I got this light to go with my Klein hard hat. It is made to clip right on the front of the hat. I do not use the headband that comes with it but will hang on to it just in case. I love the light; it is bright and has a "spot" and "flood" setting. The charge lasts a long time and it swivels up and down to adjust to my working view. It is a good, well-made light.

I don't wear a hard-hat, so this feature was less important than that it holds onto my hat better than my previous headlamp. See photo comparisons - broader strap, more secure. Brighter light in position one and position two. Lacks a red-light option (useful when camping and going in and out of the tent or camper) Rechargeable - rather than powered by common AA battery. Battery gauge - not available on my old one. Both are water resistant. Klein tools are generally more durable, and heavy - that's true in this side-by-side comparison as well. Both have angle adjustments. I won't be throwing away my old headlamp, but I will be using the Klein in work environments that require brighter light, and using the old one where I need a red-light. Over 9 hours and still bright. Rechargeable lights are much better than batteries. I like the confidence of a charged and bright light rather than having half used batteries go dead. I have several headlamps that claimed that they could be used on hard hats but were easily dislodged or not very bright. I really like that this one stays on and that it is easily removable without having to take the band off of the hard hat. Even better is that it is rechargeable and comes with an USB cable for charging. It has a center light that is very bright and can be switched to less bright side lights. Even though it would have used up the power faster, I would have liked that you could use all 3 lights at once.

Like I have done so many times before with other tools I initially purchased an inexpensive headlamp only to be disappointed. So the second time around I wised up and got this Klein unit. The biggest advantage is significantly more light output. Secondly, being USB rechargeable is a real plus. Having the ability to easily remove the lamp from the strap and use it like a flashlight is another stroke of genius. The only negative I can think of is the headlamp is a little heavier than some of the others but none of the others can match the performance and convenience of this unit. Also, the silicon strap works well if you are not wearing a hard hat. Images are from trying to trace some electrical circuits at the breaker box.

A well-built and well-designed light meant to strap to a hard hat however is comfortable enough to fit on your bare head. I like the ability to recharge the battery instead of fussing with batteries. A simple USB connection is required to charge via your computer or a wall plug although only a cable is provided with the light - no wall plug. The light has two intensities by pressing the large on-button once or twice and a third time to shut the light off. The band is made of some polyurethane material that remains flexible even in cold weather. Nice product.

First off, the headlamp itself appears well made and is sturdy. Super bright, pure light. And seems like it can take a beating from being on your head, hat or hard hat (the silicon strap is designed for hard hats). It is also water resistant, can pivot to 90 degrees downward from flush against your hat with enough points in between to get the beam direction just about perfect, has a spotlight and area light setting, and comes with a usb charger. Finally, it has lights which indicate charging, low battery, and finished charging. My one concern about the lamp itself is with the piece that secures it to the band and allows it to ratchet while pivoting using a tooth traveling across a partial gear at the base. The tooth seems like it could wear from repeated adjustments. This concern may be unfounded. The material is flexible and doesn’t feel cheap, so perhaps it won’t wear. More importantly, it does seem to hold the position well. Not once has it shipped to a different setting or sagged due to weight of the lamp body. The charging aspect leaves some room for improvement. First, it can take hours to full charge, according to the packaging. Second, the usb cable it comes with is so short, it’s almost unusable if you are charging at an outlet or in your vehicle. It also only charges at USB 2.0 ports on your laptop. Third, it doesn’t come with an adapter for charging at an outlet. On the positive side, it seems like it should last most of the day and can be topped off at night. It claims it can be used for 12 hours before requiring a charge, which I find to be accurate. Overall it’s a very good almost great package and a bright, sturdy lamp that should last a long time. Klein tools are one of the few things in life which has never left me disappointed in any way with any of the products. This rechargeable auto-off headlamp is another item added to the growing list. I have spent a lot of money over the years wanting a good headlamp which will remain dependable and they all failed my expectations. This Klein is totally awesome. The auto-shutoff will turn the light off if sufficient light is detected for 3 minutes and also has the option to disengage the feature. It has a spot light for direct light and a wide spread option for wider use. Having only to plug the enclosed USB cable into the port on my desk lamp is quite handy. The lamp has different light color combinations which display while charging which let you know the charge level. This option can be checked while in use by holding down the power button. Option to adjust the tilt/angle of light direction is nice. Silicone band totally adjustable and comfortable completes all the options I could ask for. Well done as always Klein.

Lights up an attic very well, when one wrong step means patching drywall, its important to have a light that stays charged, and so far it's been great
