Quality Control Department Needs Help
The small details are lagging in the QC department at Kwikset. The lock, keypad and large handle looked good and no issue with install; however, the indoor handle set screw threads on both handles are messed up, one of them would not accept the set screw at all. On the handle that did work, the set screw will not screw in completely, therefore every time you turn the handle, you rub your hand on the screw.

We are here to help! The set screw that holds the levers on is reverse threaded and pre-installed in the chassis shafts. Open the door and slide the lever on the shaft, insert the 3/32 Allen wrench in the hole on the side of the lever and rotate to tighten the lever on. It will locked you out the next day
It worked perfectly the first day & the next day it locked us out. The company said that it had a defective part and that they were going to sent a replacement.But, What if it happens again? I don’t trust it anymore. I returned it and bought another one.

The shaft was installed upside down with no way to...
The shaft was installed upside down with no way to put both sides together. With a google search it was determined that it is a common problem and said you can twist the shaft with some pliers and turn it 180 degrees not harming the lock. If that information was included in the instructions the installation would have taken only a couple of minutes. They should not let these units out of the factory made this way.

I had just a bit of trouble getting the lock...
I had just a bit of trouble getting the lock to self-calibrate the solenoid-driven deadbolt. I thought it hadn't correctly set the first time, but it worked fine. So far, very happy with it!

It doesn't lock from the outside using the touchscreen. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. Read the instructions thoroughly. At this point it's on the door and looks good so I don't want to return it. The most useful feature, to lock the door when you leave without using your key, is the only function that doesn't work. Totally a bummer. I'm disapointed.

Please ensure the door is aligned correctly, and the door jamb hole is at least one inch deep. Next, perform the manual door handing steps below.
1. Open door and extend latch to locked position.
2. Remove battery pack.
3. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack—release button once battery pack is installed. The status LED will flash red and green.
4. Press the Program button once more.
5. The latch bolt will retract about halfway in and then extend to learn the orientation of the door.
To lock, push the lock button and to unlock, enter your user code. Should you need additional assistance, our Support Team is more than happy to help you at 1-800-327-5625.
