Customer Reviews for LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner LP1021BSSM Cools 450 Sq. Ft. with Dehumidifier and Wi-Fi in Gray

Easy set up in one of the LR windows. The vent hose detached from the diffuser after a couple of days. I used white duct tape to keep it secure and so far (about 1 month) no issues. The unit lets out a certain amount of heat; for this reason, the thermometer never gets to the target temp and the unit runs continuously. I do appreciate that it is WiFi enabled; I use this feature daily to control the A/C. Noise level: on low it is fine; on high it is louder but not oppressively loud (I do live in NYC so I am accustomed to higher levels of noise). I have not used the Fan or Dry features. I regret not purchasing the 12K BTUs as the 10K takes a bit longer than expected to cool down my approx 440 sq.ft space (but I do have 9.5 ft ceilings).

I bought this a month ago, and I dont feel it works very well. The AC is supposed to cool a room upto 450 sq feet. The room im cooling is about 350 sq feet and it is not doing much.

The unit works well, I didn't expect it to take up so much space, also very pricey.

It works well and gets nice and cold on the high setting. The only con is that it is loud on the high setting. Otherwise, it works well.

We were lucky to find this a few weeks ago in the middle of a heat wave. The unit has performed well above my expectations and, it would appear, the LG room size specs for cooling. We use it in the living room during the day and bedroom while sleeping. Moving the unit, hose and window attachment is very easy and can be done in minutes. Not having to empty the unit or attaching a drain hose while in AC mode is a plus. We really thought we would need a window unit to cool our living room but found this unit works great in bringing the temp down to a comfortable level and keeping it there. The features are easy to understand and use. So glad we made this purchase.

We connected this to our portable generator during a power outage. It kept the entire first floor of our house cool, despite high heat and humidity. Quieter than another brand we tried in the past. Quick & easy set up.

The AC worked pretty good for about 12 hrs, then it died. The plug seemed to short out and I returned it. Otherwise it did get the room cold while it was working. It is very noisy so it would not be good for a bedroom.

This unit works awesome up at our cottage. We have had no problems with it. So glad we purchased it.

First purchased a 6000 btu, could not keep up. Returned it the next day and got the 10,000 btu version. Does a good job of keeping the room cool, also helps out in the adjoining kitchen. The unit was one of the few that would work in my narrow 20" window (Bay window with narrow side windows). Drawback: the thermostat doesn't work very well. So I use the manual method - if it gets too cool, I shut if off for a while.

Did not come with a drain hose. Leaked a gallon of water on my rug. Looked like a floor model.

All good. Love the ability to control it remotely using WiFi. Setup/installation was pretty easy. The unit is powerful and performed to specs. Only complaint is it is a little noisy. But we knew that when we bought it. We would definitely buy another one should we need it.

Unfortunately took the time to make the exhaust fit in the window frame before turning it on to see if it worked. It blew air, just not cold air. Tried multiple hard starts and what not. Tried calling support, run around process, more waste of time. Husband is an automotive AC tech, who wanted to try more to make it work and I wouldn't let him, not worth the trouble. Loud, took up a lot of space, infuriating that it didn't work and waste of time. Home Depot was awesome handling the return!

Back hose that connect to the back of the A/C comes off.

Because of the remote control system an older person would need help to set it up. The unit itself is VERY good - I’m happy with it.

Very nice air conditioner haven't tried the heater. I'm glad I purchase this item.

Does not cool the room as expected.

Fantastic great product

It worked fine for a while then it just started pouring out water one night. Do not buy this unit it will cost you at least 10 times the price in the damage it will do to your home and LG will just ignore you and continue selling faulty AC units. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

it randomly puts out cold air and then it doesn't . I'm pretty sure it's filling up with condensation and shutting off the compressor but there is nothing in the manual about that. There are so many new designs for blowers and compressors that could've made this thing quieter but it doesn't appear that lg used any of them. The funny thing is,,, I ditched my old window ac because the window was right next to my bed and it was too loud (but it always blew cold air).

I loved this ac for the first couple weeks. It now will make a very loud noise while in use, sounds like a plastic bag flapping around. This noise it so loud it wakes me up and I am unable to use this product. I am unsure if it is able to be fixed or replaced

Cools great. Too noisy

I use it on my 2nd floor of my130 year old house and it cools significantly. I have central air but the top of my home doesn't cool like the lower part of my home

We returned this unit as it did not work in our home. When the unit’s tank fills up with water it shuts off and it was shutting off every 45-60 min, granted it was very hot and humid when we installed it, but isn’t that the point? So every hour we had to drag it outside and empty it, making it essentially useless for cooling the home, especially overnight. My husband tried setting it up with a drainage hose running outside but there is no internal pump to pump the water out so that didn’t work either. Possibly we needed a larger capacity unit? Regardless, we could not keep this.
