It’s nice looking and quiet compared to my old one. I’m hoping it will be a good one.

Everyone knows that the back of an air conditioner with the fins and coils is fragile. So why would they create a box for the air conditioner that does not protect these fans and coil. Something sharp went through our box during shipment and smashed the fins and possibly damaged the coil. For $400 I wasn’t going to take a chance, so I returned it. Also there were no handles In the shell of the air conditioner so that you could lift it out of the box. While it looks like a nice unit there’s some things that are poorly thought out.

Install had to be a custom job due to the style of windows, not a problem. Installed easily and quickly, very quit!! Very cold! I purchased this unit for the WIFI….. so my unit could be monitored and times of operation be installed. The app sucks, the WiFi sucks, the connection is absolutely embarrassing. Called Lg and they said they are not responsible for WiFi issues. This unit is less than 10ft from my router… save the money, but a cheap unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never had air conditioning before, and this window unit is a game changer. It is efficient and takes the edge off in several rooms of my largely open floor plan house. It is narrow enough that I was able to install it in a casement window (after removing the window from its frame). I didnt think i would take advantage of its wifi feature, but it did end up coming in handy many times.

This unit runs quiet and keeps my home comfortable; I haven't seen my power bill as yet so can give an update later. So far I am very happy with the product. My house is an older house and this unit was relatively easy to install in the double sash window.

Works well except cant program wifi

So i alresy havw the 8k in my bedroom it keeps the room about 69 at night. I got this 12,000btu for mt living room and so far it does cool the area. I feel like it runs longer than it should for the size and the fan speeds arent much different unlike the 8k unit. Over all its pretty quiet and the air is cold. Setup was a little confusing but i figured it out. You have to remove the guts and install the frame with curtains first.

Relatively easy to install. Works great so far, cools down real quick. Installed it a few days ago.

This is my first ever Smart Appliance and I absolutely love it and it was fairly easy to assemble.

Awesome unit

Excellent unit, Has been used for 2 years for a 12x20 living room. I am able to keep this room 70F and my electricity bill is under $70 in August! Remote works great and the filter reminder seems like it knows just when to clean it. When i first installed it the room it was 96F and within 30 min of turning it on was 75F. Does make some noise when the water it slings hits the cooling coils but it doesn't have to run that much because that makes it so efficient. It's a good trade off in my opinion. Install was easy, unit is on a tray that slides into the housing.

It's doing the job well. Love the energy saving on it climate control. Has WIFI but we are not using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this through Home Depot online. Arrived in pretty good shape, with the box slightly damaged. There was some slight damage to the unit (see photos) but, I thought, not enough to return to the store. We have approximately a 400sf living room that’s vaulted. We purchased this size due to different online sources recommending an increase in size by a factor of 1 or 2. It definitely cools the room! Would have given it another star if not for: I had trouble with the WiFi option. It wouldn’t completely sync up and would drop out...the most I could get was 90% completion. I’ll try again when the weather gets hotter and the unit is powered on continuously. It is a beast at 92lbs, I purchased a window shelf to provide extra support. Do I recommend this unit...if I get the WiFi to work, yes. If not save your money and get the unit without WiFi.

The ac unit arrived and the fins on the side where bent .,! But due to it being hot I couldn’t wait to get it replaced so there it is with bent fins on the side Other then that it keeps the room fairly fresh I have not had any issues so far., Other then the small damaged fins

Freezing cold and you can barely hear it running.

I love everything about my LG AIR CONDITIONER it's smart function with ALEXA is the most I like about it. 12000 btu is enough for my space I have over 600 square feet of space downstairs and it stays cool. I have livingroom, kitchen, and dining room and all stays cool thanks LG.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This air conditioner is great. It cools my large apartment easily and quickly and feels like central air. I love the WiFi feature and the app and set up was not difficult. I have had no problems thus far and am very pleased.

I purchased this LW1217ERSM model, and I've had mixed reviews. First, I'll start with what I like: The unit cools well and seems to be intuitive and efficient. The phone app is giving me a few issues in setting a weekly reservation, but I'm confident I'll get those solved (I posted my question here on homedepot.com). For the unit itself, I'd probably give it a 4.5 stars. The setup and install, I'd give 1.5 stars. I work as an instructional design manager, so my company literally works on putting content like this together for students, trainees, consumers, etc, and these instructions should have never left the designer, let alone pass it through their (hopefully) internal QA. First, the manual is for either the LW1017ERSM or LW1217ERSM, and it clearly must be written for the former as the images were a joke in matching up what things actually looked like. It took a lot of guess work, and I ended up with some pretty bad results, some of which I could not just simply redo. I got the unit installed, but the instructions made it very, very difficult. Pictures don't look accurate, angles make what is supposed to be "up" actually appear as "left" and so on. Trust me, you'll see when you get started. In the first three images you can see how merely touching the outside of the unit will cause permanent denting and tearing in the mesh. There is no warning about this, and although I've had the unit less than 24 hours, it looks like it's been through a hurricane and has been up for 5 years. In the next image, you'll see how the foam-PE (adhesive back gets stuck to everything and basically melts to even your skin on contact. I didn't take a picture of my hands, but it was covered in this, even as I attempted NOT to touch it by just pealing back the tape. Even after wiping it up, you can see it still has a black mess everywhere in lots of places. The last image shows how the heatproof foam is not even the same color as the white unit. It's off-white, and makes it look like a family of chain-smokers lives here. So what does a 4.5 unit rating and a 1.5 install rating warrant? A 3-star review. I hope this helps folks!

A/C works great the instructions are a little tough to understand thanks to YouTube videos installing went smoothly Otis very quite and cools two connected rooms. I have had it going for two weeks. I was money well spent it replaced a 5000 BTU UNIT

The unit cools better than I expected. It is also more quiet than I expected. I have no problem sleeping in the same room if it is on cool mode where the fan is always running. Eco mode is great during the day as the unit will shut off when the desired temperature is met. The remote control and mobile app are great and being able to turn on the unit remotely is what sold me on LG. The unit was easy to install in a single hung window. I did have to use a small block of wood under the unit and on top of my interior sill since I have no exterior sill. The only issue I am having is the unit can trip my 15A breaker at times. If I avoid Eco mode for long durations and allow the unit to start cooling before switching modes on power up, then I have no issues.

The outside compressor unit is almost twenty years old and has required DIY repairs every year for the past 9 years such as replacing the blower motor or capacitor and tinkering with the thermostat wires. This season I decided to try a different approach by installing this window unit in a centrally-located room of the house. The vents are oriented to blow toward the kitchen & living room, and the other bedrooms have fans to circulate air with the rest of our 1400 sq.ft. house. It works so well I don't plan on replacing the old central AC unit because that would cost 15 times as much!

Our son installed this LG 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner almost a week ago. So far we love it. We had a Samsung previously with same BTUs that didn't do as good a job cooling the area as this one does. I typically keep it set on 75 energy saver mode and I've had to get up and put a sweater on. The LG is much quieter than the Samsung too. The unit is very nice looking and wasn't too terribly complicated to install. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because we haven't had it long enough to do so.

I have a 475 square foot tiny home and since installing this unit, I have not used the small 5000 btu unit in my bedroom. I live in southeast Texas, so we run the air a LOT. I am not tech-savvy, so I will have to get my son to add the app to my phone to benefit from the wifi capabilities. I do have a small loft over my bedroom that I could open up and use for the grandkids and this LG air conditioner will easily cool it too. The unit is surprisingly quiet even when the fan is on high. I have been using this appliance for almost 2 weeks. I would recommend it to others and probably buy another LG product.

Love it! This unit replaced a Frigidaire FFRA1222R1. It is much quieter and has more features. I like that it has a slide-in chassis which makes it easier for installation and cleaning (there was no easy way to clean my previous A/C after the season ended and it got very moldy). The room I purchased it for is approximately 550 Sq.Ft. Although my area hasn't experienced the worst of Summer yet, there have been some hot days since I installed the A/C - the room was cooled easily. The installation instructions could be better, but a quick search online brought up helpful videos. I have not tried the LG app for wireless connection to the A/C. Home Depot was great to deal with. I had an issue with the first A/C shipped to me - the fan did not work. I contacted Home Depot customer service and they arranged for UPS to pick-up the A/C and exchange it - no problem! I was relieved since it would never have fit in my car. I was very impressed by the way Home Depot conducted my product exchange. Although I confirmed the unit could be returned before I purchased it online, I assumed I would need to find a way to bring it into a store. My experience with this purchase and exchange will definitely influence future purchases.
