues. Happy wife, happy life!

3 years later and Dynamic Wash Arm no longer work. 5 service calls, 2 different repair companies, and multiple replacement parts and no one can fix this. Home Depot extended warranty is useless and a waste of money. First company they sent out quit because they didn't know how to fix it. Second company also has no idea how to fix it.

Yes this dishwasher is quiet and cleaned well when new. The last few months have noticed that the wash arms constantly gets plugged with fine food particles. It was getting so bad that I was cleaning them every day. The dishes were coming out with particles stuck to them and I had to re-wash by hand. Noticed someone else posted a problem with the fine filter broken. This dishwasher supposedly has a self cleaning filter so you cannot access it easily. With the issue the other customer reported, my husband took located the filter housing and when he took it apart discovered it was broken.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Typical "oversized" items do not easily load into this dishwasher: Pfaltzcraft Napoli 12" dinner plates must load at an angle Pfaltzcraft Napoli 3" deep soup/pasta bowls must be far apart from each other 7 1/4" tall glass containers must be in the lower rack Mikasa flatware does not fit into flatware guide slots Capacity ends up being seriously compromised. The 15 year old Kitchen Aid unit this dishwasher replaced did not have these limitations except it too had issues with the Mikasa flatware. OTHERWISE, this is a GREAT dishwasher: Everything comes out spotless (literally and figuratively) VERY QUIET

Bought it.... Waited... . Didn't keep original delivery date.... Delivered a week later..... Sent me a dud..... Dead on delivery..... For $1000.00 that's some great quality control..... God only knows how long this will take to get taken care of......

What a great upgrade over my previous "high end" dishwasher! Super quiet and cleans exceptionally well. It also has features that I actually use! While no dishwasher that I am aware of totally dries everything, this KitchenAid does an excellent job drying. Super happy with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this dishwasher for about 2 months now and I’ve yet to figure out the best combination of washing and drying cycles. I’m one that rinses everything off in the sink before putting them into the dishwasher. There have been numerous occasions when food residue has been left on my dishes and silverware. I don’t want to scrub my dishes before placing them in the dishwasher but I am expecting the dishes to be clean after runnning it. I probably have inflated standards because I had an Asko prior to this one. I probably need to try the Pro cycles to see if they preform any better. On a positive note, I really like the appearance of the dishwasher in my application. Industrial meets Rustic.
