Our old dryer was thirty years old and still working but we thought we would try something new. This new one is amazing. The machine seems to know exactly what to do by itself. I turn the knob to whatever type of clothes I have to dry and it senses how long to dry and the moisture content of the items. It knows when to shut down on its own. So far I haven't had to check to see if the clothes are finished. The dryer itself knows. As for the noise level, it seems quieter than the old one. It has a giant tub to dry large loads if necessary. As with the usual clothes dryer, it was easy to set up. Level it. Hook up the vent hose. Plug it in. If something goes wrong with it, you can send the problem to LG via cell phone for quick diagnostics. I'm amazed with how smart machines have become. I would definitely recommend this.

Lots of setting too so you can pick a pre-set to use or set it to dry the way you want it to. Large readout on the display and a most lovely "I'm finished" short song to boot! Next: The matching washer!!! LG "Life is Good" sure fits for this appliance. (note that readout number is 10 seconds, the end of the very easy short 15 minute break in period)
I bought this dryer 4 years ago and already had to have the motor replaced . Doesn’t dry as well as I thought it would

NO DRUM LIGHT?!?!?!

disappointing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the DLG7100 dryer based on a Consumer Reports review. It lasted 3 years before the motor had to be replaced. The irony is that I line dry as much laundry as possible. Of course, it was out of warranty.

Wish it would have lasted longer.

Too smart for its own good!
Flow sensor keeps turning my dryer off. After cleaning the entire exhaust system we didn’t find any blockage. Reconnect dryer and it still says dryer has a blockage and turns off. Flow sensor defect

Works well, but sensor doesn’t work well at times

But the sensor dry doesn’t always work well and I frequently have to run it again for jeans or towels, even if I run it on ‘heavy duty’ and use wool dryer balls. Takes some getting used to in that way, but I love everything else about it!

Takes forever to dry
I have had this dryer for almost 6 years. I clean out the lint trap and the exhaust hose. It heats up but takes forever to dry. It can sometimes take almost 2 hours for the clothes to dry. When I first got it dried but you had to limit how much clothes you put in it to a half a load. I have an lg tv and could not be happier with it, but the dryer has tons of issues

Already had to replace the thermistor and panel
Very disappointed. Dryer less than 3 years old and had to spend $425 to replace the thermistor and the control panel. Can’t say I would recommend or purchase another LG appliance.

Mediocre
I bought this 1 year ago and regret it every load. Who does not put a light in a dryer. Never had one that didn’t and the dryers aren’t plugged in in the stores so it’s something your not looking for. I’d much rather have a light than the annoying little tune that plays signaling cycle is done! Plus clothes come out wrinkled most of the time.

SAYS DRY BUT CLOTHES ARE STILL DAMP
I love the little tune, and it is quiet. The problem is that every load it says the clothes are done but they are not fully dry. It's so frustrating. I have to then add a manual 25 minute extension, which is not ok and defeats the energy efficiency. All online help suggests to check my lint buildup, which is not the problem.

Dryer not working.
I bought this a year ago doesn’t dry anymore. I called to get it repaired and they said it was needing the filter cleaned. I cleaned them out and it still doesn’t work.
