Forget the Hand Sanding and use this!
I thought I would do a test on the backside of a kitchen cabinet door. First, I used this product with a lint free cloth. I put some on the cloth and rubbed the door down. It dried really quick so then I primed the door. Next, I put 2 coats of paint (waiting for it to dry in between coats). These cabinets are in a kitchen in my basement and are white with lacquer on them. I’m going to paint them gray. I’m very impressed with the way it turned out. I did use a flat paint, so I will be re-doing this door with a semi gloss on everything. It’s been 6 days now and the back of the door is perfect.

This was very easy to use and extremely effective. I had been putting off painting a dining room set because I didn't want to face the sanding of all the detailed areas of the chairs and legs, but this product made it a snap. The paint adhered perfectly and so far is highly resistant to any chipping, which indicates that the surface was prepped correctly. I will use this on all of my future painting projects.
Used this to remove finish and stain from my wood chair. It discolored and stained my chair. Have tried to sand it to repair the damage. No luck. It didn’t even dona good job removing the finish. TERRIBLE PRODUCT

CJA, We apologize that Klean Strip Liquid Sandpaper did not meet your expectation. However, in your application, the product was not designed to remove a finish or a stain. Klean-Strip Liquid Sandpaper prepares surfaces for painting and increases the adhesion of a new finish to an old surface (Example adheres latex paint over polyurethane or oil-based surface). Please contact our Klean Strip Helpline at 800-398-3892 to discuss further your application process and damage.

This liquid sandpaper product is a godsend! I purchased several pieces of used wooden furniture, knowing that when they were painted they would look spectacular. Rather than stripping them or sanding them in the traditional manner, using liquid sandpaper simplifies the entire process. You simply brush on two coats, let them dry thoroughly and the surface is ready to accept paint. Because this is latex-based, the cleanup is easy. Several of my neighbors have stopped by and are amazed at how terrific the furniture looks!

A painter referred me to this product because I hated the deglossing product provided in the Rustoleum Cabinet Transformation kits. This product is far superior; it took less effort (scrubbing), was easier to use and the paint and stain adhered better to the surfaces. I wish I had found it earlier.

Works great. If you're going to repaint over old semi-gloss you know you will either have to sand the semi-gloss with sand paper, or just use this product instead. This product works, and it's easier than having to use sand paper. I had to degloss then repaint some fireplace bricks, and there was no way that using sand paper was going to work on bricks... the bricks are just too rough and uneven. This product did the job, and since it's liquid it gets down into all the nooks on the bricks. I've also used it to degloss a regular kitchen wall before repainting. This product works good on a variety of surfaces.

I used this on my wood fireplace screen insert. My wife wanted to change it from a glossy brass to a flat black. I used this to treat the surface of the brass to remove the gloss so that the spray paint would adhere...the effect was perfect for my project.
I had procrastinated about refinishing a kitchen table and chairs for 2 years--due to the sanding part. Such a pain. Luckily, a Home Depot clerk suggested this sanding sealer. It takes all the work out of sanding before refinishing! I just couldn't believe it! I put it on with a rough cloth (I didn't have a sponge), wiped in circles, let it dry for 10 minutes and used the poly/stain product. I did not sand! Unbelievable!
