Craft ice is a bit deceiving, everything else is just fineIt is a beautiful refrigerator, the 29.7in is humongous and everything fits well. The black stainless steel looks gorgeous in the kitchen. So I'll concern myself with the biggest selling point to me of this unit, the craft ice. If you don't care about it so much but want the feature, the unit is fine.
To be clear, I've made plenty of craft ice by hand before and used all types of molds and of course a small cooler and then carve out the ice. To make craft ice you need to understand the concept of directional freezing, if you do, you know it takes a long time so the 2-3 spheres a day while true, is not a huge problem for me. I like to get creative with cocktails at home and use clear craft ice for presentation purposes all the time. If you have dabbled in mixology you know what I am talking about. Also it is great to savor spirits like whiskey because the dilution is much slower. So when I saw a fridge that makes perfect clear ice for me, I was sold. The problem is that the "spheres" are not anywhere near spheres, the have a huge flat side that cuts down around 20% of the sphere, they are not huge in size as shown on the ads and most importantly they are cloudy on the side opposing the flat one. To me that pretty clear false advertising.
