The keypad will not illuminate all the numbers when you touch it. Therefore I cannot put my code into unlock the door

I had the luck of having a reading helper. While I was performing the install, my wife was reading from the app. Worked out great. We did a swap out from an existing deadbolt. No drilling, no changes needed. All the parts are labeled good. I would suggest not installing the inner battery cover screw since the second step is to pair the lock with your phone. You have to access the battery pack and the program button. Had to do it twice since we didn’t think to look ahead.

Just finished installing the Halo touch deadbolt anf it works great. It was very Easy to program with my wifi and the fingerprint touch. Kwikset app was also very easy to program and use

The lock was installed with a new door. As I finish my renovations, and install new doors, I will be adding more to the house.

I have a few of these types of locks but this my first AURA. Easy to install and easy to setup with app. My two biggest complaints are that it's extremely loud and a bit pricey. Would recommend but again it's loud don't try to use app or code if you want to be quiet I recommend using key if you don't want to wake everyone up lol.

I installed 5 of these at my house. They work fine once you install them correctly. However.... I just had to update the app and now I can't use it at all unless I allow the app to track my exact location at all times. Talk about a bait and switch after spending $250.00 per lock. Total scam!!!!!!

Installed this with my new door and I’m impressed of the easy set up to my mobile app. I can lock and unlock with my phone, key pad or even Alexa. Beautiful modern appearance.

Set up, install and clean up should only take 30-60 minutes. Although the package comes with paper instructions you will want to download the Kwikset application for an easier installation guide. You will need the Kwikset app regardless to set up a combination, view other locks, organize up to 250 codes/people, turn on auto lock, enable/disable lock sounds, enable/disable LED status, view paired smartphones, Identify lock with sound, or see how to pair locks with Alexa or Google Assistant.

This lock was easy to install and works great! I only had a couple issues. You have to set up a 2.4G wireless SSID, will not find 5G, likely because you get greater distance with 2.4G. Also the App would not work when I left my home even though the app showed the lock was connected to my wireless and the cloud. I finally power cycled my phone and that resolved that issue.

Whoever wrote the step-by-step installation guide should be given a promotion and a raise! As someone who works in marketing, I know how important clear product instructions are-this was the best installation experience I’ve ever had. I guarantee I would have given up (I’m not the handiest woman) if not for that guide being so helpful and thorough. Great experience and product so far!

I purchased this door lock based on two important criteria: 1) my wife's insisting on being able to remotely lock or unlock our front door when we are not at home 2) this being a Kwikset so that that I rekey this lock to match my other doors. On account of both criteria, this lock passes with flying colors. I do like the feature that you can store up to 250 passcodes and associate those to specific individuals as well as limit the duration of when the passcodes work.

Quality digital combination lock. I was able to install it easily and programming was simple.

The door lock installation and application setup went fairly easily and it works fine remotely, which is why I purchased the product (grandma was leaving the house unlocked). My only difficulty was getting the lock to fit into the door jamb without registering an error. Once I enlarged the hole with a chisel it locked correctly. Good product and support but it is expensive. Hopefully, the batteries stay charged for a good length of time.

Easy install. Just a couple of extra steps compared to a standard deadbolt due to the inside of the door parts. My wife and I love the convenience of the one button locking. We are frequently out on our property and no longer have to be concerned with remembering to grab a key before leaving the house.

I thought that it would be an all day project to install. NOT, went to the Kwikset website, select the model all the instructions come up, very easy to understand and follow. Then it came time to set up the app, easy step by step, it took me longer to remember my router password then it took to set up and pair to my phone. The app is easy to use and change settings or pass codes. The instructions that came with the lock assembly were good but easier to follow along on the website.

Better battery life.. yes i was buying lithium energizer would last 60 days and be depleted. And it was only me using door. Twice a day. Come in go out for work.. no more. But i hope kwikset fixed this problem.. i suggest they make one for rechargeable batteries with a solar front cover. To keep batteries charged.. idea 💡 i too had hard time fingerprints reading. But my son show me .if u do it like your phone finger print steps it works better. And it worked. it works evertime.Tech is patience

I had to drill my door jam out a little bit so the deadbolt would extend fully, for the best result. Downloaded the app, followed the strip by step instructions. So easy. Now I don't have to give my grandkid a key to take to school, that she might lose. Even if she loses her phone, she had her own code. I love this lock!!!

The Halo we purchased was one of the few that had WiFi without needing an Alexa or Google device. The install worked well. The worst part was having to drill a new deadbolt and strike hole. Kwikset should consider making one of these with WiFi and a doorknob as part of the unit.

I bought this Halo touchscreen with no expectation that I would be able to install this.Being curious, I decided to try. The old opening was same size. So I followed the instructions (provided on bar code) I had it installed in about 20 minutes. The pairing instructions were just as clear. Created account, added users & pass codes, tested the lock w/ the app and even re-keyed it to my existing key. It is perfect. Battery life? Don't know, as it is new. I'll post again if it is a battery eater.

It's been less than a month, but so far we're loving it. Not have to carry around and use a key is the best feature. No issues with the physical installation. Straight forward - pretty much the same as installing a regular deadbolt. We've had no issues with the lock driving the deadbolt. Love having different codes for different people. The reason it's getting a 4 instead of a 5 is that we had some issues Kwickset software during the setup process. It kept telling is to add the lock, then complained that we couldn't add it becasue it was already there. We had to fiddle and try it several times, but finally got it programmed.

Quickly fit into the pre-existing standard lock cutout replacing my dead bolt. Instructions, both in the app and included are very concise and easy to follow but be prepared to spend some time on the setup. The lock seems to be operating as intended using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, touchpanel and actual key. My only issue is that it is quite loud when in motion. Thought someone was outside using a circular saw. Is this common? Am in the process of connecting it with my Google Home.

Many things that can go wrong, sabotage, or temporarily delay the complete installation of this Kwikset Halo deadbolt. For example, you may have an incorrect setting on your smartphone that won't allow your phone to "pair"it to the deadbolt. Or, you may have (added) an entry code using the wrong sequence & need to do a complete factor reset to default, etc. Call tech support. Be patient. Wait your turn in Que. I had to call Kwikset tech support 3-4 times. They were very helpful & great to deal with. Also, they have some "secrets" that they use that aren't in the instructions (or obvious) that they'll use to complete the installation when you are totally stumped.

I installed this on my own in 30 minutes it is a good idea to watch a few YouTube installations prior to installing this.

I evaluated the available locks, the main benefit I wanted to maintain is one key for all locks. Kwikset Smart key maintains this. I had to drill the door out for this lock to be added and that went fairly smooth (if you don't chisel the bolt you have to order a drop in bolt from Kwikset) chiseling was a little sloppy but was ready to set up the lock quick and easy until the firm wear update, at the end it just froze I read this was an issue, so I was prepared. I watched a video on factory reset, quickly performed this and finished the set up. Yes, you need the app and an account and personal information. It was all pretty simple and easy to add users and operate after the install. Now just to find out battery life. It comes with Rayovac high energy batteries 4 AA.
