wish I would of had this when I was doing hvacs control work. Seems pretty accurate, easy to use, light weight. Has a probe which more convenient than having a meter with a probe cable. Small package easy to put in pocket.

Excellent quality. I use it (laser) to check temps on truck and trailer tires at rest stops. Contact probe worked well on Thanksgiving turkey.

This unit was very easy work with . Did a great job What I was use it for You can never go wrong with Klein Tools.

Let me say right from the start that this is a very handy little tool for measuring temperatures including indoor including heat and air conditioning vents with a hook that will let you hang it right from the vent. It is amazing to me the large differences in temperature that this can measure from -40 degrees F to 572 degrees F. It operates on batteries with 2 AAA batteries which should last for quite a while. It also measures surface temperatures using an infrared laser. Just a great little tool, do yourself a favor and pick yourself one up.

This thermometer is a nice way to check the operation of your HVAC systems. The 2 measurement storage and differential display will quickly assist you determining if your system needs service. While it may not be as precise as RTD it should be accurate enough to let you know if your system is operating within designed tolerances. The thermometer has rubber buttons that provide a nice tactile feel when pressed and measurements take little time. Like most high-end electronics, the battery storage compartment includes a brass threaded insert for the screw. This helps keep the screw from stripping out. The stainless temp probe swings out of the way when not in use and will prevent it from being snagged in your tool pouch or pants pocket. The probe is switched on when moved out of the storage position. I think I would like it better if it had a button or switch to select which measurement mode you wanted to use. The instructions are given in English, Spanish and French on a 5 panel z-fold glossy paper insert. The included zipper pouch is made of lightweight duck like fabric with a loop that can be used with belt or carabiner clip. The IR distance to spot ratio is fairly high which means the measured spot is about 8” at a 32” distance. This is one of my top 10 measurement tools.

This is a handy thermometer to have around. I've measured the infrared readings against a higher-end Klein that I've got, and it's pretty close. It offers a lot of options in a small package, which can make for somewhat complicated operation, but it's really not that difficult if you read the directions. I'm pretty sure it was never the manufacturer's intention, but this also makes a great meat thermometer (after having cleaned the probe, of course).

I have been using the infrared light to test when the grill is ready for putting the meat on and comparing it to when I think the grill is ready and it's very close. The probe has also been very useful to measuring the temps of the meat I am cooking when I am cooking a lot of meat on the smoker. It is very easy to read the numbers even in low light.

The Dual Infrared and Probe Thermometer arrived very quickly and intact with case included in a blister pack. I selected it because it's a Klein tool and has the laser with a probe also. I like the compactness of it. It's flat, unlike a pistol type, so it can be pocketed, that's a good feature. I use it in a commercial kitchen to check fryer oils and oven temps. The quality is outstanding. Easy to use. It's working out as expected. I like it.

First, let me start off by saying I am not an HVAC mechanic. I have found a totally different purpose for this great tool. I use it to check the inside temperature of meat I am smoking. When I checked its temperature readings, it was spot on, compared with my expensive meat probe. This may sound silly, but Klein makes great and accurate tools, and this is comparably priced for most quality meat thermometers. And the infrared probe makes it great for checking the grill temperature. I also do some woodwork and the infrared probe is handy when I do epoxy finishes. It comes with a handy case to protect this when I am not using it. It shows Klein quality through and through!

Klein Tools Duel IR Probe Thermometer. This is very handy piece of kit. The backlit display is actually readable in bright sunlight. It can take temp with IR beam which is very accurate as well as probe that neatly fits into side ( out of the way) of device. The 4” metal probe has a ratchet extender so you don’t have to touch it with your hands (messing up temp reading). It also has very convenient method to figure out temp differentials and easily switches from F to C with push of a button. I especially like the auto off feature to save batteries and the battery charge indicator right in the display. I tested the temp reading with both probe and IR beam in different setting, indoor and out, and it was very accurate in all cases. Highly recommend this device.
