We can now go for workouts and run through the woods and not have to worry about a keys jingling in our pockets - or worse - accidentally losing them. This was easy to set up and I’d recommend it.

Thumb lock keep turning to lock after you open the door several times!I took the fist one back and the 2nd one did it to!Returned it to!

My door was pre-drilled for the correct set back, so all I had to do was swap out the hardware. It took me 20 minutes total including programming. It's so convenient to be able to know I don't have to hide a key anymore!

I love having the ability to keep the door locked but be able to enter the house from the back yard with only a code. Also, the quality of this lock is top notch! AND it is beautiful. This finish is great, it feels strong. Absolutely love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros:Very easy to install. It took me less than 30 minutes, and I was slow as I was reading the manual thoroughly. I was replacing an existing lock, so door already had holes to the dimensions and was chiseled from the side. Allows up to 10 user codes, which is useful in case you have friends/family staying over.The lever on the inside can be used to keep it in "unlock" mode in case you are going in and out for some time.Auto lock - after a few seconds, it auto locks, if the inside lever is in lock position.I liked the overall look.ConsDoesn't have wireless access.

occasionally tries to unlock over and over

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this for our back door for a couple reasons; namely for when we forget our keys or a relative needs to get in when we aren't home. It's super easy to install and use and looks really nice too. It's already come in handy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband installed this over the weekend on a door we have connecting our garage to our house. Love it. Not only does it look nice - a pretty brown/bronze finish that matches all my other hardware - but it works great. Husband said install was easy and programming a code proved no issue either. I like that we can program multiple codes into the lock because for some reason each family member seems to have their favorite code they do not want to switch from using. And we can disable the keypad feature all together if for example, we are having a bunch of people over who will be going back/forth through the garage connector door. The french handle style is nice as well. Overall, it is a good looking, high quality handleset and I am pleased with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this lock earlier this week and we finally got time to install it. Let me say super easy to install, took about 15 minutes. In saying that It was put on an already existing front door, so the holes for the latch and handle were already there. The directions were simple and Easy to understand. Programming it was super Simple to. I like how you can program several codes so if you had workmen or a housekeeper coming they have a separate code that can be deleted easily.

This particular style might not be robust enough for the front door of a house, but it saved me from having to walk back out from the garage to the rain or snow to the front door which I can't remember how many times i have done. Great looking and fairly straight forward to install by a DIY kinda person.

Need better Instructions to install it

Easily replaced existing lock in garage, with this Kwikset Smartcode lock, no need to drill hole. Used existing hole in door; No need to use key, with this Electronic lock. One additional feature is the ability to program this lock to other existing keys already in our possession (rekeying lock with SmartKey Security). Just follow the enclosed instructions.

The product didn't work and had to contact Kwikset for a replacement.

Extremely easy to install & program. My biggest struggle with using it is remember to hit the lock button right after unlocking it so I don’t leave my door unlocked. I keep telling people that they need to get these kinds of locks! I love them. Nothing extra out of the box was needed.

Worked great until it didn't. Poor design. To change the batteries you have to take the deadbolt above it out because it obstructs the battery slider tray. The cover for the batteries require a torq (star shaped) screwdriver which most homeowners don't have. Don't lose the one that come with the lock or you can't change the batteries. The screw location is on the side of the lock and it would be easy to strip them if you thought a regular Phillips head would work. After about a year the mechanical locking mechanism broke in such a way that I couldn't slide the lock out of the strike plate and had to remove the door by the hinge. I bought two and they both have had similar problems after about two years.

It was a little difficult to set up but once I got it all went fine...going to buy another one for my other door!!

Installing this door lock is very easy if you follow the simple directions. Putting in a code is easy. Door worked first and has worked every time. I bought and installed another one.

These do not last like they need to

So far (only installed about 2 weeks ago) we are very pleased with this electronic door lock. Easy to install and enter codes. We like the optional feature of allowing to keep auto lock off unless you want it on. Looks nice and is smaller and mor sleek than the previous Schlage.
