Sad loss
Our frig is 6 years old we really have enjoyed it however it broke and we lost a freezer full of food.

    Not satisfied
    It lasted for 9 years. Compressor is broken and some other part needs replacement it seems. LG Service is ridiculously expensive.

      Excellent I really the french door
      I like everything about this refrigerator. The ice maker in the freezer is great.

        Worst refrigerator ever made
        Our LG refrigerator compressor went and LG could not get it repaired in less than 5 days and they were going to put the same defective compressor that was in it. LG has had thousands of these compressors fail and all they do is put the same defective compressor in. Stay away from LG applances.

          Larger interior even though it is counter depth
          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disappointed that the doors don’t swing closed when you push it. Have to get used to this as my last one all you had to do is give the door a slight shove and automatically closed. Not happy with this!

                Love the features of this refrigerator
                My refrigerator is about nine years old now and hasn’t had any problems with the box until about a month ago. We realized that the box was cooling. Call LG customer service and they stayed on it with us until the problem was resolved. Most wouldn’t have done this during this day and time. Anyhow our refrigerator is up and running with no problem. Thanks LG customer service for your services!

                      Compressor went out twice ice machine never really
                      I wanted to love this refrigerator so bad but,, Since we bought this refrigerator, the compressor went out twice, damaging all my perishables, ice machine never really worked. The second time it was repaired it cost us almost 700, for labor. Ice machine still no good. Just one nightmare after another.

                        Piece of junk
                        I had this LG refrigerator almost 10 years and will never buy another LG refrigerator. It's on it's third compressor and the last one was just installed May 28, 2023. It already is failing to freeze.

                          Great features but doesn’t last
                          We bought this refrigerator 7 years ago. We love the features of the refrigerator especially the shelf that slides back for taller items and the slim ice maker which allows for shelves in the door. So disappointed that the compressor went out! Would have expected it to last longer than 7 years. In addition to compressor, there was some kind of leak along outside of refrigerator which deemed it nonrepairable.

                            It is a nice refrigerator until it isn't.
                            It is a closed system so if it slowly leaks refrigerant, you won't know about it for a long while. If it happens and stops cooling effectively after your warranty period, it is a hassle to get the repair completed unless you have your original receipt. If you have it moved, make sure the movers are careful with the bottom side, the ice maker valve is fragile. The door hinge sags after a while. So the closing hinged part inside the door that keeps the seal between the doors, does not always catch the closing mechanism at the top of the refrigerator.

                              We have had this fridge for 10 years! No issues until this year when the compressor went out. Luckily we are within the 10 year warranty (barely). I called customer service and they sent someone right away to replace it under the warranty. Hoping for another 10 years out of it!

                                  Nice refrigerator
                                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am happy with the frig with the exception of the ice maker. Have had service on it 5 times already in 4 years. they keep replacing it and still it continues to leak periodically.

                                    I wouldn’t recommend this fridge.
                                    We bought this fridge in the summer of 2017 for our new home. The first compressor stopped working March of 2020. It is now April of 2023 and the second compressor went bad. LG covered parts and labor the first time and the compressor the second time. We had problems with the installation of the second compressor. And the fridge stopped working 3 times that week. So I don’t recommend this fridge. They are not build well.

                                      Good Customer Service for Repair
                                      I opted for the one price for all repairs and it turned out well. The compressor had failed and the condenser coil had plugged and both were replaced. Repair tech was friendly and did the repair quickly and the fridge works like new.

                                          Disappointed!
                                          Mine came with the house. Mfg in 2016 bought house 2017 had trouble 2018 just quit cooling, unplugged and started cooling again now 2023 totally died and have to replace. doesn't seem like something I would buy. I have an apt size frig on my patio Ihave had for over almost 20years ago and never have had a problem.

                                              We got 10 years out of it
                                              Lasted us 10 years. I complained about spending 2K on it whenever I had to break up the ice cubes so they would come out of the dispenser; when the doors slammed shut; produce freezing in the drawers; having to remove ice sheet from the bottom of the freezer every month because the drain tube would freeze; if freezer was set 2 degrees colder icemaker could not make ice, if set too high not enough ice; looking at the constant finger prints, cleaning swirls, dents and scratches on the stainless steel. Now we find out about compressor problems. How much carbon foot print from all these appliances in the landfills? Make lasting products!

                                                Good fridge overall but ice maker stoped working
                                                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had bought an LG fridge back in 12/2016 and it has worked fine until now that my fridge stopped making ice. Did a little research and talk to a tech on the phone and they said possibly the sensor could be bad on it. It fills the ice tray with water, it freezes it but it doesn’t dump/dispense the ice into the bin so it can refill water and make ice again. I have to keep hitting the reset to make it dump/dispense the ice every time. Other than this issue everything is still in working condition.

                                                  I have had my LG since 2014 and I have only had an issue with my Ie maker. Then this year (2022) it stopped working so I call LG and set up a services call. The LG rep was very nice and explain to me what was going on and what he was going to do to fix it.

                                                    I bought this refrigerator back in 2014 and this is by far the best refrigerator I have ever owned! I have never had any problems with the refrigerator. It’s easy to clean and other then replacing the door switches everything else has run fantastic. I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

Ice maker works good, but does not last as long as I thought it would. Eight years old and compressor went out. LG warrants this for 10 years and replaced unit on their tab. I paid labor only. Works better than new now. LG has excellent customer service. Call 800 number and set up certified techs. in your area. Efficient people and service techs. arrive during window of time set up. Customer Service Is Key For Me!!! Stay with certified techs only.

                                                        Actual Temperature Reading on Front Panel
                                                        The refrigerator is well built but the compressor had to be replaced after only 5.5 years of service. My comment is that an actual inside temperature reading should be incorporated on the front door, not just the temperature setting. If this was the case, I would have been warned that the refrigerator malfunctioned. Consequently, I lost hundreds of dollars in food.

                                                            Don't buy LG refrigerators
                                                            Bought the now discontinued LG LFX28968ST in 2016. they discontinued these things so when they go out in 6 years you can't leave a review. The compressor is out and when I call our local repair place they already knew what the issue was based on the word "LG" Evidently this is a widely known issue and they get lots of calls for same thing. The part may be covered but it's an EXPENSIVE labor cost for the repair. I truly believe they deliberately build these things to fail after 5 years.
