These Kreg screws are fantastic. The 2.5" size was perfect for the pocket holes I drilled in some 2x4 lumber. Kreg recommends using the 2.5" pocket hole screws on material that is 1.5" thick. I have seen other brands make pocket hole screws, but I have never had an issue with the Kreg brand. I have never stripped a screw, and I have never had a bad or bent screw come out of the box. Kreg makes quality products, and as long as they continue to do so, I don't mind spending a little extra to get quality.

Kreg makes great pocket hole jigs and products. Im not a professional cabinet maker or carpenter so when it comes to building cabinets and furniture I need to be sure what I buy is of professional quality and easy to use. I bought this set of square head screws to use in a 6' ft cabinet I made my wife. With the Kreg pocket hold jig, the screws go in smoothly and securely, and thanks to the pocket hole, they cant be seen. I also purchased the hole plugs that fit in the pock hole over the screws, just glue them in and sand down level with the surface. These course thread Kreg screws are amazing and they make building solid furniture and cabinets a breeze.
No need to buy screws specifically for pocket holes, most any screw with a bugle or standard head will work better and can be accustomed to the specific project. These screws strip easy and will snap off in any hard wood (think maple or oak) whether you use fine or coarse thread.
I use a Construction or deck screw or something stainless for exterior applications. These are overpriced and weak. GRK screws will help you out much better than these, just use a long star bit.

Poor quality. The square shape screw head and square driver app that comes with the creek set or very difficult to use. The star-shaped and other manufacturers is much preferable. This square-shaped does not catch and grab properly and it takes way too long to drive even one screw into the pre-drill
